Brandt Legg

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Brandt Legg uses his unusual real life experiences to create page-turning novels. He’s traveled with CIA agents, dined with senators and congressmen, mingled with astronauts, chatted with governors and presidential candidates, had a private conversation with a Secretary of Defense he still doesn’t like to talk about, hung out with Oscar and Grammy winners, had drinks at the State Department, been pursued by tabloid reporters, and spent a birthday at the White House by invitation from the President of the United States.

At age eight, Legg's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business, and turned a hobby into a multi-million-dollar empire. National media dubbed him the “Teen Tycoon,” and by the mid-eighties, Legg was one of the top young entrepreneurs in America, appearing as high as number twenty-four on the list (when Steve Jobs was #1, Bill Gates #4, and Michael Dell #6). Legg still jokes that he should have gone into computers.

By his twenties, after years of buying and selling businesses, leveraging, and risk-taking, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties. The stock market crashed and a firestorm of trouble came down. The Teen Tycoon racked up more than a million dollars in legal fees, was betrayed by those closest to him, lost his entire fortune, and ended up serving time for financial improprieties.

After a year, Legg emerged from federal prison, chastened and wiser, and began anew. More than twenty-five years later, he’s now using all that hard-earned firsthand knowledge of conspiracies, corruption and high finance to weave his tales. Legg’s books pulse with authenticity.

His series have excited nearly a million readers around the world. Although he refused an offer to make a television movie about his life as a teenage millionaire, his autobiography is in the works. There has also been interest from Hollywood to turn his thrillers into films. With any luck, one day you’ll see your favorite characters on screen.

Legg now writes full time – his favorite endeavor ever! For more information, visit BrandtLegg.com, or to contact Brandt directly, email him: Brandt@BrandtLegg.com, he loves to hear from readers and always responds!

Cant contro nature

I loved the gist of the novel, but some scientic terms and concepts were beyond my understanding. A scientiste create ways robcontrol the weatger, the wind guided by his desire to do some good to he world. He thought that by giving his invention to the world powers they could not use it, without risking anihilation themselves. The story develops as fast pace, lots of violence, friendship is tested at all turns, love and betrayal ran rampant. The danger is somewhat controlled, but for how long? It doesn't matter the reasons, man can not control nature, man can not be for act as god.

Third Book in Series Delivers!

Chasing Wind, written by Brandt Legg, is the third book in the Chase Wen (formerly Chase Malone) Thriller series. This story is a fast paced, high energy, thrill ride from the subject matter in the book to the multiple dangerous situations being navigated throughout. One of the things I have most enjoyed through books 1 - 3 is that even through the considerable personal loses that Chase Malone has had, he works at keeping a positive attitude and at pushing forward. I am looking forward to reading the fourth book in this series.

Weather gods

This is a gripping story you wont want to put down. Brilliant Lindy has developed computer software to control weather. He can produce horrible storms with deadly results.
He wants to give his invention to all countries so it won't be used as a weapon.
China wants it all to themselves as do other countries. This leads to a dangerous and murderous situation. You will sit on the edge of your chair with this one.

This time Chase and Wen are trying against all the odds to save his extremely brilliant if crazy friend. Lindy is a brilliant scientist who has produced a way of controlling the weather. The trouble is the Chinese, the Americans, the Russians and an unknown group are all out to kill them all. This is an incredible story that you're unable to put down. Totally recommend this brilliantly written thriller...

This was a very deep look at what someone could do to change the world. While reading this , it was terrifying to think something like this could happen. A lot of jargon that we hard to follow at times, but once you get the idea what is the goal, it becomes an exciting and scary thought of it really happening. The characters were great an there was one kick ass chick who saved the day.😷😷😷😷😷

The Wind is all action.

The Wind is all action, but there was something missing. Maybe to much to technical and not enough description of characters and surroundings. The MSS was so large and yet 3 people kill them all without getting shot themselves, not counting other countries hunting them. To much faults action for action.

Excellent!

As others of Brandt's books that I have read, this story was really fantastic! I love the intricate plots, and the hints of government actions (true or not) that drive his plots.

Action packed techno-thriller. What would you do if you controlled the weather? That's what Lindy (Curtis Lindbergh) attempted to do and was successful - only it came at a big price (his life), as he was pursued by many countries, governments and private individuals. Excellent read!

High action from the first page to the last. Had to force myself to put it down to get my housework done. Brandt does not disappoint and keeps you on the edge of your seat in each book. Will be reading the next one since I know I will enjoy the ride.

Good book (I have to admit that I skimmed over some of the really technical parts). The protagonists are brilliant and unbeatable - I like that in a character. I rate this one 4.8 stars.

Fast pace and reads like a James Bond book. Best duo ever, know each other's moves helped by the Astronaut occasionally. Will read more Chasing novels (this one was my fourth).

‘Where is home anymore, and when will we get there?’

One of the reasons Pacific Northwest author Brandt Legg has been so successful in his writing and publishing and selling his books is his magisterial management of his website. From his biographical data we learn that he is ‘a former child prodigy who turned a hobby into a multi-million dollar empire. At eight, Brandt's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business. National media dubbed him the Teen Tycoon; but by the time he reached his twenties, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties, lost his entire fortune . . . and ended up serving time in federal prison for financial improprieties.’ Or as Brandt shares, ‘Twenty-five years ago, sitting in a hot, humid federal prison cell in Virginia, I first dreamed of being not just a writer, but a writer who could earn a living, support a family and keep writing. But I had dropped out of high school, having only completed tenth grade English. As I sat on that metal cot, penniless and heavily in debt, with almost a year left on my sentence, it seemed an impossible dream. Still, for more than two decades, while doing everything but writing, I somehow kept the dream alive. Amazon's KDP changed everything.’ One year later he began anew in retail and real estate. In the more than two decades since, his life adventures have led him through magazine publishing, a newspaper column, photography, FM radio, CD production and concert promotion.’ He is also a gifted landscape photographer.

CHASING WIND is another fine episode of the Chase Wen Thrillers, a series that follows Brandt’s chosen genre of Techno thrillers. The potency of his skillful writing is evident from the first page of this fine novel: ‘Chase Malone stood near the center of the largest and oldest outdoor markets in South America, lost among thousands of locals and tourists. Hiding in plain sight, where no one would think to look, had become his life. Weeks away from his thirtieth birthday, the billionaire considered himself lucky to be alive…’ And immediately joined by his partner Wen Sung, a new adventure ensues.

The plot – ‘The rain is wrong, the temperatures upside down, and the wind is definitely not right. Controlling the weather has long been a quest of humanity, and a military secret for decades. Now it has gone beyond simple cloud seeding and the consequences could be dire. A storm is coming. Chase Malone, a brilliant tech-billionaire, and Wen Sung, a deadly agent, while on the run themselves, must find the man who has discovered a way to manipulate the weather before his invention falls into the wrong hands and makes Earth uninhabitable. Control the weather? When it rains it pours!’

This is yet another fine thriller novel by Brandt Legg, fast becoming one of the more important writers in the thriller genre. Recommended.
