The Protectors #1

Keeley's Fight

Rate this book
Heartache and betrayal are two things Keeley Stone is very familiar with. Born into a life she never wanted, betrayed by her own parents, she never saw a way out. Until one day, two men who know nothing of her or her life step up and protect her when she’s in need of a savior.

Loyalty and respect are not just something earned for brothers Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell, but a code they live by. A chance encounter with a gorgeous young woman has left them enthralled with her.

Can they convince her they’re worth fighting for? Or will she let demons of her past control her future?

Note: This is a stand alone HEA M/F/M contemporary romance novel. There is no touching for titillation between brothers.
This is a full length novel at 50000 words.

I've had the opportunity to read Keeley's Fight twice now, first as a beta reader and then again as an ARC reviewer after a few changes were made and let me tell you... If I thought I loved it the first time I read it, I freaking LOVED it the second time around.

Menage romances are always hit or miss with me and for that reason alone I don't tend to read them often. I know I'm in the minority here but M/M romances just don't do it for me so when menage's have as much going on between the heroes as well as with the heroine I tend to lose interest, not to mention the fact that it starts to feel more like a love triangle to me with the heroes having feelings for each other as well as the heroine... If that makes sense?! Anyway, when I read the note in the blurb for Keeley's Fight, the fact that there's no touching between the heroes, I knew this is one that I had to read and I'm so glad that I did.

Reading the prologue, my heart broke for little Keeley and I couldn't wait for Nathaniel and Tyler to come in and sweep her off of her feet. And of course, Nate and Ty are hooked on Keeley from the get-go and vow to do everything in their power to make her feel safe and loved.

Having been brought up without love and fearing the two people in the world who are supposed to protect you, Keeley was a little wary of Nate and Ty at first but I loved how she slowly started to come into her own around them. The fact that Nate and Ty were alpha male when they needed to be but each had their own personalities really helped me to understand what it was about those two that brought her out of her shell.

And let me tell you, the sexy times between Keeley, Nate, and Ty... Whew! I definitely thought my Kindle might burst into flames from the hotness on more than one occasion. But I think what really set this one apart is the intimacy between them... Sure, they can burn it up between the sheets, but the fact that Nate and Ty can come together to take care of Keeley how she needs to be taken care of? You can feel the brotherly love between them as well as the love they feel for Keeley and it makes it that much sweeter.

I could probably go on and on about my love for this book and these characters but instead I'll just say this... Whether you're into menage romances or not, this is one that needs to be read! And now that I've finished with it, I'll be anxiously awaiting the release of the next book in this series.

2 Super Disappointed Stars

I was really looking forward to this book (insta-love ménage), and it started well enough. I usually enjoy books with a damsel in distress and a knight in shining armour or in this case two knights, but character development and depth in interactions between the three was really lacking. At times things felt rushed and I couldn’t leave reality at the door and believe how things were happening.

Keeley has suffered a life time of horrible physical and mental abuse, and yet the author doesn’t truly seem to consider this when it comes to Keeley’s interactions outside and within the bedroom with Ty and Nate, . Plus, the brothers are meant to be combat trained Marines, who now have their own security company and yet they don’t seem to think about issues of safety etc when it comes to Keeley and their home.

Presently free on amazon.

"5" Never give up stars from me!!!

An emotional, sweet, enjoyable, suspenseful story filled with lovely characters and hot scenes.

Keeley has grown up in an unhealthy family environment, her whole life is a tragedy she lives only to provide, always giving never receiving. Until the day Nathaniel and Tyler throw their sights upon her and claim her as theirs. Now Keeley has two men to protect and love her.

I can't even describe how much i loved this story and how my heart was clenching because of the ugly and violent treatments she was suffering by her parents especially by her father. I loved both heroes they were sexy, possessive with big hearts willing to give her everything without a question. Can't wait to read the second story of the series.

I caught a big mistake right away. Mentioning no one in diner then saying she filled someone's coffee. Didn't deter me. But it was extremely corny. There was some pretty good steamy scenes. At one point they referred to her lady parts pu**y hole. Did not like that.

