This catalogue with lots of photographs provides a good overview of the Anne Frank House and its history. The museum catalogue of the Anne Frank House has won the Silver Medal in the competition for the Most Beautiful Books in the World, as announced by the international jury in Leipzig.

About the author

The Anne Frank Foundation (Dutch: Anne Frank Stichting) is a foundation in the Netherlands originally established to maintain the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. This foundation also advocates the fight against antisemitism and racism and publishes the Dutch annual Monitor Racisme en Extreem-rechts (Racism and Extreme Right Monitor), in which the activities of present-day racists and extreme rightists are studied.

Outside the Netherlands, the Anne Frank Foundation organizes expositions and information on Anne Frank.

The Anne Frank Stichting was founded on 3 May 1957 to prevent the tearing down of the house in Amsterdam in which Anne Frank was hidden since 1942 during the German occupation of the Netherlands in the Second World War. In 1960 the Anne Frank Huis became a museum.

The director of the foundation was Hans Westra, who retired in 2011 and was followed by Ronald Leopold.

I’m really glad I bought the book after rereading Anne’s diary before visiting the Secret Annex this month. The book’s layout made it slightly awkward to read having to carefully fold out pages & not bend them, the cover included which is a similar, folded format. I love all of the pictures & information from the museum.

I bought this book on a recent trip to the Anne Frank house. Even after visiting the museum twice this lovely book had new information and insights to offer. I appreciated the essays and analysis it contained and it made me smile but also moved me to tears. This is an excellent read and I highly recommend it!

We picked this up after our visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. I thought it would be a nice souvenir of our visit. I was shocked to find that I literally could not put it down. Fascinating!

There is always something to learn when reading anything about the life of Anne Frank and this catalogue is no exception. Within this catalogue, there are photographs which I had not seen before, despite having visited the Anne Frank House and read many books about her life.
