Tim Green, for many years a star defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons, is a man of many talents. He's the author of such gripping books for adults as the New York Times bestselling The Dark Side of the Game and a dozen suspense novels, including Exact Revenge and Kingdom Come. Tim graduated covaledictorian from Syracuse University and was a first-round NFL draft pick. He later earned his law degree with honors. Tim has worked as an NFL analyst for FOX Sports and as an NFL commentator for National Public Radio, among other broadcast experience. I thought this book was good when i thought it had some parallels to the Count of Monte Cristo. Then I found out that is exactly what this book was supposed to be. The Count is one of my favorite books and I really enjoyed this Modern day adaptation to one of my all time favorites. It was a pleasant read and I accomplished it in to main sittings. It was interesting to see how Raymond would exact his revenge on those who did him wrong and I found myself eagerly turning every page to see what would happen next. Tim Green does an excellent job in this novel.

This book was actually recommended by a friend and I read it in two days! I could not put it down!! The main character is SO engaging and the style of writing is amazing, in my opinion. You can really live and feel what the main character is feeling. He's accused of a crime he did not commit and.....I won't be spoiling the book by telling you his dilemma (; Enjoy!

I picked this Tim Green paperback up at a book sale because he is a local celebrity—former football star, lawyer and author of many other books. He had even spoken at the middle-senior high school where I worked. I picked the book up from my bookcase when Mr. Green recently disclosed his diagnosis of ALS—amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the disease that took my paternal grandmother four months before I was born.
The book was full of twists and turns highlighting the
Life of Syracuse attorney Raymond White who has connections with several Native Americans and the mob. What kept my interest was the many references to upstate New York locales such as Auburn prison, Skaneateles, Akwesasne Indian reservation and casino, and Syracuse University.
There is much partner-swapping, violence and mob activity, much of which I readily admit to not understanding. I think this book would make a good movie

I don't have a problem with retellings of classic stories. But I DO have a problem with the non-disclosure of the fact. Nowhere in the details of my edition did it say something like, 'A modern-day Count of Monte Christo.' Instead, it baited me with the promise of an exciting but ambiguous tale of injustice and revenge...so only when I was a decent way into it I thought, 'Wait a minute, I know how this goes...'

I enjoy retellings and remakes when I'm prepared for them; when it's what I want to read at that time. But because it hadn't been disclosed in this instance, so I was anticipating something new, its parallels were essentially spoilers — I knew how the story would go, even though I was a long way from the back of the book.

Such a duping cost its star-rating, from me, dearly.

Няма вариант да не правя аналог с Граф Монте Кристо, понеже тази книга е точно това - съвременна версия на прочутата творба на Александър Дюма. Реймънд Уайт е Едмонд Дантес, Лексис е Мерцедес, Франк е Фернан, Лестър Коул е абат Фариа, Рангъл е Данглар, Вилей е Вилфор, Барт е Джакопо и тнн..
Тук обаче липсва дълбочина на героите. Действието е мудно, особено през втората половина, вместо да нараства напрежението сякаш спада. Липсват още мащабът и атмосферата на Граф Монте Кристо. Самата книга беше повече приключенски, романтичен роман отколкото трилър.
Образът на Реймънд е досущ като на този на Едмонд Дантес. Той е от средната класа, наполовина индианец, но е трудолюбив и с добро сърце. След бягството си от затвора Реймънд Уайт приема името но покойният син на своя наставник Лестър - Сет Коул. Прероденият Сет Коул има една единствена цел – да си отмъсти на предателите и за да я изпълни не щади както средства, така и хора. Така както се жертват пешки в шаха Сет е готов да пожертва случайни невинни хора, които по ирония на съдбата са в някакви отношения с враговете му. Той харчи с лека ръка от огромното си богатство, на което би завидял и арабски шейх, само и само нещата да се случат по начина, по които ги е планирал.
За образите на лошите дори няма да изпадам в подробности понеже те са клиширани отвсякъде.
Раздвоен съм. От една страна не изобщо не е лесно да напишеш съвременно произведение базирано на класическа творба от такъв ранг. Обаче от друга страна от цялата творба лъха една посредственост без сериозен опит да се надгради оригиналната история. Вмъкването на Хелена е все пак някакъв опит за развиване на сюжета в посока различна от Монте Кристо, но и нейният образ подобно на останалите е доста повърхностен.
Беше ми интересно да проследя как Реймънд отмъщава на онези, които опитаха да го унищожат. Отмъщението обаче ми се стори прекалено преекспонирано, дори и сравнено с това на Граф Монте Кристо. Тим Грийн със сигурност може и по-добре от това!

