If anything is certain in life, it is that nothing stays the same. A lesson that seventeen year old Chris Hall learns the night his mom dies and the world as he knows it ends.

Failure is an emotional read about finding life again. This is the journey towards the light.
After a major loss in Chris life he fails to move on. He doesn’t want to feel or connect with anyone. He drinks too much, hurts too much and instead of trying to overcome it he keeps a journal of the way he feels.
Alli has her own problems. She also has a spark, one that offers hope to Chris.
KU read. This isn’t my usual read but I liked the change.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Danielle Young; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This book was wonderful. I loved that it was a book about grief from the perspective of a young man as the lead. It deals with some heavy topics in a way that is hopeful and simple. A great book for young or even adult readers that tackles some "taboo" topics in a realistic way and shows the readers that every one is different, therapy is okay, and that it is okay to not be okay for a period of time. I cannot wait for the next one :).

This was my first book by Danielle Young and I enjoyed it!!! The story is the about the struggle after losing a family member and how it changes your life!!! I look forward to more books by this author!!! Read and enjoy!!!

4 Cranky Stars
I wish I could say I know how Chris feels but I haven't lost a parent thankfully. I can only assume his reaction was very real when the center of your world is now a memory. Everyone grieves differently.
Chris has basically given up hope since his mom died. He was once the star of the high school with a pretty girl by his side. Life was great I guess then tragedy struck. He downward spirals quick and turns to alcohol to cope. His fist are flying left and right and he's not just haunted by his mother having to see Lilly in the halls doesn't help. Until he bumps into a spitfire of a girl named Ally does he find possible redemption from his life.
This book was hard to read. It's a heavy book. I almost felt at times maybe he was overreacting but like i said i can't say how I'd act. I admire that some people didn't give up on him. All in all a decent book.

This was my first read from this author. This was told in the first person point of view, which is always a deal breaker for me. Not to mention the story has a very strong beginning and it pulled me in instantly.
I will definitely read more from this author in the future.