I am a sucker for a damsel in distress and a knight in shining armor or in this case, two knights, so I was excited to start this book. Keeley has had a very rough life. My heart was breaking for her. I love to see someone abused get a HEA. However, I did have a few problems. Warning, there are some triggers in this book:

I am also a sucker for insta-love and how Ty and Nate knew immediately Keeley was theirs and it didn’t take her too long to accept that. They worshipped her…I love that. Overall, it was an okay read for me. I will definitely catch the next one since it involves a stalker…another damsel in distress!

This had such promise and I remember adoring it but the way Keeley just accepts shitty behavior from the two men who claim to cherish her just irks me. They don’t grovel.. she just moves on. Her family doing it is one thing considering what she’s been through but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

I only had 60 pages left but just couldn’t take it anymore.

Overall a great little smut escape! 3 stars!

So I wanted something a little different but with instalove and hotness. Well this is what I came up with. I don't read a lot of triad books, but I was drawn to this; I couldn't even tell you why.

Even with three stars, this was an enjoyable read. I loved the Heroes, the plot, and the sex.

The h was "okay" but she was confusing at times. I don't feel like her character was very consistent through the entire story. The story and character development could have been better, and overall the writing was okay but definitely could be improved. I would have rated it higher if I didn't feel these things ended up affecting the overall enjoyment of the book.

I doubt I'll read the other two she has in the series, but it fit the purpose I was looking for! :)

OH NO, OH NO, OH NO, TABOO, WHATEVER WILL WE DO?!?!? What happens when one completely broken girl with an absolutely terrible background run into two sexy brothers??? A great idea for a story. This was good, but could have been better if it was longer.

I am typically not one to write reviews that are constructive. I prefer to write reviews that only highlight the greatness of the book.

With this story line, there was so much promise. I dove in, hopeful and excited, hoping I was going to have another example of amazing writing, amazing character development, and a story I could just sink my teeth into. Sadly, that was far from the case.

The story started out building the main character, Keeley's experience. It was something that promised to be a very intense story of a girl who was broken, destroyed by those who were supposed to love her, and how she was going to get through the trauma inflected upon her. Then there are additional characters introduced with the same destructive tendencies. I was with her story right up to the point where she met the two brothers.

For me it was simply things like, she meets the brother's who have an instant attraction to her. The description of her as a waif, who was shy and unsure of herself. Later in the story, she is criticized for her weight, because she was 'fat' at being a size 10. She'd stated she hadn't eaten a good meal in a long time, but was able to maintain a body size that could be criticized? I didn't follow that flow.

After agreeing to go to lunch the very next day with the two brother's after she finished her late night/early morning shift. She is walking home at 9am, gets injured, gets yelled at by her father and then each character has an entire night to sleep??

It was these inconsistencies that really drove a wedge between me and the characters. Least we get into the dialogue and actual interactions between the two brother's and Keeley. It was not at the caliber I was hoping for and didn't really go along logically with someone who'd been abused most of her life.

The grammatical errors and spelling errors were numerous, as if the story had not been edited at all.

It was these pieces of the story that really just stopped me from reading the book and loosing interest by the 7th chapter.

I hope future books are more concrete, well developed, and actually edited for grammar and contextual flow in the future.

I can count on one hand how many menage romance books I have read. That being said, I really really enjoyed Keeley's Fight.

Keeley Stone grew up constantly being told she was useless, unwanted, and physically abused if she didn't take care of her parents right. Knowing only heartbreak and betrayal from a young age, she has learned to trust no one. When sexy Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell set eyes on Keeley, they instantly know she's the special one for them. Even after they save her from her douche boss, she doesn't make it easy on them because she believes no one is ever nice to her without wanting something. Will the brothers convince her that she's worth fighting for? Or will she continue to let her past define her.......