This book is called Exact revenge and it is by Tim Green. I have read a few Tim Green books in the past and they have all been amazing to me. this book is about a guy named Raymond white. It starts with him being stuck in jail for twenty years. And got put into jail because of a murder that he got blamed for. All Raymond was trying to do was to fine the person that actually committed the crime and get himself out of jail for doing nothing. But before all this murdering came into the story, he had everything that people wished for in life. A beautiful wife that he married, wealth, and a well going job. All of this led up to the mysterious murder. But as Raymond was still in jail he made a new friend, Lester Cole. And together they teamed up and tried to escape jail, and go back to the doors of the past. read the book to see what happens next. I would recommend this book to people who like to read books that they cannot put down. When I read this book, it was super good, but also confusing at times, but most of the time I just couldn't put the book down. And i also recommend this book to those people that like books with a mysterious twist to them.

This book seemed to lack a "soul" - there was no feeling of the suffering, pain, and hopelessness that Raymond endured for decades. There was also no feeling of the satisfaction, vengeance, and/or redemption he got after exacting revenge on the evil-doers. The author tells a story with many facets and complexities but without the richness and fullness that such a story deserves. I guess I will have to read an unabridged version of The Count of Monte Cristo as many of the other reviewers have suggested.

This was a fun commute book. The first half is all "Shawshank Redemption", the second half is the most twisted, complex revenge you could plan with a few billion dollars at your disposal. This is the first book I read by this author and I enjoyed it very much. It was very suspenseful until the end. Raymond White was confined to a maximum security for a murder he did not commit. When he escapes, he creates a whole new life for himself and the ability to make those who wronged him pay. The storyline was a very good one. There were at times what seemed to be more information than was needed, so that is why it did not receive a 5 star review. However, I would definitely recommend it and would love to see it as a movie.

3.5 or 3 for imitating the Count of Monte Cristo which many readers may not have read. Boost it to a 4 if that is not an issue for you. The first half was the best. The second half was ingenious, but not believable. Suspend your disbelief and just keep reading. It is a fast journey. The author never delves into Raymond’s emotions as he has his revenge. Some of his revenge tactics are clever.

This is a new author for me. I may try and find another book by him. He is talented, and his descriptions of surroundings and people are very good.

The book had a lot of potential. Most of the characters are very likeable except for the woman he chooses in the end. From the beginning, she not likeable and it never gets better throughout the book. I liked the plot and the storyline but he lost me with the ending. Just didn't care for it. In the end, most people want the hero to be rewarded, but in this case, the guy loses in the end. Recommend but be ready to be disappointed.

I read this book up until Chapter 9 and had to put it down. This book is nothing but a rip off of the Count of Monte Cristo just modern and with foul language and sexual content. The book is garbage and nothing but a cheap copy of another man's genius. Every copy of this book should be burnt. Don't read this book, just get a life and read The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas.

Revenge how sweet it is!!!

Good old story of revenge carried out wonderfully by Seth Cole aka Raymond White. The author did a good job keeping the suspense going through the entire book. There were twist and turns they had me on the e she of the next page. I definitely recommend!

Many years since I have read a book by Tim Green. This is a very good thriller about a guy who is framed for murder and escapes from prison 20 years later. It’s then the he “exacts” revenge on those who framed him. Good entertainment but not realistic/believable.
