The Moslem Christ: The Truth to Christ's Person & Mission can be shown to all those in Islam from their own Quran

Rate this book
What do Moslems believe about Jesus? What are the deep significances attached to the names they assign Jesus in the Koran? What does the Koran teach about Christ's life, deeds, teachings, his crucifixion and his Coming Again? And how does any Christian reach a Moslem with the truth of who Christ really is without alienating them? All this and much more is answered in this scholarly yet very readable work by a Christian missionary to the Moslem World.

Samuel Zwemer is the historical giant in Christian missions to Muslims. This book is an excellent example of his scholarly genius and passionate heart that Islamic lands hear the true gospel concerning Jesus.

My lower rating of this book is not a reflection on its content. Especially, the last half of the book is an incredible journey through Quranic texts, Islamic teachings and Biblical Scriptures in a way that helps the modern believer effectively share his/her faith with the Muslim neighbor. The closing recommendations are brazenly devoted to Christ and are very stirring.

The weaknesses of this book are not many. I did struggle with the first half of the work because I do not speak Arabic and there are many references to key texts in that language (the same is true for some quotes in French which for me was alright). Also, there were major frustrations with the formatting of the book.

There were many times when the text jumped around and I had to piece together the correct sequence of the paragraphs. Also, when there are footnotes those are embedded in the text, again causing a disjointed reading experience. Finally, there is a preponderance of typos that I suppose is caused by the scanning process. At times the text is not legible.

Taking all this into consideration, this book is most certainly worthy of the efforts I made to read through it. If there is a better Kindle version I recommend that but if no other option is available then I strongly encourage readers to mine through the formatting issues to arrive at an incredible wealth of wisdom and godly compassion.

Powerful, closing with some thoughts on how a proper conception of the Trinity is necessary for the church as she considers Islam.
