Reads as if written by a ten year old for a eight year old.

Also, this “hero” guy — named, “Tag” (hahahhahahahaha!!!) — seems Looney.
In the below quote, the girl has been DEAD for days:
“Stowing Kaufman’s body proved to be the hardest. He fought the illogical urge to check her pulse just one more time. His eyes brimmed with tears each time he looked down at her still form, and he brushed away a lock of her blood-matted hair.
“‘I’m sorry I couldn’t save you,’ he whispered to her. Before he set her down beside the rest of her downed marines, he kissed her forehead and closed his eyes, desperately collecting himself for the monumental tasks ahead.”
He likes the STANDARD-REQUIRED “hot shower and lots of coffee.” These are PREREQUISITES and LAWS for this sort of dum, stoopid, kinda Make-beleeve story. These are LAWS!!! (Next, will he — maybe — have several bowls of hot chili and scotch?)
Some sipping “He sipped” in this book (another REQUIRED LAW) and some padding, as in: “he padded back to his quarters.” THESE ARE LAWS AND RULES, KIDS!!!! Gotta have sipping and padding. ALL THESE BOOKS are the same.

But he didn’t hear the pirates scouring the ship for signs of life, nor did he catch the telltale footsteps of his crew preparing the ship for flight. He was well and truly alone.
“As anxiety faded, the pain crept into his body. His head pounded, and his bones felt weak.”

The universe is a very, very big place. Infinitely big, in fact. And peopled by an equally broad spectrum of alien, as Tag Brewer discovered when his spaceship Argo got waylaid and shot down.
Hence the very apt title Eternal Frontier.
However, something was also very suspicious about the attack and one that would spell danger for Earth, humans and some of the aliens that Tag would get to know in a series of violent clashes and nasty surprises as he takes charge of following up on his hunches.
Along with Tag the reader is taken along on an extended expedition of wonder as events unfold that nobody could ever have foreseen in this Eternal Frontier boxed set by author Anthony J Melchiorri.

This probably deserves a 3.5. It lost a star for swearing. However, no f-bombs, so that's good. The premise was interesting. It was a well developed story, and the characters were good.
I struggled visualizing the fight scenes. Maybe that's on me, but since there was plenty of action (which is good)... much of the story I was scratching my head trying to follow how things were so horrible and how it got turned around. It felt a tiny bit like the "bad guys" where storm troopers who couldn't quite hit the good guys.
I wish there had been more sneaking around and less out and out fighting.
So, it was a decent read, but I probably won't reread it.

This series is by an author at the top of his game.
Plenty of plot twists and action throughout, great plot and character development,
Keeps you enthralled and involved from start to finish.

A good read
I followed this varied crew thru three volumes, but there is more to their story. I might be up for it later but now not so much. It did hold my attention so I can recommend the three volumes.

Read the 1st book of this trilogy. Its non-stop action all the way through but it didn't really grip me. I'm not sure why, maybe the MC is a bit too superhero-ish, injuries just seem to disapear! I don't think I'll be reading the rest of the series.

Interesting and, sometimes, moving plot. Engaging characters. Enjoyable narration, nice its all the same narrator. Books are not titled, chapters 1–164. Nicer when they delineate them. Profanity. Polytheism with Christianity nearer to the bad side. 🙃 3-⭐️⭐️⭐️

