I really enjoyed book 1 of the crescent city wolves series, the characters were excellent, strong friendships, likable, caring, helpful, real people.
The kind of love everyone wants to find, that all consuming burning passion, that complete acceptance of one another, that feeling you’d die without each other, the need to protect each other.

There’s some major betrayal, being hunted down, murder and loss in this book. It was nicely written, easy to understand and unpredictable. Once I started this book, I didn’t stop until it was finished. Definitely a page turner.

This was okay. It entertained me and I finished it which is something already, but this book wasn't perfect by any means. I really liked the start of it, and I realized the whole series was about the same couple so I became more interested. I also liked the heroine and hero's first meeting, and the whole premise of the story. My problem came with their second meeting. Pretty much all development that needed to happen was skipped. The first meeting was short and they were in danger. Then the next day when they're with each other again, they're literally in love and the heroine is begging the hero to claim her which was super freaking weird. So they have s*x knowing that the next step is for her to shift. Then every meeting after that they're all lovey dovey and calling each other "my girl" and "my man". YOU LITERALLY JUST MET YESTERDAY. Legit all development of them getting to know each other or them getting together was completely skipped and just became insta love and them acting like they've been a couple forever, which sucks because I really liked their first interaction.

Also, no development with the parents. One minute the heroine is complaining about them, the next the mom is trying to kill the heroine because she is a shifter which makes NO SENSE, because the heroine's parents are both shifters too. Then the dad spills all of their secrets right away. Like, you've intentionally deceived the heroine for 26 years just to tell all in the first meeting with the hero??

Besides all of that, there were way too many POV changes. There were also some flashbacks that were confusing because there was no transition from past and present, so I had no clue when it was flashback time. And lastly, after reading the blurb for book 2, I'm really confused about Wes, her best friend. It says he admits his love to the heroine, which again, doesn't make sense. Pretty much every appearance with him he is throwing his manho ways in the heroine's face, or throwing the hero and heroine together. He hardly shows he cares that much if she is injured. Never once does it show him being jealous or being in love with the heroine, so I think the author is probably just going to throw it in for a convenient plot device, because there is no build up to that at all. So, I may read the second book just to see how it all comes together, but my expectations aren't high.

Note: I received this (audio) book from StoryOrigin and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

I love a good paranormal romance, especially when it comes to mates. I have read a few paranormal series that center on werewolves and I love them. Claimed, the first book in the Crescent City Wolves by Bella Night was different from what I have read in the past. The werewolf lore is pretty much what I am used to except for the idea of rogue wolves and how they live. In this world, supernaturals are out and werewolves are known about but still kinda separated from human society.

Ettie is a tattoo artist who is trying to balance what she wants in life with her Native American heritage that her parents want for her. She is feisty and a good daughter, but she wants the freedom to be who she is. When she meets Grey everything changes, she feels a connection to him that she hasn't felt with anyone and there are so many odds against them but they stand together.

Claimed was an interesting take on werewolves and their mates, mixed-in with Native American culture made the story refreshing. The steamy parts, danger, and crazy plot twist kept my interest. As for the narrator, she did a good job, a little something was missing but overall I enjoyed her narration. I am very willing to listen to the rest of the series as an audio, especially since Claimed ended on a bit of a shock and things with Ettie and Grey are nowhere near settled and I want to see what happens next.

H- Grey
h- Etti/Etu Blackwell
Etti lives at home with her parents in a farm. They want Etti to quit her dreams & come & wrk in the farm. Etti was not abt to do that. She helps out with the bills with her job as a tattoo artist.
Grey’s brother joined the hunt & something happened to him which made the 2nd oldest to join in & so a blood oath to follow the Alpha. Grey didn’t want hurt anyone but the alpha did. So the alpha meets this women who wrks at the tattoo place Etti owns. As soon as grey met her he sense sometime of connection with her. Alpha & the hunter went on a killing spree where grey had yo bite/claiming her to prevent the alpha & everyone else to touch her.
This story is not. It doesn’t give u the “nitty gritty” when it came to sex. The story really kept me intrigued BUT not enough to read

This was so amazing! I was thinking since it’s so short, it wouldn’t be as good as a longer book. But what a wonderful surprise! I feel like I got a full size book. It grabbed hold of me and didn’t let go. I loved Etti’s character. Well, all the characters were great and well developed. Her and Grey were great together. It’s a clean read. When sex is in the picture, it is just mentioned without a lot of details. Etti’s mom is a piece of work. I know she probably means well but I did not like her. I’m hoping the next book will have more on the rogue pack and finally kill Derrick. If you like Twilight, you will love this. It has the same feel but is also unique in its own way.

