Lust
This story takes the main characters from high school where Rebecca mercilessly makes Emily’s life a living hell by bullying and pranks, to the job world they meet again with Emily being Rebecca’s icy, controlling boss. Sparks fly, steamy office scenes. Rebecca quits after asking Emily where it’s going and doesn’t get the kind of reply she anticipated. Rebecca gets a new job and starts college part time. A chance meeting at the coffee shop they both go to brings them together and they agree to a platonic friendship where they both learn a lot about each other’s past, about what made Rebecca’s taunting and pranks so soul crushing to Emily. It’s no wonder Emily became a bit of an ice Queen boss. They each come to understand a lot about themselves and each other, why they behaved the way they did in high school, and the women they became. The story goes back and forth between high school and adult life, but the author slips in titles for each section so the reader clearly understands the timeline back and forth. Those high school parts may be hard to read for those readers who were also bullied, but the story goes full circle and you come to understand where both of the characters came from, their “baggage” and how each come to terms with it. Enjoyable read. Definitely recommend. And let’s not forget those steamy scenes...

WOW!
I wanted to give this book five stars but I couldn’t condone all the bullying. That shit was tough to read. However, the story did weave itself into something so much more. The love that was buried deep in both Emily and Rebecca was a lesson in shedding the past so you can reach for the future.
