Three brothers. A powerful kingdom.

A secret that could destroy it all.

As the exemplary son of the Dark King of the Winter Court, and next in line for the crown, Kyr Gaerrath has devoted the last seven thousand years of his life, to becoming the implacable ruler his king demands of him. Commanding the Dark Army and employing all of his resources for the Summer Queen’s submission, and winning the battle to rule them all.

But being the son of the most powerful king in the realm doesn’t warrant happiness. The woman Kyr wants as his queen is forbidden to him not only by royal laws but also by their mystical Fae nature.

After an encounter with a powerful being long thought to be dead, Kyr and his brothers Ash and Nyx, will leave the Winter Court and embark on a journey that will uncover many secrets kept from them; including a startling truth about their past.

This book is plain amazing. I loved every single second of it. There is so much world building, romance, action, and really well-developed characters. This book was pretty much perfect.

Kyr is one awesome character. He is so sweet and sexy. I love how he is so strong, alpha, yet so sweet. He is such a complex character. I love how he developed over the course of the book. He really grows from somewhat stoic, brash to a sensitive and caring guy/fae.

The main heroine in the novel was also great. I loved how she complemented Kyr. Her sweet and vulnerable personality made her super relatable. But what I loved about her was how strong she is.

World building, pacing, and romance are on point. I love how there is tons of steam, but it isn't overshadowed by lust. There is true love between the characters. I also love the villains in the novel. They are so evil, yet such an awesome addition because they add so much. And, the plot twists are again out of this world. The ending, man, was gut-wrenching. Luckily, the second book was released so I could get my questions answered.

All in all, an amazing first installment of a new series. I loved reading every single second of it. Beautiful world building! I definitely recommend this novel to PNR lovers.

I really wanted to love this but this was not for me. The premise of this book looked so good and I was excited to delve in hoping I could find another author to add to my list but unfornately I could not. This WAS super confusing- nothing made sense and at times made me feel if I had missed parts of the story or there were other books before this. It did not explain anything and when it did it was super long info dumps. I am all for lore and world building but it just felt like it was added because they forgot to add it.

The main character was super confusing. One minute he was portrayed as the best king the world was ever going to see and the next minute he had kidnapped this princess and locked her in her room. Please do not get me started on the forbidden love interest.. The other brothers weren't much better. Nyx was alright but the constant reference to him being intelligent and the brothers getting annoyed was just grating on me. In addition, the other brother(forgot his name) was the most infuriating of them all. It was constant smut with him. Spice after spice. In fact when any spice happened regardless of which brothers I just flicker past. It was unrentless and not needed.

I think what got me the most was the fact that they used a incest plot line for the forbidden love interest. Like yeah youre both brother and sister. I AM SORRY WHAT? A book published in 2018 and authors are still using the incest plot. Granted pages after it was found not to be the cause but why use it in the first place. I would have dnf this book but it was the only book I had downloaded on my kindle at the time.

ONE THRILLING EXPERIENCE!!!
OMG! Man, talk about hitting the ground running. This is one exciting, action packed, fast paced, heart pounding, pulse racing, nailbiting, smooth flowing, page turning bombshell that's as riveting as it is captivating. In a whirlwind of emotions and events that pulls those heartstrings as it draws you deeper into the her web. All the drama, fear, betrayal, uncertainty, danger and suspense increases while tension spirals. Stephany wields her words as skillfully and precise as a surgeon wields his scapel. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. The camaraderie and bond between the brothers are deep and unlenting. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another perfectly. Stephany did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Awesome job Stephany, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Story was a little slow in the beginning. Kyr Gaerrath is the prince and commander of the Dark Army of the Winter Court. He has 2 younger brothers. Ash, the 2nd prince is the playboy/manwhore. Nyx, the 3rd prince likes to read and is very knowledgeable. Kyr is in love with Avrielle (King's High Counselor) but keeps himself away from her because he thinks Avrielle is meant for another during the Blooming. It happens when they reach full maturity, their bodies are ripe for breeding which occurs after they have live their first 5000 years of life. Their essence decides and calls their fated to them. They are currently at war with the Summer court and Kyr has captured Summer Princess Aura Lenora and her maid Marigold. ...Then you meet dragon Lord Avra. Avra has been keeping his mother alive with his blood as his mother was hit with a curse/spell from Summer Court. Avra has been protecting Kyr and his mother for years. You find out that all is not as it seems to be. There's a cliffhanger.

