India's first start-up of superheroes with a mission of saving lives is here to kick ass.
Rasiq is riding the highs of life thanks to his successes as an investment banker. But his arrogance soon gets the better of him, and he ends up losing everything he holds dear. Managing to salvage only his grit from the wreckage, Rasiq reboots his life and teams up with five uniquely talented superheroes to start a rescue venture - DareDreamers.
These superheroes - Nick: a crazy inventor; Halka: an inhumanly strong man; Arjun: a champion shooter; Natasha: a Bollywood stunt double; Dr Vyom, a medical Sherlock Holmes; and, of course, Rasiq: the mastermind - combine their unique talents to deliver spectacular rescue operations. Their skyrocketing success, however, comes at a price - an enemy hell-bent on tearing down their fame and reputation.
Will DareDreamers defeat its wily adversary? Or will it become yet another failed start-up? Treachery, action and adventure come alive to make DareDreamers a can't-put-down fantasy.
Kartik Sharma is the author of The Quest of the Sparrows (2011) and DareDreamers: A Start-up of Superheroes (2018). An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he lives in Switzerland. He is currently working on a collection of science fiction short stories and a speculative fantasy series.
Rasiq after completing his MBA gets a very good job in a leading investment bank. He was very proud of his job as it gave him a very good salary. But in return for a good salary, he had a load of work, meetings and so much more. This had a huge impact on his mental health as well as his love life. He gets anxious from everything happening around him, due to this he impulsively buys Harley Davidson. And also loses his girlfriend as well as his savings.
Then his father encourages him to start something of his own. He plans to establish a company named DareDreamers and the team he builds was a diverse with Nick (a tech geek and collegemate), Halka (security personnel), Natasha (worked as body double stunt woman), Arjun (a marksman) and Vyom (an imaginative and intuitive doctor). The team members pull strings and save lives. The whole story is about ups and downs faced by the DareDreamers.
Do read the book to know more.
The story is different and impressive. The characters were very well developed and this was the best part of the book. The plot and style are very unique. The narration is simple and straightforward. The language is also easy and normal. The cover is amazing and eye-catching.
Overall, it was a refreshing read with a blend of humour, action, and moral-message well conveyed. I do recommend this book.
That's the catch with choices. In the moments of pain & misery, they become the source of everything gone wrong.
Don't take anything lightly, my son. If even a lead had fallen another way or a drop of rain that fell on you had not, you wouldn't be where you're.
This is a really nice book which talks about startups & what a person must do in his life. Often we're forced to make choices in life where we don't do things on our own accord, but rather based on the judgements & choices made my others. It maybe due to our parents, lovers, spouses, friends, colleagues, peer pressure, etcetera. And this results in sacrificing our wishes & dreams which we wish to pursue in our lives.
The book starts on a good note where it describes the story of the central character who'll be turning point in the story where he starts his own enterprise based on his entrepreneurship skills & witty intellect. It also shows us his pain, the struggles he had to endure to pursue it. We all faced this at some point or another in our lives. And often we feel like quitting everything & do what our hearts desire. However, we get tied to the intricacies - shackles of life, often burdened with job & monetary pressures. What I really loved was the sense of humour incorporated throughout the book which made it feasible enough to enjoy the book.
Everything went well till the first half of the book, where the pace seemed good. However, just beyond that the book started becoming way too monotonous. It was stretched way too unnecessarily which made it really uncomfortable & difficult to read. The story could have been a lot better. It added unrealistic & childish touch to it & at the same time the language was off as well. It was way too simple. Narration was okay. A one-time read during the weekends.
🚁 The story starts with Rasiq, an IIT IIM graduate who joined as first year analyst in investment banking in Mumbai. After working hard with less than 5 hours of sleep a day and inhuman & insane working hours, he try to survive in city, job and his relationship with Ruchika. He had no time for her even on weekends, even he stole time to go out with her, but she was always accompanied by her friends.
🚁After 6 months, he cleared his student loan and was riding the heights of life, but he was tired by fighting his inner battles. He felt like he was living a life dictated by society. Soon he resigned his job and also broke up with Ruchika. People have to make compromises all the time. Nobody was ever truly free. Rasiq wanted to have another chance, another shot at making something of his life.
🚁More than a month of constant nagging & pressure, his father refused to keep an open mind and asked him to get a job. Being frustrated, he drove like a madman on his bike and met an accident. This accident gave him idea for his new startup. How many good ideas die in the minds of brilliant people because they are two scared to let go of what they are holding on to. Rasik started DareDreamers, a business venture of rescue operations and teams up with 5 uniquely talented superheroes - Nick, a crazy inventor; Halka - an inhumanly strong man ;Arjun - a champion Shooter; Natasha - a Bollywood stunt double; Dr Vyom - a medical Sherlock Holmes.
🚁They keep chasing their dreams and get skyrocketing success with much patience, alongwith unknown enemy, who want to destroy their reputation & business. Who is the unknown enemy? Will it become failed startup?
🚁The book cover and title are amazing. The content is full of hope, courage, innovation, Technology, innovation, self-belief.The father-son relationship is beautifully portrayed. There are many takeaways, I like the plot and the focus of the author on the events and depth of emotions. The story is connecting that keep the reader hooked.
