Mae is a fearless woman who grew up in a poor family in Massachusetts.
She struggles for independence and respect in the world. For years, she felt as though she was just an object. She wants to be loved for who she is, not what she looks like. When her father tried to force her to marry the local banker, she decided to form her own destiny and answer a mail-order bride ad.
Scott is now a ghost of his former self. He used to be the beloved town sheriff for years. During a horrific accident, he lost his fiance and one side of his face got disfigured. Having to live with his own failure, he turned in his badge and set off to live as a recluse.
When Scott meets Mae, he'll try to push her away. He fears to get close to anyone because he couldn’t save the love of his life last time she needed him. But, as Mae's life is threatened by an outlaw gang, he will have to tame his inner demons and rise above fear.
Mae was determined to break free from her old life. Will she be able to break through Scott's defenses and help him redeem himself? Or will his past ruin her dreams forever?
If you like fast-paced clean romance and action-packed stories, you won't be able to put down this addictive Novel by Ember Pierce.
"A Fearless Bride For A Wounded Rancher" is a stand-alone Western Historical Romance Novel of approximately 500 pages.
A 5star for me great plot lots of action and real to life for the the time period it was written love this author and will be looking for great book from them. This book is great for young girls and ladies any age and will meet men's need for adventure.
Love the western gene and action was page turning we all have hard times we go thru. Take time to look for Ember pierce other books.
Not a bad story just did not hold my attention. She becomes a Mail Order Bride to escape an arranged marriage. He use to be s Sherriff but was left scarred in an accident so lives as a recluse. She becomes the heroine and with his help saves their town from outlaws. HEA ending.
Enjoyed Maes and Scotts adventure. Great writing but needs some proof reading. Some are really an intrusion on your mindset as you are floating along with the story line. The last page misspelled Maes name.
Though I like the idea of the book, so much time was spent on the back story that I found myself praying for it to end. There were several syntax errors, and it would appear that there had been no one to proof or edit the book. Disappointing book!
A beautiful clean western romance that I would recommend. Scott has been so hurt by the actions of someone else, when Mae comes into town to be his Mail-order bride who he did not ask for. I enjoyed the way this story comes together. There is a gang of outlaws, suspense, drama, danger, and romance. I want to read the next book.
It's not one's outward appearance that really counts, and the main character in this story finally accepts this idea. The growing pains of a new relationship make for a good tale.
Thoroughly enjoyed the feisty lady that took matters into her own hands and got things solved. Of course the protective gentleman found a strong woman to change things.
Very sweet. Entertaining but sort of fast. He’s a grouch. I don’t see how the get to where they are at the end. But it’s a happy ending, so can’t complain too much.
I enjoyed the story and liked the way it went fast. Is there a sequel in mind.I like to read stories that combine people we've already met with new stories
