Best friends Zak and Ray have only one goal in life: Upgrade their bodies until they’re more metal than flesh.
But to do that, they need to find more gears. And who better to help them find lost treasure than a seer who can predict the future and decipher the past?
Funny how she didn’t predict her own kidnapping.
Nema isn’t impressed with her supposed rescue by the Siyborghs. Part male. Part metal. She doesn’t approve of the parasitic cogs in their bodies. Especially since they pose a danger.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Book 3 of the Mecha Origin series. Mostly the conclusion of the series But book 4 goes back to how the cog religion all started. Definitely read these in order. Or at least the first book before this one. This book overlaps in timing just a bit with the prior book.
Ray and Zak have been best buds since they were children. They continue their adventures as adults chasing after cogs. Rema doesn’t understand this dangerous pursuit. She is intent upon destroying the source of the gear religion.
An entertaining science fiction, steampunk romance. Heat mostly just at the end.
A dichotomy. An interesting word. Metal being used to upgrade a person abilities. Could be extremely useful for a pace-maker or repairing joints but taken too far, could it be turned into either AI or dangerous? For me, the word reminded me that tho the author typically writes fluff entertainment, (that I love!) when she used the word in this book it reminded me she’s a smart woman who knows more than just how to write and market a story.
I really liked this introduction to a fabulous new world! I read the rest of the series, although I felt the ultimate ending was a bit deflating, it was a very fun ride.
I LOVED this addition to the Mecha Origin series! Though I flip-flopped with liking/disliking Nema, Zak and Ray were funny and entertaining. The storyline was captivating, grabbing my attention from the very start and taking me on a roller-coaster journey of suspense all the way through the end. There were no “slow” periods in this story, and I eagerly flipped the pages, dying to know what came next. What a perfect “end” to this series! I’m really interested in the Origin story, First Gear, now and am excited to start it!
crazy story of a handmaiden from a secret planet who is sent on a mission and in the process finds her mates in Ray and Zak. Their combined efforts finds love, respect and the origin of the gears they have been hunting for, for years. Things will change in a big way for this adventurous trio.
