A leveled-reader that summarizes the key points in the plot of The One and Only Ivan movie based on Katherine Applegate's book fo the same title.

I'd rather hand kids Katherine Applegate's picture book about the real Ivan. This was ok, but lost a lot of charm of the original book in the succinct way it was told. It's not bad, and if I hadn't read the original I probably wouldn't be as picky. Probably the best audience would be beginning readers who are huge fans of the movie and want to rehash the plot over and over and over.

A movie novelization from the movie that is from a book! Of course, never going to measure up to the book, and hopefully doesn't spoil it for kids. Having not seen the movie, I enjoyed seeing the actors chosen and how they portrayed things. I think kids will enjoy this simple retelling.
