Greyson Bailey had followed Shifter King Montgomery Beck for years. He stood by his side through thick and thin, fought numerous battles with him, and was even there when the man eventually claimed his omega after twenty-five years of waiting for him. Greyson just wished he could find a bit of that happiness of his own.
When he's sent to oversee the omegas at the monastery where Fagan grew up, he finds more trouble than a simple shifter, even a warrior like himself, can handle. He wakes up wounded in an alley with no idea how he got there, who had shot him, or why the omega kneeling next to him smells so damn alluring.
Davan has spent his entire life in a monastery being trained to serve whatever master he was given to. He learned every fighting skill he could, not to protect his master, but to protect himself. He had no intention of spending his life serving someone he didn't know.
The man he saved and dragged to the alley is a different story. Davan desperately wants to get to know him better, but the people who hurt Greyson have other ideas. Chased through the streets of the city, Davan and Greyson have to fight for their future. Together they just might have a chance at happiness.
This second book in the postapocalyptic ‘Shifter Kings’ series was just as exciting and a little more revealing than the first. The consequences of the ages-old war between humans, shifters, and sidhe become clearer and it becomes obvious that the three-way peace treaty with certain conditions has not been followed by everyone. Details about the political subterfuge that is going on behind the scenes emerge, and while many well-known elements of paranormal stories are the building blocks for this tale, the author continues to come up with variations on the theme that have me eagerly turning the pages. The focus this time is on Greyson, one of shifter king Montgomery Beck’s most loyal followers, and what he finds when he is sent to protect the other omegas at the monastery is more than surprising.
Rating: 3 stars This book fell flat for me and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did the first one in the series. I think it was because so much was left out. It was difficult to feel any kind of connection between Davan and Greyson. The ending felt rushed and anti-climactic. In fact, the whole book seemed rushed. Overall, it was okay. Not sure I’ll be reading any more in this series.
I enjoyed this. It was a good sequel. If you enjoyed book 1 you’ll enjoy following up on Greyson whom we met in book 1.
There wasn’t a whole lot different from the first book , but I did appreciate learning a bit more about this world and seeing the slightly different aspects Davan brought to the omega theme.
I enjoyed this story. It didn't have the numerous errors that bothered me in book 1. I was able to relax and follow the story. It followed Greyson, Davan and 2 other Omegas who bunked with Fagan at the monastery. They are on the run after an attack at the monastery. The overall story is still a little patchy but it fills in some of the missing details from book 1. And ends with another cliffhanger. Waiting for book 3 to see Tynian get rescued.
Greyson, who is Beck's second in command, is saved after he's wounded by an omega from the monastery where he was learning to be a servant. There's an immediate connection between them as they try and hide from the men who are after Davan, the omega. While I enjoyed how the book started and there was more of a bond between the two men in this book than the last one, there was a lot of time where the men spent apart and I wanted more relationship development between them.
I get the feeling Foxx is being pushed to throw these stories out before they’re truly ready. The last one felt forced, this one feels rushed and there’s a bit of continuity editing that needs help. The overarching storyline seems to be a good one; it’s a shame to not give it the attention to detail it deserves.
Love this book love the characters love the storyline this book was well written great intrigue great danger it just was all around amazing can’t wait to read the next one
This was definitely a stronger book than the first one. I just wasn’t a big fan of the dream world thing, but maybe if it was further explained I could get on board with it. I loved Greyson and Davan though. They were so cute and lovable.
These omegas are awesome!!! The shock collar and nut removal are epic! I can still imagine hearing the screams…Davan is a rockstar!!! Greyson is hilariously clueless, but tough enough to be forgiven for it.
This book is pack with actions and little amount of romance but still I enjoyed it to the fullest. The dramas isn't over yet. Can't wait for Jaggar's story. I hope it will be release soon.
The second book in the series, and I enjoyed it even more than the first. The MCs were portrayed very strongly. There was also a lot of action and love.
I read a lot this book and book 1 have a different take on.this type of story. I thought it was I interesting with great characters. Waiting for book 3.
