How many lives do you have to save before you realize you’re missing your own?
Summer is back in Jackson Hole after more than ten years, and the first person she sees is the one man she was never able to forget: Drew, the quiet, outdoorsy guy who was her first kiss. He’s all grown up and more handsome than ever… but she’s not staying in Jackson Hole. Three months only—then she’s back to pushing hard for her dreams, making a difference through world charities.
Drew likes to stay busy, and between being a firefighter paramedic and volunteering for Search and Rescue in the Teton mountains, that’s easy. Sure, it makes dating hard, but women never stick around anyway. He learned that from his mom.
And then Summer walks back into his life.
He can’t fall for a woman who’s already planning to leave.
She can’t change her life plans for someone who doesn’t even have time for her.
But what do you do when you look in someone’s eyes and see forever?
Jennifer loves reading and writing clean romance. She believes that happily ever after is not just for stories. Jennifer enjoys interior design, rollerblading, clogging, jogging, and chocolate. In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique. Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times. She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.
Saving Forever is the sixth and final novella in the Jackson Hole Firefighter Series. These novellas are all clean contemporary romance and can stand alone; however, many of the core players in each of these novellas are also players in most of the other books in the series. There are instances where the stories of some key characters span several books. It is my opinion that you will significantly enhance your reading experience by reading each book in the series in sequence.
I do not want to demean the earlier offerings in the series, but this final book is the best book of them all. Summer Linden is a powerful heroine and an equal match for our hero, Drew Carter. Summer tends to remain a stalwart in her devotion to Drew, even when Drew's self-doubts plague him. As the counselors try to mold and motivate their teenage charges to take control and give genuine purpose to their lives, the essential messages they teach will open the eyes of many readers of this final work in the series. Well done, Jennifer, not just for this last story but for the entire series. Five-Stars!
(4.5 stars) - A forever kiss that had them both seeing stars Years ago, Drew rescued Summer with a romantic view of endless stars & a kiss neither of them could ever forget.
Now, Summer is burnt out and back home, working for a local charity, while trying to figure out what she wants to do next.
Meanwhile, Drew's love of the outdoors & desire to help people have led him into a career as a paramedic who also does search & rescue team work on the side.
The two of them have a re-meet-cute when Drew rescues Summer from a car accident. They manage to reconnect (after a few bumps), and it's a match made in heaven. Except that his pager keeps going off. Summer begins to understand why his other girlfriends left
The story immediately grabbed me with the prologue & kept me immersed to the end. Though the plot isn't original, it's written in a fresh, realistic way with well defined & highly engaging characters.
The fire department where Drew works is like a surrogate family & the interactions are sometimes touching & often entertaining. The promposal & other proposal scenes were sweetly romantic and so much fun.
It's very minor, but I would have liked to have some resolution with his half-sister's being upset with him, & maybe something showing his mom gaining some awareness of what she's been doing to him.
I wasn't familiar with this series, but was drawn to it as a fan of Shanna Delaney's writing - I'll definitely be checking the rest of it out from here, while I'm waiting for her Sweet "Candyman" series to come out!
Drew and Summer shared a dance and a kiss after prom where she didn't have a date. She always wonder what if, but they went their separate ways after graduation. Several years later she's back in Jackson Hole to manage a non-profit and he's the EMT firefighter. He still thinks he's not good enough for, but she makes him take a chance on them even though she's only supposed to be there for the summer. Drew frustrated me when he wouldn't tell her what was wrong, just pushed her away assuming he knew what was best for her. Summer was a sweet caring person who wanted to help others just like Drew. This was clean second chance romance with plenty of funny, sweet, and some intense moments.
