Just two months after her abduction, Alice Skye is ready to get back to her job as a Paladin Agent, tracking and detaining Breed by any means necessary. Even though bones have healed and bites have scarred, she's no closer to the truth, and the one man who knows is nowhere to be seen.

As a vampire genocide shocks the city, Alice partners as the new liaison with the local authorities, the job an exciting opportunity that would help bridge the relationship between Breed and Norms for good. Can Alice trust her instincts and stop the poison before more lives are taken?

Or will she be distracted as her life unravels once again?

Alice Skye just can't help it, she is a trouble magnet. She stumbles upon plots that she doesn't really want to get involved in. What is important to her is her job as a Palladin Agent and who murdered her parents as well as trying to help her brother Kyle.

A new drug is on the street 'Ruby Mist' and vamps are dying. Alice has been tasked to find out who did it as well as being watched by The Council due to her past and what her powers as a witch really are.

Fantastic addition to the series however there always seem to be more questions then answers.

Book 2 opens up a few month after the end of Book 1 with Alice going back to work. Of course things are a bit crazy between her job, Riley showing up and that pesky issue with vampires dying. I loved the first book and found this one to be even better. More characters are introduced as Alice tries to solve the mysterious deaths and find out more clues to who she and her family really are. I just love the pace and the writing as I was sucked in and read it all in one sitting because I love a good story. Quite a few scenes made me laugh out loud or groan.

Fun

Ok. I was disappointed in how the first book ended - it was very confusing. Book 2 eliminated a lot of the confusion and lessened the disappointment by explaining some things. If I was reading the books as they were released I would be really annoyed by the major cliffhangers, but as I could read book 2 immediately after book 1 it wasn't as big of an issue.

That said - this series must be read in order. The plot and characters have been, so far, great. They're complex without being "trope". What little romance there is, is really ... Not so much an afterthought, but more... on the backburner. I hope at some point this changes, but the story so far has really had a lot of detours, so who knows?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This book is about a girl (Alice) that has lots of power and the Council is trying to get her so they can control her for them self. Now Dread is her caretaker and the council thinks he has done anything to help her learn to control her powers and how to fight to keep her self safe. Now would be the time to get the book so you can find out what happens. I will be getting more books from this author. Thank You for writing the books so we can read them.

Ummm.. WHAT THE HECK !! I start reading the second book expecting something and this book just throws you off balance with some humor in really serious situations!! But Omg I absolutely loved this book as well ( considering I am a crazy super fan of Sam & Riley by now ) and The author is absolutely heartless to just thrust that ending!!

Anywayysss.. I will write a proper review once my brain has started functioning properly again and can no longer scream internally while thinking about the book!

Druid's Storm is the second book in the "An Alice Skye Novel" series. This is an action-packed sequel that has Alice working as the liaison with the locals to try to help the relationship between the Breed and the Norms. The characters are well developed and we learn more about Alice and her suspicions. This story is well written, with humour, magic, danger, and suspense. Well-done!

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

Taylor didn't disappoint with book two "Druids Storm". It was a fast pace read just like book one, This came with so much in dept into character development. The action part wasn't left out. I would have loved to read more about Alice and Riley, but I guess I have to wait for the next one. I can't wait

Le contexte et un peu différent cette fois.
Changement de lieu résidence, changement de partenaire de travail...
mais c'est intéressant et le comportement des personnages est moins bizarre, plus logique.
Une enquête, de la romance et du supernaturel à revendre.

Good

Warning! There is a small cliffhanger in this one, so you might want to have the next book lined up ready to go. It’s about a 3/5 on my trauma scale, so not terrible.

Alice is being dragged deeper into the mystery of her own heritage, and even as her questions are answered, it causes yet more questions to be asked.
Forced to team up with Riley Storm, she starts to learn more about who and what she is.
Meanwhile, she’s assigned a new job with the Paladins- one where she is investigating mysterious deaths involving the Breed, and it’s not long before the investigation leads to some familiar places.

Alice has some growing up to do in this one, where she has to face some facts, like some of her reactions definitely go back to the betrayal she suffered, and that she has to take up some responsibilities- including those involving her abilities. She’s not a particularly quick study, and her impetuous nature makes her take some stupid risks. It’s lucky for her that they mostly pay off!
We get to meet a few new, and definitely interesting characters in this one, and learn a little more about some old ones. There’s even a little world building ad we start to grasp a little more understanding about Alice’s world.

It’s an engrossing story, filled with magic (good and bad), corruption, and the fact that everything is not as it appears becomes quickly apparent.
A thoroughly enjoyable story, this is an urban fantasy for those who enjoy their stories a little darker and more intense.

„Druid's Storm“ is the long awaited second installment in the “Alice Skye Series” by Taylor White, an urban fantasy series featuring Paladin Agent Alice Skye.

Alice is back, ready to work and determined to shine light in her abduction and bring the culprit to justice and detaining Breeds by any means necessary, but the truth keeps evading her, and Riley Storm (the one who could bring some insights in the subject) is AWOL. In fact, Riley is trying to keep his distance intended in fulfill his role as a Guardian of Order, until the vampire genocide reach its peak and he is forced back into Alice’s life, who is working with the spook squad on solving the killings. There is, however much more going on that Alice is not fully aware of, and could derail the case for the worse.

