The Rich Man and Lazarus

Rate this book
Honestly, which would you rather be, a Christian beggar or a non- Christian billionaire? How you answer shows a lot about what you really believe. Jeff Smith opens up one of Christ s most revealing teachings about life after death, and not only shows us the right answer, but gives us reasons to embrace it (and Christ) with all our hearts.

An excellent little book that could be an excellent tool in evangelism. Smith looks at Jesus' story of the Rich Man and Lazarus and uses it to demonstrate the reality of hell and the sinner's need for deliverance. It is very well written: some parts felt reminiscent of J. Edwards' "Sinners in the Hands...". Glad to have this on my shelf.

Convicting, pastoral, and powerful set of sermons on the Rich Man and Lazarus that accomplishes the purpose of glorifying God and His Word.

Five Reasons Why I Gave it Five Stars:
+ The most biblical work on Hell in modern times.
+ Convicting while being Pastoral.
+ Topics aren’t repetitively harped on.
+ Smith’s gracious and consistent calls for repentance are welcome.
+ Smith addresses opposing interpretations in a concise and productive manner.

This is a detailed and unsettling look at Jesus's description of Hell. The author was faithful to the Scriptures as he explained them.
