Sebastian Frost created a territory where demihumans lived peacefully.
Whether they were a snake-haired gorgon, a colorful slime woman, or a fifteen foot tall Oni, they were free to live peacefully in Pluma Territory. For many of the creatures, living peacefully was something they never dared even dream of so it was only natural that they traveled from all over the continent to reach his territory.
If only the humans would let them.
Sometimes it was guards in a neighboring territory killing them for sport, sometimes it was a village stealing all of their supplies, and sometimes it was slavers attempting to profit. But the humans just had to make things difficult.
Frost decided to make examples of them. It worked. Maybe too well as the Herald of Ziralia could no longer allow Frost to act with impunity.
The man was finally traveling to Blackwater with his two thousand personal guard and it didn't feel like he was interested in resolving things peacefully.
Herald of Shalia is a fun fantasy Light LitRPG/Gamelit by Tamryn Tamer and contains attention starved elves, giant Oni women, naughty princesses, foxy madams, foul language, and completely over the top love making. You've been warned.
Tamryn Tamer is known for tawdry fantasy stories focused around filthy elves, fairies, demons, and really any other mythical creature.
She's a discovery writer whose work focuses on following a character as they explore a new and interesting world and meet new and interesting people...and most likely have sex with them.
Currently focused on Forbidden Arcana. The series follows the mage Jericho as he gathers familiars and unlocks new magic to become the most powerful spellcaster in the VRMMO Forbidden Arcana.
"First, let’s state the obvious. Tamryn Tamer is a pen name. We actually had a few pen names thought up that we still may use in the future. But for now, it’s all about Tamryn. We’re a two person team who does all of their own writing, editing, marketing, cover design, research, formatting, etc. All while working full time and raising kids.
So, what do we write? We write playful over the top GameLIt/LitRPG stories full of memorable characters and graphic sex.
Why graphic sex? We could write some artistic tripe about how it’s necessary but in reality we just like it. It’s fun. It makes us laugh and smile. It makes us fall in love with the characters a bit more and makes them feel more alive. And sometimes you just want to see characters fuck.
But the fisting! The double fisting! The ungodly amounts of bodily fluid! The sheer impossibility of it all! Why that? For the same reason we have magic, dragons, and monsters! It’s fantasy!
Just read our work and decide. We like to chase smiles. That means we like our work to be funny, cool, happy, and memorable. And we just hope you enjoy it .
Thank you so much for reading and let’s have some fun!"
Genuinely great. Easily the best since the first novel, and I think it even surpasses that. I never thought I'd get so invested in a harem novel, but I was legitimately engaged during the action scenes - they were tense as hell. And there's even a layer of mystery and intrigue going on - a certain character pulls a stunt that has you questioning everything, and it's actually done well. The final confrontation was exciting. The plot resolved itself nicely, didn't feel like anything was left unaddressed. I am honestly floored by how good this was.
Importantly, it didn't commit the blunder of having sex scenes from other characters' PoVs, which books 2 and 3 did. Glad that didn't continue on, although it doesn't mean it won't happen again. I hope not. Speaking of sex scenes, there was a point in the latter half of the book where I was almost annoyed that the flow of the story was being interrupted for a sex scene. (Key word: almost.) That's how invested I was.
I'd feel remiss if I did not mention the quality of the writing again. It's still an issue; they still desperately need an editor. It's readable, but could use work.
I really like the story, and the writing is clever as always, but I can't give it that 5th star since the sex/story ratio was way skewed to the former.
I'm still looking forward to more of it and I know they're billed as sexy, but more balance (i.e. no 10+page sex sessions) will get it that final star (from me anyway).
It looks like an editor was finally involved in this book: I sort of liked the raw writing of the previous three installments but this is actually a huge improvement. Way to go Herald Frost!
This started out as a very balanced series that had smut on one side and story on the other. The story side is faltering. The actions of individuals are being treated as inconsequential and overall it is no longer telling a good story.
This is a surprisingly good series. It's not just erotica, but it has an actual story and the characters are fun. Sometimes the sex scenes overwhelm the story part but the sex doesn't happen at inappropriate times like in other erotic harem books. Overall a good series.
The names, hammer, sneaky, dancer, buzzies, wigglers, zizzles 😂🤣 I think this was the funniest Renna has been. Normally she annoys me kinda as well as brynn. This book I wanted to ban her to the sarlacc pits. I’m very curious about frosts future meetings… the next book should be amazing… I’m really sad, I’m truly hoping the next book isn’t the last. This series is just so good. There have been times I’ve been frustrated but 95% of the time I’m laughing. Slade and Grey are gems, Issac and Adamus too 😂. I’m waiting for those two guys to end up with a durra female since filan is swarming with them. Lol also poor stone hahah. So much hilarity in this series I can’t get enough yet there’s so much intelligent story to go along with it. Hestia is very scary 🫣🫢… don’t mess with that girl or her man… Haru, I’m hoping more happens with her, she’s a favorite of mine. Onward lads!
The grammar was better than the previous book. It wasn't perfect but improved. Smut... next level. The end... it kept feeling like the end, then you'd turn the page, more, rinse, repeat. A little annoying that was, no lie. I would've called the last bit an epilogue. I mean I'm surprised Frost didn't have more insight as to what others close to him were doing. How he can be so smart and dumb at the same time... it feels a little like plot dumb, even the character is only dumb for plot purposes. Still, I guess it's good for a character to be fallible. Chekov's gun moment did not disappoint. Overall happy, can't wait for the next installment.