What a great book on firefighters and paramedics. Their jobs are so critical that we can never appreciate them enough. This story is so true to the effects that most people who read it will understand that you can have your cake and it it too, so to speak because it is an understanding of how we live our lives and how we want people to live there's as well. Love and understanding go together like bread and butter. The more you understand people the better you will be in believing in yourself, so be happy and enjoy life to the fullest. This was a free book and this is my review and in my words only. Norma Gorrill
Saving Forever is a beautiful story of Drew Carter and Summer Linden, who had one special night in high school and had not seen each other in ten years. I really liked that Drew seemed to be Summer's knight in shining armor, always ready to rescue her but never thinking he was good enough for Summer. I enjoyed watching them try to overcome obstacles in their past in order to have a future. It seemed they both had to make some new priorities in order to be a couple and that they both learned the hard way what truly was important to them. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Finding yourself and what you really want to do with your life can take awhile. Come along the journey with Summer and Drew as they navigate the waters of life and love. Drew is a paramedic who saves lives. He just happens to be a hero for Summer when she needs someone to talk with after prom in high school. Years later Summer ends up back in Jackson Hole. She works for nonprofit organizations helping heal the worlld. Can these two work together yo build a strong relationship, or are their hopes and dreams too different? Happy Reading!
First time reading this author’s work and I really liked her style. What stood out to me in this story is that we really got to know the characters well. There was very little fluff and filling in this book and I really felt that the characters were well developed. This is a fun series and it’s great to read about the different relationships between the characters and to see different authors’ writing styles. This is definitely one of my favourites in the series so far.
This is a terrific series! I loved seeing the last of the firefighters in this crew find his girl. This story developed differently than I expected it too. I really enjoyed that. I also enjoyed seeing the characters come to know and understand themselves better. I loved how that strengthened the relationship they share. Plenty of heroics and two hearts of gold. I also loved seeing the big firefighter family come together to strengthen one another.
This is my favourite Jackson Hole firefighter book yet. I liked how this book explored the dilemma of finding a balance between always doing your best to help others every time someone asks (or the on call beeper buzzes) and being there for your family and friends - how it is ok to say no sometimes. Good clean romance with a HEA.
This story will make you think about the way others see you...most of the time it isn't the way you see yourself. Doing what you perceive as your responsibility is usually way more than one person should try to do. It can take your soulmate, along with great friends to show you how to handle responsibility without sacrificing everything your heart wishes for.
All I can say is, it takes one heck of a woman to stand by a 'First Responder'. I truly enjoyed this series of first responders and the women who stand by them. These two have one common goal, helping others. I recommend this series for people who enjoy contemporary romance novels.
I loved every book in this series but I think I loved this last one the best. I really didn't ever think of the spouses of the firefighters, policemen, doctors, nurses, etc in quite the same way as I do now that I have read this series. My thanks go to Jennifer Youngblood for this series.
I loved Drew’s story!! I have enjoyed this series; each story is clean, well written, and fun. Both Drew and Kristina are intriguing people, and I enjoyed getting to know them.
I loved the whole series and was almost sad when I finished knowing this was the last book in Jackson Hole Firefighter series. They are all sweet romance stories but with some soul searching undertones.
I’m a little sad that this is the end of the series. Drew had some serious issues, but Summer was the right girl to help! I love that she realized a better way to help was with interpersonal relationships!
What an Arthur ! She writes such a beautiful love story and also making it thrilling and scary. Yes I enjoyed this love story but it was not just a romance but I even cried on how much the children were affected by the lessons that the teachers taught.
This whole series has been absolutely wonderful. Jennifer has a way of making you think your right there with the characters. The women always seem to have a way with bringing strong stubborn men around.
What a wonderful story about Drew and Summer. Drew's heart was broken when he was young. This has affected him with relationships. See how Summer in his life helps him.Very heartwarming story.
A good clean romance of two people who want to make a difference but will they give a little to have a relationship. I enjoyed the story and I really like the series. I would recommend it.
I love this whole series. Hot, literally being firemen and sweet love. Of course, rescuing which is part of the job. I just enjoyed these short, sweet, sexy stories.
I loved this last book in the Jackson Hole Firefighter Romance series. Drew and Summer's story was so sweet. Love prevailed, their love and the love of God. To God be all glory!
