Rate this book
Erador is a kingdom at war. In the battle for victory, the might of armies rages against potent magic, as sorcery infiltrates the realm.

Hope McKenzie is born with a gift, but her talent lies dormant waiting for the right moment to ascend. As Erador's defenses start to crumble, Hope is imprisoned by a fearsome barbarian warlock, Aleksander Ros.

With no way to escape, her power rises. In desperation, she casts a curse that banishes both her and Aleksander to an uncertain future.

Sent on a quest through time, bound by the power of the prism, only Hope has the ability to undo the spell and restore Erador to its former glory. But does she have the courage to embrace her gift and fix the damage she has done?

This book grew on me.
In the beginning I was forcing myself to read this book. I found it extremely verbose and was cursing the editor for not striking out at least half of the sentences. It was as if the author was trying to use every descriptive word in the English dictionary. I was also very aware of which authors she had been reading to get her ideas from - Tolkien, Eddings, Martin, Feist to name a few. I didnt much like how close her place names and languages were to other authors as well. But as I persevered it became much easier to read and to understand what was happening and I found myself enjoying it. I note this is the first book in an intended series and I look forward to reading any others published, but this book could end here and no others be written and make perfect sense. Intriguing and a little different and a great first novel.