Keeley's Fight was a fantastic emotional read, just the prologue alone, had me tearing up. One thing that I really loved about this menage romance, was the fact the men were brothers so there wasn't a love triangle where sides had to be picked. KL Donn did a great job with developing the characters so I became invested in them. She added some suspense to keep us on the edge of our seats, and HOLY FORREST FIRE BATMAN, the sexy times were freakin explosively HOT HOT HOT! What seriously helped the hot scenes to be different and amazing is the way I felt the brothers truly cared for her and each other. It wasn't just hot sex. My one wish for this book, was for it to be longer, as I wasn't ready to stop reading about them. Cannot wait to read more from KL Donn in the future.

Outstanding

***ARC provided in exchange for honest review***

It's hard for me to imagine that this book is from a debut author. It was absolutely PHENOMENAL and I'm not so patiently waiting for more from this AWESOME author. Keeley is a young woman who grew up surrounded by parents who belittled her and made her feel like her life wasn't worth the birth certificate that they signed. She's has been raised to believe that her whole objective in life was to take care of her parents and their habits. While working at a diner she meets the delectable duo of Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell who takes one look at her and knows that she's what they have been searching for, now they just have to convince her. I devoured this book because it spoke to me on so many levels, its a beautiful story of survival and love which always goes hand and hand. The trials and tribulations that Keeley goes through is heartbreaking and you will cry but know that at the end of it all she will finally realize her worth. The chemistry between this trio set my body to racing and the care and gentleness that the men showed really shined through. Thank you KL Donn for taking us on this emotional journey and making us all realize that even through the darkest times LOVE will prevail!!!

I really do love this book! I have read it numerous amounts of times and it is the first ménage book that I had read. It is the book that developed my love and addiction for ménage stories. From start to finish my heart went out to Keeley and I felt for her. I was rooting for her to get her happily ever after. I loved both Nate and Ty, as soon as they met Keeley they knew that she was the woman for them, from the minute they meet her they are over protective alphas. The storyline is easy to follow, delicious to devour and leaves readers on the edge of their seats waiting to see what would happen. Keeley never had it easy, from being beaten physically and emotionally every single day of her life, a pervy boss and attacked by not only a pyscho woman but also her father after she had found herself a home. Despite all that she was put through, she didn’t let it hold her down! I loved when Keeley saved Rowdy and the instant connection they had, I loved how protective of her he was.

When their parents keep telling them about the amazing pancakes at a run down diner and what time is best to go in, Ty and Nathaniel Maxwell find themselves paying it a visit. They soon realise their parent’s intentions when they see Keeley, a raven haired, blue eyes beauty. A beauty that they can see is broken and troubled. When Keeley meets Nate and Ty she cannot help but feel butterflies when she is around them. When Keeley realises that it is her twentieth birthday she soon realises that she will be receiving more abuse then usual waiting for her at home. When the two handsome brothers she is attracted to ask her on a date Keeley happily accepts.
When her father steps up his abuse Keeley decides she cannot handle anymore and leaves, setting off to tell Nate and Ty that she cannot go on their date. When Ty and Nate arrive at the restaurant to find a soaked, frozen and injured Keeley, they are enraged and soon come to the decision that Keeley will live with them. When Keeley moves into Nate and Ty’s house she is happy to have a safe home and loving men but along the way not everything runs as smoothly as it started out. Will Ty and Nate be able to keep their woman safe? Will Keeley get her happily ever after?

I was gifted this book for an honest review..

Absolutely Loved, Love, Loved it.

Keeley Stone is a beautiful, sweet person who has been beaten down her whole life, if it wasn't verbal, it was physical. Her parents made sure that she never forgot she was never wanted or loved, and that was just by them. Now she works at Fred and Eleanor's Diner, where the owners themselves, also like to slap her around.
Keeley, now broken and withdrawn is working on her 20th birthday, actually forgetting it was, when she comes face to face with 2 of the most gorgeous men she had even seen. They were stunning and huge, she felt a tightness in her chest, a flutter in her stomach also, something she had never felt before. Hearing Eleanor yelling and coming from the kitchen, she turned and was slapped so hard you could hear it throughout the diner. Shocked, she ran to the bathroom, but not before the 2 handsome strangers saw it.

Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell are brothers who have grown up in a very loving family, their mom, both dads (yes 2) and sister are very close, so they think nothing of their mother telling them they need to stop at this place in Austin Texas for the best pancakes ever. What they witness in that diner will have them stunned. They couldn't believe that the gorgeous waitress they had been admiring was just slapped hard across her face by the owner. Thinking this is the real reason their mom wanted them to stop here, to maybe protect this girl. No woman should be treated like that.

This night will become one that will start a journey for not only Keeley, but for Nathaniel and Tyler.

Two men, one woman, and what they become and share together, will have you glued to this book till the end. forget dinner plans ladies, this is one HOT book.

Definitely for mature audiences 18 years and older.

This book is the debut novel by the talented Mrs. K.L. Donn. I had the opportunity to work with this talented lady as a beta reader, and let me tell you, you are in store for a treat!

Keeley's fight is a sexy menage romance (MFM) about the amazing Keeley who had to fight to survive in a house of horrors with two abusive parents. As you start this book you immediately feel like just pulling Keeley away and hugging her. I think I mentally hugged Keeley a million times by the end. When Tyler and Nathaniel's mom tells them about this restaurant they are initially surprised considering the hole in the wall place (and not the fun kind ). But when Keeley walks in and is confronted and abused in front of them they immediately know that their purpose is to save Keeley from the hell that she is in. I just loved the chemistry between the brothers and Keeley immediately you can tell that the brothers are not only amazing men, but loving men as well. When Keeley moves in and the*cough, cough* the sexy times start you better have a fan, cause dang the sexual chemistry is smoking, along with the sheets ;-) Things are not all hearts and flowers with nasty ex's and conclusions jumped, they must now fight to protect the tender beginnings of a great romance. With love and trust they build a strong foundation on which to build and beautiful relationship The ending was beautiful and perfect, I don't want to give too much away so I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes.

"I thought I knew love and connection, but you have taught me so much. That to really own someone else’s heart, I had to work for it harder than anything else in my life."

This is a beautiful story I cannot wait for the next one. Well done girl Congrats.

Keeley Stone will break your heart. From the minute she was conceived her parents abused her. Her mother was a drug addict that didn't know she was pregnant until it was too late. Keeley was abused by both parents so much they pulled her from school so no one would notice. Her entire life has been horrible until one night she meets Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell. They notice Keeley as someone they want to get to know better. These two hot security bothers like to share and are looking for a special woman who will love them both. Can Keeley get over her past and open up to a future with these two sexy protective brothers? This is KL Donn's debut book and man it's good. She bring you right into the story from the very beginning and makes you feel so many things for the you Keeley. Right away I wished someone would come along take care of her parents and free Keeley. You feel and experience everything that has happened right along with Keeley. Once she meets the Maxwell brothers her life finally looks up. They wisk her away from the horrible life that she's been living and allow her to heal. She finally has love, support, friends, and family but will it be enough to help her heal? Can the Maxwell brothers give her a well deserved HEA or will her past come barreling in? The intimate scenes between Keeley and the brothers were very hot ( the brothers never touched eachother). KL Donn did a great job with the dynamics of a M/F/M relationship and all the hotness it entails. Just enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat with the added bonus of meeting future characters for other books. Looking forward to more ménage and security hotness from KL Donn.

This book is about Keeley who is abused mentally and physically by her parents from day one. It is amazing that she survived. They made her feel worthless because they were mad that she was born and they made her life a living hell. She is at work one day and her boss is giving her a hard time and the two men she is waiting on come to her rescue. These brothers Nathaniel and Tyler are completely enamored with her and now realize why there mother recommended that diner. They invite her to lunch for her birthday and after some time she accepts. When she gets home her dad beats her and threatens her to make money like her mom. She takes off and goes to meet brothers for lunch to cancel and they see that she is injured and ask her to move in with them and that they will give her a job at their business. She is hesitate to accepts but eventually does. She isn't sure what to think about them and what they will want in return. Will she accept all the help that they offer? Will she go into a relationship with the brothers, who just want to love and worship the ground she walks on? Will the past of the brothers and Keeley keep them from their HEA?