An amazing adventure continues as the crew of SRES Argo searches for the Drone Masters
Lt. Commander Tag Brewer serves as Chief Medical Officer aboard the Solar Republic of Earth Ship Argo. SRES Argo is a scientific exploration vessel, its first mission to retrieve to retrieve a scientist from the frozen world Eta Five. When the Argo reached Eta Five they were attacked by an unknown alien vessel. The Argo was quickly overwhelmed and soon Tag was the only crew member left alive.
Pulse pounding action kept me glued to the pages of my Kindle as Tag and his motley crew blasted their way across the galaxy seeking answers and trying to make their way to the SRES Montenegro, the capital ship stationed 10 light years away. They'll have to fight their way there.
The super fast action sequences drive a complex storyline populated with endearing characters. Discovery of two new alien races adds allies and foes. The medical knowledge of the author enabled Tag's skills to be easily understood.
The Edge of War
Tag Brewer, former chief medical officer and now captain of the SRES Argo, had assumed command of the research vessel following the loss of his commanding officer to a Drone Mech attack. His orders, also given by the loss of his commanding officer was to pick up an extraterrestrial anthropologist on one of Eta’s planets, Eta-Five, who’d been left there five years ago by the SRES Hanno. The anthropologist, Lieutenant Sofia Vasquez, had been studying the planet’s native biological lifeforms and whatever sentient species might be found there. In typical anthropologist form, she’d insisted on doing the mission solo to better immerse herself in the local population. Included in that population was a Free Mechanic crew hiding from the robot-like Drone Mechs whose minds had been usurped by a strange signal, turning them into slaves for their unknown Drone Masters.
As the crew of the SRES Argo comes together, their mission now to find these strange Drone Masters and stop the mind control over the Drone Mechs. The amazing characters and awesome storyline are enhanced by the medical knowledge woven into the story. The author's medical skills and research are apparent in the story, but don't overwhelm the reader with esoterics. Really a complete and absolutely entertaining story, that demands your attention from the first page to the last. This is a great read, and now on to the third book in this trilogy.
The Shattered Dawn
Captain Tag Brewer and the crew of the SRES Argo defend against a nanite assault
Captain Tag Brewer, once Chief Medical Officer aboard SRES Argo, now forced to the Captain's chair by loss. Thrust into his new position, he has gained the trust and respect of his little remaining crew. He is now Captain Brewer, in deed and in title. His small crew, anthropologist Sophia, silver-bodied, synth-bio droid: Alpha, uninfested Mechanic Coren and the small party of Marines: squad comomander Bull, Lone Star, Sumo, and Gorenado. This motley crew is searching for the Drone Masters responsible for turning most of the Mechanic race into drones with the use of nanites. The hope is to find the Drone Master and force him (or them) top return the Mechanics to full self control even on their home planet of Meck'ara.
Armed with information gained from the logs of SRES Hope, the generation ship lost hundreds of years before, they search Space for clues and directions. What they're going to do when they find them is . . . well, sorta not sure. But they're going to do SOMETHING!!!
The crew has bonded, finding respect for each other as they race against rapidly diminishing time to find the hidden enemy who is destroying Meck'ara and enslaving alien species for nefarious purposes. Amazing action and insight into alien species brings the action close and personal. I've bonded with these characters, broken bread and spilled blood with them. I've felt their pain and frustration as they just try to do their job! I've wept with them as they mourn lost brothers. I've gotten angry enough to tear chunks from my Kindle (I have another) and pull out what little hair I have remaining. Character driven? Yeah, I RECKON!
The amazing story and the remarkable storyteller have brought another 5star book to a conclusion, but fear not! Another book in the series awaits! One or two books from now, I'll be able to get back to Tag and Alpha again! But, you can enjoy this one now! Amazing!

I've read all of the books in this wonderful series separately, and am copying my full reviews of each of the first three books below:
Book 1, Eternal Frontier:
This promises to be a really awesome series. It's futuristic, but not so far off in the future as to be completely unbelievable. And of course, it has just a touch of scientific nerdiness to make you really think! The ragtag crew that comes together over the course of the story reminded me a little of "Guardians of the Galaxy" - in the best of ways, of course. :) I can't wait to see what adventures they'll be having next.
Book 2, Edge of War
In the second book of the series, Tag Brewer and his crew continue their mission to both discover the purpose of the Argo's original mission, and find a way to stop the nanite technology controlling the Drone-Mechs. I thought this book was even better than the first. It was an action packed page turner for sure.
Book 3, Shattered Dawn
Another excellent installment. Tag leads his crew and allies on a mission to find out more about the mysterious Drone-Masters, and of course finds more than he could have bargained for. The book is a fast-paced page turner that will leave you wanting more. Oh, and if you like Groot, just wait until you meet Raktor!

Death, nanobots, spaceships, ice gods, and a Raktor...
Death, nanobots, spaceships, ice gods, and a Raktor... all of these things and more in the Eternal Frontier box set. Wow , it is just simply amazing how all those things can be connected all in one continued story. It just so happens that this author knows how to put it together so well that you as a reader wont be able to put it down almost like you are under his control. I dont want to give any of the story away as it is just too good for me to ruin. I will say this ..READ IT, DONT THINK ABOUT IT, JUST PICK IT UP AND BEGIN READING..you wont regret it ..I know that i didnt , and i cant wait for the next book in the series..

So far a good read, stay up to late reading after a hard days work. Reading is good to relax with before bed. Can't put them down and wind up staying up late.

Good Series
Lots to ponder in these volumes. Good characters although some are difficult to believe in, but over the plot is good. The action scenes are described well, the dialogue is realistic, and the descriptions of settings is good.
