13 books351 followersRamy Vance lives in Edinburgh with his wife, recently born child and imaginary dog where he enjoys a beautiful city, whisky (Scottish spelling, not mine) and long walks. All he really wants is to quit his job and write stories based in Paradise Lot. All he really hopes for is that his child is healthy (ten fingers, ten toes and at least two eyes is a good start) and that eventually he can can get a real dog so that he can have an excuse to go on even more long walks.

Interesting read
Really liked that Jean was a normal guy. Not drop dead gorgeous, not over the top strong or athletic but a good soul who did terrible bad things. He was conflicted and somehow ends up doing right and loving completely. He really shouldn’t have been a hero. He was not great but he does grab ahold of you and you want to keep reading to know what happens.
The book has many layers of gray. Great evolution of characters.

Another great series
This was a really long and intense series. The action never seemed to let up all the way to the end. The only issue that I have is that the ending left too many unresolved questions and even a cliffhanger.

This set really advances the series.
So much action and dialogue. Not everyone dies but you will want Kleenex. Faith, doubt, hope and lots of bad guys are exhausting. Some editing and possible continuity errors. The story arc is twisty so it is hard to tell.

Excellent and imaginative
You will slip into this world to feel what it like to be imperfect but noble. In the face of personal and world level disasters is where you meet your truest self. Jean-Luc is the who you will see, feel, hear and taste this world of abandonment.

Wow...4 great books for this price and I couldn't resist. What a super-cool boxset. I have been into this author's work since he started the GoneGod World series and it is great to see these now available together. Tons of great value here! If you are new to the series, get the boxset and start working your way through these books. You'll be hooked before you are done the first one.

This box set containing the four books in the series made binge reading extremely convenient; also, KU ... so YAY! I really enjoyed the first book when I read it some time back, but the suspense grew with each passing chapter. The characters and relationships are engaging. The fantasy not too outlandish. The hero is flawed but likable, nonetheless. And Penemue (enough said). Highly recommend and can't wait for the next book to be released. That is, I hope there is a next book coming....

What a great surprise! If you are fan of Piers Anthony's Xanth series or Robert Lynn Asprin's Myth series, these books are you for you. Great characters, great world, action, humor and tenderness. Can't wait for future books in this world.

Great box set
Strong and interesting characters dealing with selfishness, altruism and how to be at peace in a world turned upside down. The characters grapple with doubt and faith in themselves as much as they grapple with foes and monsters. Looking forward to the next one!
