After two years together as lovers and friends, how do you end things when your heart suddenly craves another?
Born into a family of Leaders…of Alpha’s...Roma always knew that one day she would take up the role as the next Alpha of Clearwater. What she was never sure about, was if she would be blessed with a true mate. Choosing her long time companion as her mate seemed the right course of action, only things get complicated when an undeniable attraction to a stranger has her wolf eager to rightfully claim its true mate.
Sabine is all innocence and sweetness, having never experienced the heated desire that erupts within her from a strangers glance. Unsure of what is happening to her, she tries to deny her wolf’s urgings, since the object of her lust is already taken.
MATE is the first book in Jessa Stone’s Urban Paranormal Romance, Lesbian Romance, Gay Romance, LGBT Bisexual Romance series.
So this is a perfect snicky-snack if you are in the mood to do a drive-by of all the main werewolf/alpha tropes. Not a lot of depth but it was a tasty tidbit.
*WARNING* contains explicit sexual f/f content I'm not a fan of this one. Mostly because there no character growth and development. If school was so important to Sabine, why do we not even know what she was studying for? If all of the females mate to females and all males to males, wouldn't that be the end of their race? The story itself just didn't interest me.😞
I really enjoyed this shifter story. It has major potential it was all just a little to rushed for me. I would have loved to have had things delve deeper during the MCs developing relationship and how it changed them. It had some excellent steamy intimate scenes. I would definitely read the next book in the series.

It wasn’t for me. It was too rushed, and almost sounded like it was written by someone who’s second language is English, or it could’ve been translated. Also, the use of the word “slime” in reference to a woman’s excitement is, for me, not appealing, or remotely sexy.
The story itself is good. It is definitely rushed in places and a word choice used that I didn't enjoy, particularly reading, so glossed over the several repetitions of it it the space of a few short paragraphs. What dropped the rating down for me was all the mistakes. Otherwise, I look forward to reading the next one.
Sinfully good . I especially enjoyed the the way that the inexperienced Sabine encountered who would turnout too be her Alpha and her mate ! Wow it was so hot 🔥even though it was short !
I felt like the beginning was a little slow but then I couldn't put it down. I love the name sabine very nice reminds of a movie with that name. Very good book would recommend it to anyone!!
Painful, 🔥 passionate rollercoaster fated mates. Loved the indebt clarity when shifting and HEA. A big 5🌟 for book 1. Jessa knows how to capture us readers with her amazing novels. More of these books pls.
I stumbled upon this book and it intrigued me enough to read it. *SPOILERS* I will start with the bad: much too short, I don't even know if I would consider this a novella, the falling in love even for those of us who know how wolves have mates was much too fast, the change of character in Sabine from shy, never done anything to sex crazed very unbelievable, the grammatical errors needed proofreading - you can definitely tell this is a novice author which isn't a bad thing but for the love of all readers out there, please proofread, and lastly the way this was written - it was like basically a summary synopsis, I don't really know how to describe the style, it definitely did not flow, it was just a recount of events. Okay now for the good: it was interesting and different, the overall story was not bad, the dynamics of the wolf pack were good, a great start to a new series. #BAM make your decision if you choose to read it LOL
I always love a good mate story. This was a quick read. I enjoyed the story line on Sabine who never had a relationship before and was shocked the first time she felt anything was for a women she seen in a bar, which shocked her that she felt something for a woman. Roma the Alpha was shocked she found her true mate. She was about to make her on and off again girlfriend her mate because she never thought she would find her true mate.
I enjoyed this story. It was well thought out. The characters oozed sex appeal. My only objection was it needed better editing for words not really belonging in the sentences. This made it distracting.
A slight misunderstanding has created a uncomfortable situation when one of them decides to take action and threatens to bust the door down. Enjoy! The second book should be just as entertaining.
I love this new series. I'm glad everything worked out for Roma and Sabine. I'm looking forward to reading about Andrea and what I'm assuming is going to be her mate.