This was a great read and I loved it! I think we all need a Nathaniel and Tyler. Pick up this book today. I will definitely read more from K.L. Donn.

My Review of Keeley’s Fight by Author K.L. Donn
My Rating 4.5 Stars
I have had the pleasure of reading this book as a beta reader seeing it become the story it is now, then I read as a reviewer, and WOW!! K.L. Donn has written a heartwarming menage with her debut book. This is a beautiful story about how you can learn to love If you find the one and in this case two.
This story revolves around a girl who was born to the wrong parents, she is bent from all the years of the physical abuse they put her through, but she is far from broken. When Keeley meets Tyler & Nathaniel her world takes on a whole new meaning and with them comes love which she has never felt before. The two brothers are Sexy, and Protective. They are Patient with Keeley and very sensitive to her needs. This dynamic trio take us on a heated journey showing us that when you are placed in the arms of truly alpha men your world gets knocked on it’s axis and there is unlimited potential in the love that can be found. I’m looking forward to the next book and I highly recommend you One Click Keeley’s Fight and experience the trios journey as well.

Knight in shining armor….

I admit it. One of my guilty pleasures in life is a sweet romance where the hero swoops in and magically saves the heroine from… something! In this case, there are two dashing heroes and the target of their chivalry is a young woman who deserves some good things in her life. From the start you know that Keeley Stone is not going to have an easy time. When your parents don’t provide the love and nurturing you need, that opens your eyes early to the harshness that life can hold. Nathaniel and Tayler Maxwell, on the other hand, know just how good family and life can be. Steered cleverly in her direction, the two brothers are instantly attracted to Keeley and will move all barriers in their way so Keeley can see it too.

Things happen quickly in this fast-paced story of romance between not two but three lovers who see in each other everything they want or could ever need. Insta-love is not always my favourite but it’s sweet to watch the Maxwell brothers use everything at their disposal, including their loving family, to try and win Keeley over. There is heat and emotion galore in this debut novel, and first in a series, that has me eagerly looking for more!

Ms. Donn needs to work on the craft of writing. She needs to learn to show her readers instead of telling them. Her characters are not well-developed. They are caricatures: the abusive father, the mean boss, the kind grandmother, the gruff but lovable giant. The two brothers, Nate and Ty, are indistinguishable from one another, except that one is supposed to be bigger than the other. The plot itself is implausible. These men know in a very short time that this girl is their soul mate? Based on what? And no one in the entire book seems to think it weird that both brothers are Keeley's boyfriends? Her behavior also doesn't ring true for someone who's been abused so much in her childhood.

There are too many grammatical errors to list. Run-ons and fragments abound. Verb tense changes for no reason. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling errors are rampant. The past tense of drag is dragged, not drug. When Emily was afraid of Rowdy, the dog, she was wary or leery, not weary. The book was rife with dangling participles. An example is "Unlocking the door, Rowdy bounded into the house...." Ms. Donn lists a lot of people at the end of her book who helped her in the writing process. Evidently none of them knew grammar or the essentials of good writing.

Love this HOT debut from KL Donn!!
.
This is a heart-wrenching story about a young woman, Keeley Stone, and the all too abusive life she has had to live and the repercussions of the choices of others that lead her to her present situation.
.
Though, in parts, her life is a tough story to read, given that she is seen as someone who others can take their life’s struggles and unhappiness out on, it turns into a lesson on what life can be like when you have a few key supporters that can show you anything is possible. Queue the two hotties, Nathaniel and Tyler Maxwell, which come across Keeley at a very low point in her life, and along with their family, give her love and support, and show her that she can be strong and in charge of her own destiny.
.
I loved this story because it had all the elements I look for in a great read. It has tear-jerking sorrow, fist-pumping triumphs, hot guys who know how to use the gifts God gave them, and an overwhelming joy when all comes together in the end. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves all of those characteristics...Oh and did I mention the HOT sex, yep, that sets it over the TOP!!

