Most protagonists are heroes confined to the pages of a book . . . most heroes are not Watchers.

When Laney sends William home to be healed by his father, she thinks she will never see him again. After all, his home is in colonial Massachusetts in the story she wrote last year. But when William’s words and actions mysteriously begin to appear on her page, she wonders if she’s lost all control over her characters and their stories.

William will fight through the war around him, again and again, to reach the woman he loves, going against her desire to keep him safe. With the Gate Keeper on William’s side of the page working for The Wanderer, a woman determined to eradicate the Weavers, he must find a way to keep head-strong Laney out of the book, even if it means working with his archenemy, Jonas Webb.

Heather Kindt's newest narrative, The Watcher, in her Adult Paranormal series The Weaver Trilogy releases April 21, 2020! Laney Holden is the Weaver and her penned OG colonial historical is still busy crossing the fact-fiction, past-present line. Laney believes setting her pen aside will prevent further fictional characters from crossing into the real world. Unfortunately, an oeuvre pause proves certain characters are more memorable than one would like and they are definitely NOT ready to fade into obscurity.

On a quest to be reunited with her critically acclaimed, written-to-order boyfriend, William, Laney and her friend (with benefits ?👀?👀?) Nick must travel to bygone Massachusetts. Laney masterfully created an antagonist with a whole lot of personal issues (drunkenness... kinda murdery... definitely ragey...) and he's a little (a lot) salty over his character flaws.... (he's still good looking at least... geesh). Baddie Jonas follows his creator cum hater back in time and Laney realizes that her forced second novel may not get the happy ending she hopes for.

Final thought - Heather Kindt is an outside the box thinker. Her storyline and characters follow no rules. The reader will wonder what is real - WHO is real - and that is this author's gift.

I usually have this love-hate relationship with sophomore books in a trilogy, haha! But I guess a book like this is an exception. I love the concept of the first book, The Weaver, where your fictional characters and their stories could come to life.

Worlds apart, William was sent back in the book to be healed by his father. Hoping he could come back to the real world and be with the love of his life, Laney, William went in search of another Gate Keeper.

When Jonas escaped and went back to the book, he thought of nothing but revenge towards Laney and William. Will he finally get the ending he wants?

In the Watcher, we are introduced to the Wanderer, whose main goal is to eliminate all the Weavers ending their control over the fiction world. It is also here where we find Laney communicating with William through words magically appearing on the pages of her journal.

I love the relationship between Laney and her grandfather, Grady. At least she has someone to confide in when it comes to the mysteries of their talents. And there is The Golden Recluse, a secret society of Weavers, where the other members are helping her to uncover more about her abilities.

The storyline was great! It was action-packed, delightful, thrilling, and will surely grasp your interest until the end. There was a surprising twist in the end which would explain why the antagonist felt differently towards the protagonist.

There are some questions I have in mind though like how was one of the Weavers was not sent back to his book world? How was the Wanderer able to jump from one book to another? How can the Wanderer put a character in a Weaver's book when it was the Weaver who decides who will be her characters? Maybe all will be answered in The Ender.

The story ended with a cliffhanger. Laney and William must find a way to save the other Weavers!!! I’m very grateful to the author, Ms. Heather Kindt, and to the publisher, the Parliament House for allowing me to read and give an honest review.

If you read The Weaver, you better read The Watcher because this book will further unravel the individuals playing part in the fiction world. If you love romance, adventure, time travel, and a great fantasy story, I highly recommend this book to you!

I can’t wait to read the third book, The Ender, which will be published on January 12th!

The Watcher is the second book in a three-book series about characters who can write stories, and as they weave their tales, the characters can come to life, and they are not always the good ones. Heather Kindt is an outside-the-box thinker. Her storylines and characters follow no rules and stand out among other fantasy stories. They also get you thinking, what if I wrote this evil character and he came to life, or what if I go into this book and can't get out? I like how we explore the different roles in each book in this new world of weavers. We have Weavers, watchers, gatekeepers, and enders, and each one plays a part in keeping things in line, but what happens when those who are meant to guard have their own opinions about how the story should go?

Wow. I liked the first book in this trilogy, The Weaver, but I LOVED this book. I felt like the story started a bit slow in the first book, but this book had none of that. The action started immediately and continues to drive through the whole story until the end, which is left at a bit of a cliffhanger.

While still a romance, this book offers a much more substantial villain than the antagonist from Laney’s book. There is more detail given into how the roles of Weavers, Watchers, Gate Keepers, and Enders are intertwined, which I found immensely interesting. I also really enjoyed how this book focused more on Laney’s relationship with her writing as well. The first book sees all the characters literally jump off the page, but this book shows how she connects with the story she is the author of.

I’m pretty sure I said it in my review of the first book, but this story gives me definite Inkheart vibes, which I love. If you have already read the first book, then you need to make sure you pick this one up too. If you haven’t read the first book, I would strongly consider adding it to your #tbr just so you can read this book.

Wow! What a twist

Have you ever thought about, writing a book? Well, Laney is and is now living the book, but some characters have their own ideas for how the book should go. A must read for any book lover.

**I received a digital ARC of this book for free from The Parliament House and author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.**

Man, I was SO excited to get an ARC of this book since I loved her first book in the series, The Weaver, so much when I read it last year.

The story has such an interesting premise. When I read The Weaver last year, I was amazed by the premise. It so unique and so fun! I feel the same way about this one. The story holds the same plot line, but we go a bit deeper into the stories.

I thought the writing was still really great. Super easy to read and flowed really well. I flew through this when I had the time to sit and read. I just needed to know more after every chapter! Kindt does a good job of making you want to continue on at every chapter end.

I still love our main character, Laney. She is easy to read and feel for. William is still the sweetest character. We meet a new character in this one, Nick. I really liked Nick! I’m excited to see how his story plays out in the final book. Jonas really surprised me in this book. I’m also really interested to see how his role is played in the final book.

I will say that the only downfall for me for this book was that I felt like it was a bit rushed. It just felt like we were moving from one part to the next real fast. I wanted it to slow down just a tad.

Those last few chapters blew my mindddd! So good.

Also, just want to point out how BEAUTIFUL! these covers are!

Overall, a wonderful sequel! I enjoyed reading it. I am so beyond thankful to Parliament House and Heather Kindt for providing me with an ARC of this book! Seriously, guys, don’t sleep on this trilogy. So unique and interesting. I’m dying for the third book already!

I read and loved the first book of this Trilogy, The Weaver, and was excited for the publishing of the second book. The Watcher, is even better than the first. The reader gets to know the characters in more depth in this installment. Heather adds more twists and turns than I was ready for, which made the book hard to put down. I especially like the format of Heather's books...I keep saying, "I'll get up and get something done at the end of this chapter", but then I can't...It's a quick read. The action and suspense started right away, and of course, the ending will make you want to find out what happens to Laney, William, and the other characters (cliff hanger). I'm looking forward to the last book in this Trilogy.

I received this as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to Parliament House Press and Heather Kindt for giving me access.

We are back with our favorite Weaver, Laney. Just like the first, we are taken back and forth between the pages of a book and the real world. Not everyone is what they seam and secrets are revealed for a twist I didn't see coming!

Heather Kindt does an amazing job at world building and really drawing you into the story. I cannot wait to read the third book to see what happens next.