Really enjoyed this new series. I have only read 2 of Stephany's books (Hidden Magic and this one) But my oh my! Seriously I must be missing out on all of her other amazing work! Can't wait for Broken Kingdom to come out. Usually I like reading a series from the main character's POW and not really secondary characters but I feel like the second book will be just as gripping as the first, especially when/if it continues the story. I do like that you don't have to have read the Hidden magic series to understand this one and I also enjoyed how Stephany included characters from the Hidden Magic series as little cameos/easter eggs so If you had read her first series you knew who the characters were. Gets me excited at how the different worlds tie in together. OMG that ending ! Such a gut-wretching twist! Fully did not expect it!. So keen for the next book I can't wait! Steph has done an amazing job, definately pulls the reader into the story. I did enjoy how this perspective was from the "badl" side and it pulls at your ideals as it shows that sometimes the characters aren't as bad as they seem but certain traits they carry and actions they choose to do would put them into the 'bad' category. As they story goes on though you see how the characters really are but I still next the book to see more of their true selves. Love the 3 brothers and how different they are to one another but also the bond they share. Omg I could keep going on and on haha. Just read the book you won't be disappointed!

I was really hoping they wouldn't end up together. It didn't feel authentic, and then he left, came back at the end and yep they mate... even though she already had a mate... yeah, no, I didn't like it. The story didn't hold much weight either. Like trying to hold water in your hands. I was hoping he would find I dont know a person on his journey, but no he found answers he could've gotten from, i guess his mother... maybe she isn't his mother because his father was not his father but his mate's father. I'm all for slut shaming and these women take the cake. Not that the men are any better. They are far worse in fact. I think they should've had sex been in love and then she ends up mated to his whore of a brother. Not that I even really liked the prince because why would you have sex with a women who is already mated (completely different women) ... that's some sick shit. In fact, everyone in this book deserves to be unhappy. Probably except the summer princess they kidnapped and tortured. I felt bad for her because the winter court is horrible and so are the people there and the prince got upset because she said his mother deserved what happen to her (which was being cursed to be in pain or asleep). Don't let me forget about the all knowing dragon god who gives her blood when she wakes to make her feel better. I'm going to read the second one because I want to know what happens to the summer princess who was blooming while she was locked in the room. She better not be mated to anyone at the winter court. Maybe nyx the youngest, but that's it.

Interesting ideas make for an entertaining story; dialogue is a bit stuffy, but they’re royalty so I suppose that’s to be expected. Cool magical aspects; this story deals with the fae. These fae tend to lean towards the pompous I am Fae! Hear Me Roar! variety; I didn’t fully love any of the characters, but Kyr is likable enough. He’s the main character for this story; this story is mostly in his POV, but there’s also a dash of POV from love interest, Avrielle. It’s cool that she’s a warrior type! Nyx, Kyr’s studious brother is mostly likable too; he’s awkward, but adorable with his need to tell you all the facts about something. Kyr’s other brother, Ash, is a disgusting manwhore type; his introduction scene is just gross, and using his magic to seduce is just a big nope for me. He seems to be a bigger part of the next book; looks like it’ll be in his POV, so I hope his lady love makes him work hard to gain her love and doesn’t just fall at his feet. I’m hoping he’s way different in the next book; he’s just horrible in this book. Kyr finds himself on a big of an adventure that has some surprising secrets unfolding. This book ends with a cliffhanger, so you’ll definitely have to read the next book(s) to get the whole story. A fun, entertaining story! Looking forward to reading where these characters end up!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book started really slow but eventually picked up, but it was a struggle to get through the first chapters.

Stephany is an excellent story teller there is no doubt. Her world building can only go up from here.

Unfortunately, it still needed work, there was so much that was unexplained, minor details but things we needed to understand this land.

Her characters were a little predictable as was the big twist, which was unfortunate as I’m not normally good at guessing plot lines.

The amazing storyline was overshadowed by the constant sex her characters were having. Don’t get me wrong, I love a smutty book, but this was overwhelming.

It was hard to focus on a story that was marketed to be a YA fantasy book but is clearly either straight romance or adult fantasy.

Overall if a good smutty read with an amazing fantasy world is what you’re looking for, then I would recommend!

This is a wonderful story and a start to a series. I can only give 5 stars but this story is worth more than 5 stars. I love that it has all the magical's you can think of and that magic abounds with in the pages more than just the characters doing what they are gifted with. The tale wraps around you and brings you in and captivates you to keep reading. This I have to say I highly recommend to anyone that loves a good story, strong characters and action packed through out. This is a wonderful story and a start to a series. Decent start to a new series

Kyr, Ash and Nyx are three winter fae brothers. This book tells their story from the eldest brother's perspective along with his love interest. There are female soldiers who Kyr leads at the request of the king. Kyr is next in line. There are similarities to other fae books but the author creates a different world and brings in dragon, trolls, elves and other creatures to share the quest with the brothers. Some parts could be fleshed out more to help understand the world and story but I expect we will get more as the series continues. While I personally could do without the foul language and sex, it's not too excessive. Not meant for a younger audience, but interesting to read.

