Sometimes a pirate has to choose between love and booty...
Fleet lawyer Violet Newfield reluctantly agreed to defend a rogue pirate captain against murder charges, but never expected to be kidnapped in his dramatic prison escape. When Faros ignores all legal precedent and drags her into ungoverned space on his pirate ship, she'll do whatever it takes to get free and back to her friends on the Galaxos before she's implicated in any crimes.
Xaravian captain Faros has a deadline: if he doesn't pay a debt in less than a week, his ship and crew are forfeit. And the Tyboli are not known for giving extensions. The last thing he needs is the sexy Earther distracting him from the mission, but he can't help noticing her fiery temper and strict adherence to the law. He's just waiting for the opportunity to corrupt her...
When time runs out and they face the choice of saving themselves or an innocent crew, will Faros choose his love of the Earther over money and his ship, and do the right thing?
Faros is the brother to Frrar and in Maisy's story he was a complete jerk that I didn't really like no matter the for instances that made him act like a dick. But I can't help myself I want to see violet get her story and I'm curious about the crew on the Sraibur. What I did like about this book was the action, adventure and out right crash passion between Farsoand Violet. The banter was oftentimes funny but also super frustrating. Violet is strong sexy and so smart she knows her law and knows how to wield her words like the sharpest of blades. Faros, was sexy, dangerous and funny at times but had a tendency to Make me want to punch him in the face. It was an entertaining read but not my favorite Xaravian warrior but that won't stop me from reading more in this series.💖💖💖💖💖💖
This was a good read. Karos and Violet were meant for each other. Their story is one of enemies to friends really. Violet is a lawyer representing Karos. She is a straight and narrow, so she is frustrated with the space pirate. Karos and his squad have something up their sleeve. Violet just doesn’t know that she is a part of his plan. Read On!
Compared to the other book in a similar series it was light on story heavy on sex . It was disappointing and I really don’t want to read another . This was free to me so at least I didn’t spend any moola on it. For a pirate Faros was a weak character and a dang jerk sometimes! Eh it’s a 2 star book at best
OMG! A fantastic adventure, awaits! With lots of action, chaos, surprises, secrets, suspense, and danger! Hot sexy alien prisoner escape ps with beautiful human woman lawyer(kidnapped), who is fiercely sassy and irritating! She makes him angry, desperate and wants to keep her for eternity if she would just shut up and obey(not likely) okay not happening!
This book was great, it made me laugh out loud frequently and share out-of-context excerpts with my husband. One of my favorite in the Xaravian books so far, what happens when a remorseless space pirate, meets a no-nonsense lawyer? You get to watch two people annoy each other until the friction turns to affection. Would absolutely recommend it!
The alien defendant kidnaps his female human lawyer when he makes his escape from jail. The action is nonstop. And eventually, you'll be rooting for them both.
This is a good, action-packed alien and human adventure, obviously written for adults.
The characters were well thought out and grew throughout the book. The conversations were great! Loved the back and forth. The world building or ship building was okay for what little of the ship you got to be a part of. Will definitely read more from this author.
I love space opera romance and like the science fiction setting, but forced myself to finish the book.
. I don’t think I can finish the series.....three stars for the setting and violet was ok until she gave into faros way to easily.
I positively hated faros- he has very few redeeming qualities. The summary says he kidnaps her. I thought it might be so he could escape and save his crew or many other reasons, but he really he just wants a slave girl himself.
He says he’s not a slaver but kidnaps her and works with slavers.
Violet falls under Stockholm syndrome in this case.
Liked violet and setting, faros can just die already.
If you lock a lawyer in a space shuttle with a pirate...
A new series, spun off from The Galaxos Crew, continues the adventures of the Human females sold into slavery by their corrupt Alliance commander. The Sraibur Crew features convicted criminal Faros, who starred as the villain in the final Galaxos book, and Violet, who's a stuffed-shirt, by-the-book, infuriating lawyer. Yeah, I know, but there are 2 sides to every story... At first neither Faros nor Violet seemed very appealing, either individually or as a couple. But their oppositional interactions slowly thaw into something more, as a bit more backstory for each one lends some character complexity and some sympathy to this prickly pair. This is a good romance, a good yarn, and a good start to the series. I recommend!
The wait was so worth it. Faros despite being a pirate shows his sensitive side when first introduced trying to save his infant son. In this book, he shows that he has feeling when dealing with Violet. Violet may have the outward personality of a lawyer but quickly shows her emotional/sexual side when captured by Faros. Just enough humor to make Faros and Violet interesting and likable. Anxious for the next book in this series...
For anyone thinking this is a standalone book, IT IS NOT. It contains a variety of characters from other books.
That said, the series is SO worth the read. These two were good from page 1. I loved her stubbornness to stay true to her beliefs. As well as his to stay true to his word. They turn out to be a great couple. The love scenes are hot.
Once again, I find the Earth women obnoxious and childish, but once again, Faris and his Jack Sparrow impersonation is over the top, as well.
Is there a reason every nook cover is the same? Seems terribly uncreative to me, especially when the dude doesn't look anything like the Xaravians. Where are the scales, the spokes, the hair? .
What a great start to a new series, couldn't seems to put this book down, love it from start to finish, really would of like to know if he ever saw his son again, but at least he's happy, will definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers.
I have no idea why I didn’t finish this book sooner. It was a fun filled romp through the stars with plenty of action, both in the bed and out. With a snarky heroine and a gruff hero, it was a relaxing and entertaining read.
Good to meet up with old friends too. Glad to see Estelle again. Had hopes for her & Wyzak after the way that he spoke to her... but I think that is not going to be...