Received an ARC for an honest review. Keeley's Fight pulls you in from the start. The characters are well developed. KL Donn put a cast of characters together that will make your heart break, melt and repair itself. Keeley is a young woman that has lived a hard abusive life and continued to do so until one night when Nate and Ty come into her life. Nate and Ty are very swoon worthy. These two are protective, sensitive, sexy and patient. These three characters heat up this book many times. Keeley's Fight has so much more to it than the words on the pages. There is survival, love, pain and compassion. Keely's Fight is the perfect title for this fabulous read. Keeley is a fighter in more ways than one. Nate and Ty take her, protect her, love her and most of all help her heal. Everybody deserves a Nate and Ty. What does Keeley see in her fight at the end? It's explosive, it's loving and it's her fight for survival. Have you ever felt like you have fallen down a rabbit hole and decided it was time to climb out and win your fight? Keeley's Fight is author K.L. Donn's debut novel & it does not disappoint.
We meet Keeley, who I just want to hug, she's had such a terrible life, she's made to believe that she was never wanted & no one will ever love her or want anything to do with her.
She meets our heroes, Nate & Tyler when they come into her work & she waits on them. They are extremely attracted to her & intrigued by her. When Keeley has no where to go, her two men come to her rescue with a proposition for her & she finds herself moving in with them. Can Keeley commit to this new relationship or will old demons come back to haunt her?
Even though their relationship developed quick, they gradually moved into their physical relationship, but once it was on, it was HOT!!!
You can feel the love Nate & Tyler have for Keeley & it's beautiful.
Do not hesitate to buy this book, the story is truly amazing & you'll be rooting for these 3.

I really enjoyed this book & look forward to what you have planned in the future for us!!

Heartbreakingly good! Keeley has been abused by her parents her whole life and was told she was worthless. I'm surprised she is still alive with all that happened to her by her distinguishing parents. She is a fighter and for whatever reason that Amber and her husbands happened to go to the diner she works at and feels that her boys would be good for her is the icing on the cake to save this beautiful angel.

Nathaniel and Ty have an instant attraction to Keeley when they go to the diner to see what their mom is talking about with the pancakes being the best ever lol. Keeley's hard life is a learning process when Nathaniel and Ty want to be with her, but they are their for her and help her open up at her pace and won't push her. The love that these boys have for Keeley is real and they are so glad that they got their butterfly after crazy psycho exits the picture. 3 lives 1 love couldn't have described this more better.

Yes, this is a M/F/M; however, there is no MM with the brothers. This is a hot, emotional and swoon worthy read. Rowdy is a bonus in this story!

Keeley never knew what kindness could be. Her world was always dismal and painful until she meets two brothers, Nathaniel and Tyler. They both want her. They both want to protect her. They both share her.
Keeley is so innocent, she is overwhelmed by their affection. She's been so scared her whole life, she is unsure of the brothers intentions. She's never trusted anyone.
They slowly get her to open up about her past. The heartache will always he there. But Nathaniel and Tyler will replace the heartache with love.
The first part of the book is so sad, I cried thru some sections. You can really attach yourself to each character. Written so exceptional. I couldn't put the book down.
{With her heart full of love and her husbands happy, Keeley relished in the feeling of contentment, knowing she was finally where she was supposed to be.}

A Terrific Debut!
This book is so great! I was pulled into the story from the start. The authors writing is just so good that I was totally immersed in the story and was able to see, feel and experience the story as if I was right there. I found myself gripping my kindle so tightly as I felt anger coursing through me, I teared up and I laughed, and was definitely warmed from the inside out. Keeley Stone has had an awful, heartbreaking life. Then she meets Nathaniel and Tyler who are brothers and her life is forever changed. When it comes to m/f/m stories it's usually a hit total miss and this one is definitely a home run. I want more of these characters! I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