The narrator was wonderful! Very good at doing different voices.

An interesting shifter story, though it left me wanting more: more detail during their bedroom scenes, more conflict, more pages.

I assumed the couple’s HEA would wrap up in this book but it actually ends in a loose HFN. Technically you can end it after the first book, but if you want to see how the main conflict is truly resolved then you’ll need to read book 2.

Grey and Etti are mated, and she is pregnant.

When Etti asked if Grey wanted children, he told her it would be better that they waited to have a baby. She just ran away , and now two men are involved. A fun read!

The Quick and Dirty:
Etti is a human that tattoos shifters. When a pack of rogue wolves show up and wreak havoc at her shop, one of the pack's members saves her from the ruthless alpha by pretending to claim her. Upon biting her he realizes that she truly is his mate. They have to keep on the run from the pack until she figures out how to shift but there are certain secrets her parents have kept hidden from her that will change everything.

**MILD SPOILERS**

I loved the premise of the story and the introduction to the series. My issue was with the decision that had to be made between stopping the serum and letting herself drift away. That felt like a no brainer and an odd predicament to be in. I couldn't see a scenario where would someone the latter. I did find the introduction of the secondary villain (the people who injected in the first place) to be an interesting twist. Picking up the next book this week so I can find out what happens next!

** I was provided an Audible version of this book in return for a voluntary and honest review.**

A quick read for sure. The story started off following Native American tattoo shop owner Etti in a world where shifters are public knowledge and her shop caters mainly to them despite her parents unveiled hate towards shifters. The author then introduces the tattoo artist that work for/with he, but leaves them at best 2 dimensional. Greyson and how he ended with a pack of murdering shifters was well outlined. The relationship between the two main characters bloomed full force basically out of nowhere during the beginning of the conflict and escalated to love very quickly while knowing next to nothing about each other. The struggle with Etti's shifter hating parents took a twist in the story, though not completely unexpected, and the story took a new turn that I didn't quite care for parts of. The pack of murdering shifters took off and a search was being made for them by the end of the book along with a little surprise at the end for the main two characters with leaves room to further the story. It was a decent book, but nothing that really caught my attention and wouldn't let go. I'll try the second one to see if it captures my attention more than this one.

I enjoyed this quick and easy to read. I am looking forward to reading/listening to the rest of the series. The story is fast-paced and keeps the reader engaged.

Etti and Greyson’s relationship starts with a bang. Greyson claimed Etti to save her but had he? Upon completing the claiming both Greyson and Etti are in danger from the wild hunt that Greyson is a part of. Etti takes Greyson to her parent's house in the hopes of having a place to stay for a day or two so that the two of them can decide what their next move will be. Dark family secrets are revealed that tears Ettis' world apart.

Will they be able to escape the wild hunts pack? Will Etti stay with Greyson after so much has happened? How is Greyson going to get away from the pack he is blood bound? What kind of life is he going to be able to give his mate? There are so many questions and dangers surrounding the couple. They have many obstacles in their way as they walk towards their HEA.

Etti is a Native American who owns a tattoo parlor that also caters to shifters and lives with her parents. Grey is a wolf shifter who HAD to join the Hunt: werewolves who hunt humans once a year for four weeks and kills them for wrongs done against them years ago. The two meets one night in her shop and he does everything he can to protect her. He bites her and claims her. The Alpha is enraged and beats him almost to death. He later finds Etti to explain how things are going to happen…she will shift and gain abilities. They head to her parents where more secrets come out and betrayals will drive them away. On the run, they are waiting for her to shift to complete the claiming. But the Alpha wants them both dead! What will happen? Will they survive? What are the secrets and betrayals her family keeps from her? She also has a surprise of her own for Grey! This book is full of action and has a great back story for the new series. It ends with a somewhat cliffhanger.

I liked this book. I will be checking out the next book too. I thought the characters were interesting ( both good and bad depending on if they were good or bad guys) and some were funny too. (Spoiler: whoreo. Combo of whore and oreo! Ok, not really a spoiler but totally funny.)
I gave it a 4 because I did like the book but it took me a bit to be good with the narrator. If you want a good book that is quick to read then I suggest this book.

The author drew you into the lives of Etti and Grey and never let you go. What happens when you're forced to be something you're not? This story begins to examine this issue with Etti and Grey. I hope we see more of these people in future stories.

Warning! Cliffhangers! No HEA!

Apparently this is a serial. This story ends in a cliffhanger. I would have given fewer stars, because I hate not being aware this is a cliffhanger. What I did like was the story is well written. I like that it included Cherokee mythos. If you like serials, then read this book.