3.5 stars for me. I couldn't give it four there were too many reasons. This is the book that gives us all the info and sets up the series. It's a great lead into the series and yes it does end on a cliff banger cos it's a banging ending. We have Princes with multiple powers, warring kingdoms, trolls and a whole host of magical creatures as he deals with the lies and betrayals that run a muck. Lets not forget curses and dragons and quest. Yeah a lot does happen in this opening book and it's all great stuff so hurry up and get it and read it I am gonna work on getting to the rest of the series. This is a new to me author and I am so happy to say her style is on point and I expect the ratings to go up as the action intensifies.

Can’t wait foe the next book !

Oh my gosh ! The last three chapters :-0 !! What ! Such a fun adventurous read with some steamy scenes . The main two charectors have pulled my heart strings the entire book !

You know the books by Sarah J Mass “a court of ..” ? That was a far more intense book , forgotten kingdom is about as sexy but not half as dark and much easier to read- equally addicting .

I don’t usually end up continuing with a book series , just a few , but I can’t wait to read the next ones in this one.

I would have gladly paid $10 for this story . Well done ! And I do not pass out 5 stars to almost anyone , 3 stars is usually being generous . I legit enjoyed forgotten kingdom .

This action-packed book is filled with danger, magic, abilities, Fae, Elves, Trolls, family, loyalty, secrets, the Dark King, Princes, romance, a quest, truths, a sea monster, battles, mystery, suspense, Intrigue, the Bloodcroix witch, destiny, heartbreak, dragons, humor, twists and turns and more! This book will leave you wanting more!

What can I say, Stephany has done it again! This book was beyond what I thought it would be. Kyr, his brothers, Avrielle, the Queen, EVERYONE was so well written. This story was absolutely wonderful. I have already told her, but I feel that this is the best book yet. Her other books are awesome, but this one tops it all for me. I was so invested in this book, I lost track of time, and finished without even realizing it. It you like a great book, whether you into fantasy, romance, NA, PNR, whatever the genre that tickles your fancy, you need to pick this up. I can’t describe anything without giving the book away, so I will leave you with what I’ve said, you just need to read it!

What? WhAt? WHAT?!?

That's how this book ended. I'm still wondering...WHAT?!

This book draws you in as you get to know the members of the royal court and those that live in their kingdom. Kyr, Ash & Nyx all have incredibly unique personalities...and I really enjoyed the fact that this entire book was one huge death defying roller coaster of emotion wrapped up in a small package.

If you think you're ready for a fantasy book that's going to totally knock your socks off, try this one on for size. (I do hope book 2 will be on it's way very soon...ack!)

This book is simply extraordinary! The whole idea and the world Stephany created is so amazing and nothing I read before. I mean yes there is plenty of books with Fae but this one made me give up my sleep as I simply couldn't stop! Love the characters so much already as you have all variety there and everyone can find someone to Love! The emotions and all descriptions are written so well it quickly became of my favourites! I already started to think how the movie based on this book could look like..

What a journey!

Forgotten Kingdom was absolutely fabulous! It’s books like this one that makes reading fun. I love stories that draws me in and makes me experience every emotion possible. This one made me laugh out loud, sad, cry, happy, feel love, mad, frustration and left me shocked at the end (cliffhanger). I loved the characters and couldn’t help but scream at them at times or laugh at some of the things they did. Kyr and his brothers are in for some surprising moments and I can’t wait for the journey to continue!

****SPOILER ALERT****

Wow.... Just wow.... I'm just speechless at the ending of the book. Everything Kyr went through, everything he discovered, just to find his fated and to be given THAT curve ball?! So many questions I have now. One of which is why did it take so long for Kyr to find his fated? Did the Dark King put a spell in him so he would be alone forever? How did he fake his fated being fated to another? And seriously is Aura fated to Nyx or Ash? I really hope it's Ash..... I cannot wait for the next book!!!!

Wow, that ending, my jaw stayed on the ground for the last chapter. I'm not a fan of cliff hangers but I think I actually need time to process everything, and rest my jaw, before the next book comes out.

I hope Avrielle gets a boost in the second book because she's not one of my favorites. Her character seems dull and boring, but it's only the beginning so I'm not crossing her out yet.

Overall, it's a great story with some jaw dropping twists and brothers!

P.S.
I'm team Nyx!

A complete escape to a Fae Kingdom

Wallace created this complex world with complex characters that whisked me away to this fantastical Fae Kingdom full of sexy fae princes and shh.. an ancient dragon helping the next in line, Kyr, train to be a better king than the Dark Lord.

One of the first books I have actually been able to stay focused on and enjoy since losing my Dad.

I'm so excited for the second book! Keep it up Stephany!

All the secrets, passion, drama, and heartbreak...this story has it all and left me wanting more.
There were some characters that I loved, but I also had some that I didn't really care for too.
All in all, this book never disappointed.
