Only a fool loves a man she can't have...

Ulie’s marriage is failing. Craving affection, but unwilling to cheat, Ulie turns to social media where she finds Noah, a sexy divorcee with a sharp wit and kind smile. Ulie warms to Noah’s charm, intrigued by the contrast he offers.

Noah sees himself as a good guy, but his inner drive to win women over is wickedly destructive. When an online word-game leads him to Ulie, he first promises to respect her situation then pursues her with calculated intent.

Undeniably drawn to each other, Noah and Ulie navigate the slippery road between right and wrong, and love and lust.

Fans of excellent Contemporary Romance, Second Chances, and Happily Ever After (with a heat level of SURFACE OF THE SUN) will love Silvertongue!

A unique, original, funny sometimes and steamy story!

That story made me think about many sides of relationships as many types of people who decide their issues as they think. And I am glad to know that the author showed life as it is in his book. The story has written in a face pace, very amazing.
My favorite character is Ulie. I sympathized her all time and worried for her life and her condition. Being raped by her husband and treated badly all her marriage and after divorce she didn't see any light in her life except her daughter, Miranda. But she was strong enough to start her life again. When she meets Noah, everything changes. However, Noah makes mistakes and behaves like an arse towards her when she divorces with her husband. He doesn't support her when she needs him the most and denies her at that moment. It breaks her heart and Ulie decides to forget him and move on. I totally understand her because when you give a man your heart you expect a respect and support from him at least. But he didn't. I was very angry at Noah despite problems he had with his son. He had to help Ulie with his words but he didn't respond her. That is why I was glad as Ulie met Philipp. But she didn't love him and she had to deny him because still loved Noah. It was a sad moment when I read Ulie's confession for Philipp because Philipp really loved her but she broke his heart. She just wanted to forget Noah, being closer to Philipp but it didn't work. But Ulie and Noah kids made Ulie and Noah to unit again. And they did. Hot scenes included.
The one thing I really disliked in the story that Noah didn't have a protected sex and even couldn't imagine that he had a son on the side, out of his marriage. Same with this stupid Lisa who did this to him, hiding the truth and being married to another man saying him that Noah's child is his. That was not responsible from both sides and it looked like Noah was a man who all time fucked women. Anyway, I understood that this story showed the realism of our life. And it was succeed!

A touching story filled with heartache, acceptance, and how to be true to oneself; while trusting someone else with your heart.

""I love you ..." Chuck sneered and walked away. Tears welled in Ulie's russet colored eyes, [...] "Fuck you then," she said, flinging her pain back at the source. " (p.1)

Ulie: her dreams of being an architect and leaving her mark in the world on a grand scale, evaporated. Instead she has spent, what feels like a lifetime, as Mrs. Chuck Hanson.

There is no easy fix for being deprived by your partner, only yearning for their love and approval. The lack of affection in Ulie's marriage made her feel lonely, ignored, unimportant and unloved. She turns to social media to fill the void in her life. (Social media has changed the way we meet and fall in love, the world has become one). This is where she meets Noah.

""She is not mine to love," he had come to realize. [...]
Noah wanted to fight for her, to let go and give himself over. [...] but he had already caused too much damaged."

Noah: (I did fall head over heels) Not only is he handsome, but has the perfect athletic physique to boot: he's smart, charming, and he is very conscientious. But it's also the way he cares for Ulie. The way he made her feel noticed and appreciated.
"She watched with hungry eyes as Noah closed the door and stalked towards her. [...] His hands touched each side of her neck and jawline, lovingly as he kissed her [... ] Ulie moaned in anticipation of what came next. His kisses were just the beginning."(p.102)
There is a difference between having sex and making love. Noah enjoyed pleasuring Ulie as much as he enjoyed receiving it. Unlike Chuck. Urgh! The guy I love to hate!!

Chuck: his ways of "lovemaking" caused me to seethe. Giving another person pleasure can itself be pleasurable, however, this entirely changes when the person is a jackass, like Chuck! (The writer portrays him as the "villan" perfectly)

There is still SO MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY, its highs and lows. My advice, get yourselves a copy, and read it. You won't be disappointed.

I love having background music playing while reading, so my playlist: Shameless.
A song by Cuban-American singer -- Camila Cabello.
Or ... if you prefer the sound of silence, that's also fine, as some of you hate the idea of mixing both arts. ;-)

Thank you, Sidney Wood. I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS NOVEL.

Peace ♡, Anon ♡

P.S. "life is a series of choices, and we all make mistakes. Some mistakes matter more than others, but unless mortality is involved, few result in an absolute. The universe gives us these amazing things called second chances! The key is recognizing them and learning from our mistakes. Keep looking for your second chances. " ~Sid

Author’s self-review

In my completely unbiased opinion (what?...) this book belongs in your hands (or hand if you’re a pirate... with one hand). The point is, I enjoyed writing this book and I can’t wait for you to read it. You’ll connect with the characters, love them or hate them; and the steamy stuff? You’ll love that too! But don’t take my word for it. Read it for yourself, and then connect with me on social media! I want to know what you think!

OMG! I live in Wasilla and have been in the House of Harley both here and in Anchorage. Glad I didn’t “know” about Noah or I would have been scoping out all the guys. (jk)

Why would Ulie decide to wear a skirt when she knew she would be riding on a motorcycle? Leathers, lady, there’s a reason for them. Ever hear of road rash?

I had the impression that Ulie’s parents lived in Anchorage. Why would they be attending a church in Wasilla? That’s an hour's drive each way. It sounds like she and Noah went to school together but didn’t specify which city. Even so, most people would relocate to a church closer to home.

Man oh man, did I feel sorry for Phillip. Ulie sure played him, even if it was initially unintentional. He didn’t deserve to be treated like that.

I kind of feel like I’m left hanging for a resolution over Luke’s custody. Nicky was a surprise. Apparently his mother was kind of psycho but we never really got details.

I personally have a huge problem with infidelity and would have preferred if Ulie had at least separated from Chuck before she had an affair. Yeah, Chuck was a bastard but there was never any indication he was two-timing her so she couldn’t even use revenge as an excuse. I guess playing the word game came to a screeching halt once she and Noah started sexting.

Silvertongue is contemporary romance at its finest. The story is relatable and tackles some very true to life issues. Ulie struggles with a failing marriage. We are afforded an in depth view of the demise of her marriage and ultimately her resurfacing as a newly established independent woman. The story also focuses on Noah, a divorcee with good intentions but (occasionally) poor execution. His goal to be a good father and supportive partner are great to see. He is a well rounded character, a nice guy that still has some real life flaws. I absolutely loved his character and thought he complimented Ulie well.

This story is a medium burn romance with the HEA being hard won. This isn't a straight A to Z love story with fluff. This is an A to Z that occasionally jumps from M back to C then forward to Y with a detour through a Sudoku puzzle. The issues addressed in Silvertongue are heavy and at times hard to read. This is what makes Silvertongue such a great book. Life isn't a straight A to Z, but as always it is about the journey, not the destination.

This is a steamy romance you won't want to miss. The chemistry between the two main characters is palpable. And relatable. Love is so tricky. Almost never straightforward. The hardships that Ulie and Noah endure in their lives is real. And in this day and age, it's so easy to connect with people in the cyber world and sometimes, you might just find your long-lost love.