Taylor White’s writing is fast paced, action filled with the right amount of drama and chemistry to add romance to the adventure without overshadowing the action. It is not only a fresh brand-new take on classic Urban Fantasy elements, but also highly addictive, thus be aware, or better still …. read all books in a row and them just wait patiently for the next book….😉

I liked this more than the first book, perhaps because I had a better grasp on the characters. As a personal observation though, the characters Xavier and Xander did get confused in my head. There’s just not that many names that start with “X” (hi Xena!) so I had to go back and verify they were not the same person when their actions seemed misplaced. That’s when I realized my error. Neither one appeared often enough that I automatically recognized him.

So, Mason turns out to be even more evil than I originally thought. His collusion with the daemon and the church leader is quite interesting. I’m thinking that daemon may pop up again since Alice now knows his name.

So many devious actors and hidden agendas. No wonder Alice can’t figure out what’s going on. I loved the familiar she had to deal with.

Lots and lots of action, so much so that I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning to finish the book. Both Rex and Riley remain enigmas. Sam is a one of a kind gem.

loved the case

Alice could grow on me.

Let’s get it out of the way. There were small errors (yes I know it’s UK grammar). Okay now let’s move on.

Like I said, Alice could grow on me. She’s a little quirky, self-sufficient, and has some huge ball gowns on her, if you know what I mean. There are times when I truly question her need to survive.

I liked this story. It was very satisfying because she gets all the different bros and deals with all the hassle and harassment and comes out cool. Love her power training. Love the little things. Sam wasn’t a main but was still present too, which I liked. And I’m a sucker for detective work so the case was fun.

These guys are interesting. Kinda mysterious, kinda cool, kinda mean, kinda indifferent but fascinated. I like that I can’t tell who she’s gonna have a thing with. Overall entertaining.

Alice gets back to work after her abduction a few months ago. She feels she’s ready but everyone else thinks she should have more time off. Being stubborn she takes off back into the swing of things again.
She lands herself a mission. Vampires have been poisoned by a substance found in their blood. She is then put on the case with the police force (O’Neil, Brady, Peyton & Jones) to find out what’s been happening.
Riley has vanished and is keeping his distance from Alice as she’s unpredictable with her powers.
The council are keeping their eyes on her so they have assigned Riley to be her Warden. Neither of them are happy about it but they need to work together.
Secrets from Alice’s past are revealed.
Again Alice is an awesome FMC. Looking forward to seeing what else the other books have in store.

Read books 2-6 in 3 days so kind of hard to separate them out into individual books so will talk about series as a whole. I really enjoyed the series - it had all the elements of what makes a truly enjoyable UF series for me. There is an overarching or bigger storyline to do with Alice's destiny of which we learn more in each book, along with a separate case for Alice to solve and romance, but the romance doesn't overshadow the plot and it is not the only relationship, Alice also has friends & colleagues. Alice is suitably kickass but not in an annoyingly Mary Sue way. She is relatable and the relationship between her and her best friend leopard shifter Sam is probably my favourite thing in the whole series.

Second book in the series brings many more questions than answers.
I was very busy so it took me forever to read it, which much explain why I am still quite a bit confused. But it is a fascinating story with very colorful characters. A witch cop, stepdaughter of a vampire, with best friend- leopard shifter... Unknown powers she possesses that many powerful creatures are afraid of and fascinated by.
I love the settings, the world with druids, vampires, shifters, and witches leaving next to humans in our normal (normal is relative after all) world.
Part thriller, part cop story, part fantasy - I loved it. Romantic tension is promising as well.

Druid's Storm, the second book of the Alice Skye, Witch Detective series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Glad I decided to read on after the luckwarm-ish first book. The plot started to come together and I enjoyed this plot better than the first (more depth, I think). The character relationships have a nice edge of tension to keep the reader wondering where things will go. Side note: the author seems to have a problem with the possessive ess ('s) which I find annoying, I would challenge that her titles should have the 's endings, too.

Yeah this was better

I did enjoy the first book but was unsure about the MC Alice. I warned to her in this book. It works her being the liaison and I hope that role continues. She seemed less gullible and less vulnerable in this book. Sam is a great character. I will be continuing with the series. Think I heritage tip off from fans of UF which is a super site.

Keeps getting better!

Book 2 is even better than book 1! And that’s saying a lot because I loved the first. More mystery, more intrigue but some questions were answered. That of course opened up a whole new set of questions. I love the writing style. I love the characters and I’m definitely hooked!! After this ending, i can’t wait to see where this one goes!! Excellent!!!

Wow

Blown away by the ending. I never saw that coming, and while very satisfying, I want to say there should be at least one more person dead. This means there will be more trouble from this person. Can’t wait to read about their death. Wait. These book are making me bloodthirsty

I loved this second book. I like that she’s solving crimes and dealing with her magic and finding out who she is without a whole load of relationship drama, reminds me of the early Anita Blake novels. I think the characters are brilliant bad and good it was so much better than book 1 and I love it’s set in London.

Just Skip Around to the Good Bits

Two books in and I know as little as the start the fmc still has no idea of her powers or a better grasp. Just failing incompetently into decent outcomes and operating on little to no intel.

Most of these is just meh filler with no real purpose.

Druid's storm

A plethora of blood products and sacrifices of over zealous followers. Alice ineffectively continues to work hard at rectifying the deaths of vampires and the human sacrifices responsible.

More middle of the road fare.

Still just okay. Not sure why I continued on (perhaps because I started this at 1am?). The characters and plot are fine, but that’s about it.

I can honestly say, the author makes you care about the characters and you feel what they are feeling. I didn't see that twist coming but looking back it makes total sense.
