When Stanley Cooper stopped Evergreen from destroying the world as we know it, he thought it was the end. But a new threat comes to Pittsburgh, as well as an old enemy resurfacing. It's up to Stanley to save those he loves, and his city, from evil. The question isn't who will survive... It's what will be left of those that do?
Scott A. Johnson is the author of ten novels, three true ghost guides, a chapbook, and a short story collection, all in the horror genre. He currently lives somewhere near Austin, Texas, with his wife, daughter, four cats, a pug, a chihuahua, and a corn snake. He is an avid martial artist, rides a motorcycle, and enjoys watching hockey.
I can't help it. Scott Johnson's character Stanley Cooper is one of my faves. He's more than rough around the edges, he's large grit sandpaper all around. Dude has crazy setbacks in the grainy land of Pittsburgh, but they aren't your usual setbacks. And yeah, seeing dead people might be unnerving but for Stanley, it's only the tip of the iceberg! You want to know what Stanley's like? THIS is good 'ol Stanley:
"My mother used to tell me that every hardship was a jewel in my crown when I got to heaven. Then I grew up. I died and discovered there was no heaven. I came back into a world that didn’t understand me and didn’t care."
Yep, Murphy is Stanley's best friend, and he might have major scars, but the dude has mad skills. And he needs to succeed in all he does now because he has someone relying on him. Someone small, helpless and very much a part of him. And he needs to help a friend who may just lose her life! I won't say more and risk being a spoiler-sport, but let's just say if you've ever thought about going to Nocturnity think again. Things are not always what they seem, and those things can get nasty!
