When the Global Allegiance terminated all Cyborgs, rumors were rampant that they still existed, either hidden away with wealthy collectors or—even more scandalous—part of the Cyborg Rebellion.
Poe Cyborg is a dirty word. The world wants to forget them. Not me. I have been dying to meet one since I learned of their existence. Okay, I have been dying to meet a certain one. Dax. The Science Model. The most brilliant cyborg ever created. So what’s a girl to do? Sneak into the cyborg rebellion headquarters that’s what. So that’s what I did. And in my defense I didn’t plan on stealing Dax. But now that I have him how can I ever let him go?
Dax I am the original cyborg. The only Science Model in existence. My processors are brilliant. A true work of art. Still not one female wants me. Time after time I get passed over. Then a female sneaks into the woods and with one look I know Poe is mine. In that moment I have to make a choice. The cyborg rebellion or her. And I choose her. Now all I have to do is get her to choose me in return. How hard can it be?
Dax is book four in The Cyborg Chronicles. While it can be read as a stand-alone for better enjoyment of the story it is recommended to read the books in order.
Kelsey Nicole Price is a midwestern girl who shares her brain with a lovable bunch of cyborgs and a stray alien or two. While other girls were dreaming of Brad Pitt she was crushing hard on a certain android from Star Trek TNG.
As an adult she longed for a cyborg of her own so she decided she'd write him. One blue cyborg turned into a whole bunch of different colored cyborgs and she couldn't be happier that she gets to tell their stories.
When she's not writing she can be found watching Unsolved Mysteries with her hubby, snuggling her two cats, indulging in any kind of dessert and secretly wishing for a pet sloth.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 🤎🖤💜💙 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 😲🫣😡😤
The Hero:Dax (a.k.a. 010 101) - he is the only science model cyborg in existence. He is part of the cyborg rebellion. When the Global allegiance learned that the cyborgs they had built and experimented on had souls and couldn’t be controlled, they tried to get rid of all of them. They made owning a cyborg against the law and the cyborgs rebelled. The headquarters of the rebellion is hidden away deep in a forest in a large underground bunker. Dax has seen some of his cyborg compatriots find human mates, but he thinks he will never have his own yet that is what his heart aches for.
The heroine:Poe - she has always been fascinated with cyborgs, and when she finds out about the rebellion and that there are cyborgs that still exist, she is dying to meet them. She is especially interested in the science model. So, she goes off to find the rebellion headquarters and is sure that she will be welcomed among them.
The Story: Poe comes across Dax in the woods and is happy to see him, though soon afterwards Reaper, a military model and the leader of the rebellion finds them together and insists that Poe might be a spy. Without thinking too much about it, Dax disables Reaper with a code, which is treason against the rebellion, so he and Poe take off together.
I liked these two main characters quite a bit. Dax was the first cyborg ever that Dr. Shaw created and the only science model, so he felt a little out of place with all the other cyborgs since there are hundreds of each of the other models. Poe is a reporter, but she is such a fangirl for cyborgs, and she is quite odd in and of herself. She silently talks to her own conscience like it is another person, even goes as far as arguing with herself at times.
The thing I didn’t like was the fact that it was so much of a love fest right from the beginning. I mean Poe had always crushed on Dax and Dax had been lonely and wanting a female for himself. There needs to be a longer getting to know you, getting to like you, timeframe. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope for a reason, because even if the two main characters can’t control their attraction, they still have to spend much of the book getting over their animosity towards each other.
Dax is the only green science cyborg and Dr. Shaw's first son. He has suffered in silence since the beginning. He wasn't physically hurt but emotionally he has been hurt and every unkind word has chipped away at Dax's heart. All he wants is to belong to someone and to be loved. Enter Poe, a young woman who has been dreaming about meeting cyborgs her whole life especially a certain green sexy science cyborg. Dax who never leaves that compound suddenly feels the need to go outside. Poe worked up the courage to find the cyborg rebellion and when she came across Dax every dream she ever had came true. This is a terrific adventure Dax has a wonderful sense of humor and the banter between him and Poe will make you laugh, smile, break your heart and put it all back together. Even though they didn't have to worry about the evil Dr. Rosenfield other tragedies strike and it's an emotional rollercoaster . You don't want to miss it. And the teaser for the next book is explosive. I can't wait!💖
While I enjoyed this story. I felt their crush/obsession (on her part) to love was too quick. It should have been a few weeks of transition first. The other part that bothered me is why she was there. If it was just to meet up with her obsession I can understand. But what I could gleam it was her idea of a story. What kind? Unclear. Makes no sense logically. Next one premise doesn’t either since her friend hacked their system before. She should be able to get into the video, audio security system to see her wo going off.
I LOVE this series! Dax and Poe are so perfect for each other. You need to be a fan of super instant attraction but if you have read any of the previous books in this series, you know that the cyborgs "know" when they have found their female. I love how she stands up for him and truly sees him. Dax has not had it easy amongst the other cyborgs but Poe makes him feel validated. It is best to start this series from the beginning. If you love cyborgs, you will love all of these books!
I have now read all four books of the Cyborg Chronicles that have been released and they are wonderful. I love the stories and the characters. I want every single one of them to have a HEA. I want more cyborg babies and I want Dr. Shaw to find someone that loves her and all her children. And I want the Global Allegiance to get theirs. Bring on the next book. I can't wait to read more.
My, oh, my. Dax done got himself a female at last and found out a few things about himself as well. Poe is so precious and so perfect for Dax regardless of a certain crush she's been harboring her whole life. This story had me laughing from the start and a bit of swooning too. Hope you enjoy the Cyborg Revolution as much as I do.
I’ve waited for Dax’s story and I was not disappointed. It hit my heart strings and I even cried!! Not something I do often but you, Authors, know how to get to me. This is an amazing book and I can not recommend it or the entire series enough!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this book so much! Fast paced, hot romance, some drama and great interaction between the cyborgs. A sweet read with an even sweeter cyborg and his adorable female! I can't wait for Viper and Brone's books!
I truly enjoyed Dax and Poe's story. very compelling and so fun to ride along on their journey to hea. though there were grammar and a few spelling errors, still found this a fantastic read, especially if cyborgs are your thing!
Ok this book was amazing! It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me so happy to see Dax finally meet his female in Poe. Truly a wonderful book. I so enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one!
I'm so glad Dax got his happily ever after. This story was so sweet and had me crying several times. It hit just right with all the sappy feels. It's so nice to see the emotional growth in all the other cyborgs as well. Can't wait for Viper's story.
Daz was the first cyborg success of Dr Shaws. As her beginning project Dax is the one closest to her but Dax is lonely. Then while walking alone in the forest he meets a woman that just fits.
Interesting storylines, love seeing main characters from earlier books and need MORE mom.. Dr Shaw should be in more often.... Especially missed her at the event at the end of Dax book! Thank you!!
I loved Dax’s story. I loved how insecure he was. He is very conceited about his intelligence, but his insecurities about being worthy of Poe was heartbreaking.
From suffering in silence to finally feeling like he was wanted, Dax's ability to deal with emotions is amazing. Poe's warmth, curiousity and desire is well suited for his "Science Model" genetics.