This is the most complex tale in the Herald of Shalia series so far. While there's still plenty of fun and quite a few laughs, there's more emphasis on story and there's quite a bit going on in this one. The Herald is still an inveterate woman chaser with very little in the way of discrimination but he's also one of the smartest guys in any room. Even better, he gives zero fox about what others think about him, except for those he loves. Granted, he loves a lot.
Frost's faith in love is tested in this one while first-wife Brynn gets what's she's been after for almost all of her life. The question is, is he just a means to an end or the love of her life.
Excelent forth book in a compeling series, having browsed the other comments I find myself in agreement with all the positive comments and I disagree that the story line is slipping in favour of the sex element. I think the story line is evolving with the charecters. For me the clincher is Frost the rougue hero, whilst being immoral he adhearse to his own moral code unfailingly. and his situation control/manipulation is brilliant. Thank you Tamryn you are certainly making lock down much more bearable, looking forward to book 5.
Great light hearted LitRPG novel that continues the story of Sebastian Frost. Science & reality are interfaced, with a design closer to Skyrim, by humans. The author seems to be developing the world by balancing karma, actions, skills, et cetera.
For instance, this is the first novel where the author gives women the ability to be super fertile in response to spell for men. Yet it may be better to have a couple important people die, to make room for LIs and children, think do I.
It is a great story with polyamory but ever single ’wife’ of Mr. Frost’s should be pregnant by this, the fourth book, think do I. The storyonly covers want Frost wants but if he really loves them, then why does he ignore what they want? It’s not like Majik or Hestia would let Brynn, or the other wives, die during childbirth due to malnutrition. He would really still be letting his fear keep him from helping them to choose to be happy?
For sharing Gravity, grateful am I. May the Goddess be allowed to alighten a path towards love, joy, & happiness along the self’determined life’cycle chosen by the Higher’Self of yours, pray do I.
I've always loved how crazy the elves in this series are and this book doesn't disappoint! Besides all the insanity there is a great story with twists and turns and I little I didn't even see coming. Tamyrn had me hooked right out the gate and if I wouldn't have put the book down if real life didn't intervene. I can not wait to get the next book. Absolute favorite series!
More of Herald Frost and his crew of misfits and others. Frost continues to treat the Dow frozen well and to do well. Much battle, mayhem and death. Also almost as much chicanery and political backstabbing as the demi humans in the Congressional Communist Caucus engage in every day. And much carnal knowledge being exchanged amongst the horde. All in fun of course. True to the comedic nature of the story.
Ok, it’s taken four books to finally get interesting. As Pluma expands and demihumans are increasingly seeking to migrate there, Frost is made aware that these would-be citizens are being preyed upon and starts to make examples of offenders. This will lead to him finally coming face-to-face with another herald. It’s great that the scope and stakes of the story continue to expand. Really enjoyed it.
This four book series is well written a lots of twist turns a great storyline, with many unusual characters.Reading this series has cost .r a lot of sleep but I consider it well worth the time spent. This series of books is recommended to all readers that like action crazy characters, sex, and mature humor.
Love slade and hestia’s character growth plus the interaction with other gods near the end and even the small interactions with king Darius and Fiora. Though wish the end of the duel with Law where frost is lecturing brynn on her plan I wish reina had a little action in there since she was the closest.
I just finished reading this and the series continues to keep me captivated! I need book 5 can’t wait to see what happens next. Now I have to wait. For a sec I was worried about Bryn but I knew she wasn’t crazy enough to fuck over everyone. So many more thoughts but don’t want to give many spoilers! If you love fun, harems, and just all-around craziness check this out!
Herald Frost is powerful. But is he powerful enough to protect his people from a mad rival Herald and his army? Did his wife Bryn betray them? I like the action, humor, and romance/lust. I look forward to book 5.
Awsome series brought this book and couldn't put it down till I finished. The way she describe the characters it seams they are real people. The action and sex scenes are so hot can't wait for next book
Tamryn Tamer has managed to write an exciting, intriguing and more sophisticated harem adventure then most of her peers. Sexy, evocative and always fun to read, I couldn't put it down and now I am waiting excitedly for her next effort. Nuff said!
I tend to stop reading a series after the first few books as the story and characters no longer hold my attention. The herald series has kept me interested and I look forward to the next one.
Harem book so well written I could skip all the naughty bits and still love. I strongly recommend, Herald Frost is quickly becoming one of my favorite fantasy characters, along with sidekick Slade the elf f$@*%&
I have enjoyed every Shelia book. Could heaven be so sweet? Probably not! It's a wonderful world of many varieties of bipedal life..... and all of them quite lusty in their pursuits.
If you liked the previous books you're going to love this one. A great plot and empire building. The mc using his knowledge to build up his people. looking forward to Future pay offs the author has set up.
I have huge amounts of love for this series. The characters are fun, the story move quickly, and the steamy scenes are above average. Great fun read and I really looking forward to the next. The Herald is a badass!!!!
So dang funny. This whole series is a fun time and this latest book is no different. Herald Frost is up to his usual antics and the elves are entertaining as always. Book 4 has a good story with good pacing. It was a good read that I finished in one sitting.
The author never disappoints. Fun characters, great fight scenes, amusing situations. A scene or two for Manga fans... who doesn't love their Kina? Good plot. Downside? I have to wait for the sequel, Damnit.
I was in a bad mood, but reading this story significantly bettered my day. The humor was great, the character development was good and the sex scenes were well placed and spaced out.
