Reaction Shot by Patricia McLinn Caught Dead in Wyoming Series Book Nine Elizabeth Margaret Danniher has a lot going on. Her job and the constant annoyance of Thurston Fine, the anchor who thinks it's all about him. Finding herself involved in solving murder cases—which annoys the law enforcement. And her biggest problem...two men.
For the year and a half she's been in Sherman, Wyoming, Elizabeth has found she has the choice of two fine men who want to date her. Tom and Mike. She just can't seem to choose one or the other...but she'll need to decide at some point.
Until then, they have another murder to solve. Yes, she has to solve it. She has orders from Tom's daughter, Tamantha, to solve it so the police will stop looking at Tom as a suspect...not for the first time. Wonderful series and great characters. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
When I read this book I knew that the relationship between Mike, Tom and Elizabeth was going to go through some changes. The murder brings about many changes. From the past a mystery or in this case a wrong will be right but not in the way it should be. A young woman was murder and the killer got off. But in the end his murder will answer many questions but you may not like who the killer is. Lots of secrets are uncovered and there are twists to this story. I really like the Tom’s daughter, Tamantha tells Elizabeth to fix it. Well she and the team does find the person who killed York along with many other things. An excellent story but the ending is going to surprise you. I loved the book and look forward to the next story!
Madcap Murder & Mayhem I continue to love this series with its characters that balance that line of quirky and endearing, combined with the author's signature humor. This novel brought us another great mystery and more excitement for careers and families. I love when characters begin to feel like friends, and that's how Elizabeth, Tom, Mike, and the rest of the gang feel.
Each reading of a book in this series just draws them closer to my heart while providing me with a light-hearted mystery and lots of laughs along the way. Whenever I'm feeling blue, I know it's time to read another book in the Caught Dead in Wyoming series!
If you're new to this series, you can jump in anywhere and get caught up on the basics relatively quickly. For the best enjoyment and appreciation of the personalities and their history together, you'll want to catch the entire series.
When you start reading and chuckling, then laughing out loud, you're back at KWMT-TV in Wyoming. I really love Tamantha and can picture her determined, sassy face. Then as you read the friends come together to use their skills to delve into a local murder and things become more intense. These characters seem so real I always enjoy hanging out with them and listening to their investigative sessions. The romantic triangle doesn't feel right but maybe it will someday be resolved. Elizabeth and Thurston maybe? Maybe Hiram will leave Yvette? I've loved this series for its humor, setting, heartwarming situations, well written characters and intelligent mysteries to solve. The only thing I don't like is waiting a year for the next book.
This is an interesting story. A ranch foreman is found dead and there are many suspects. We discover the ranch foreman is a creep and the ranch owner isn’t much better.
I was sad in the end for whom the killer turned out to be but everyone is responsible for their actions. There also is a resolution to the love triangle and it’s probably the outcome you expect.
It will be interesting to see what happens next in the lives of the main character. I can only hope that Les and Thurston are dealt with – what lackadaisical characters they are.
I’m looking forward to the installment in audio, but I understand it will be a while.
I love everything from this author ,especially this series and this book didn't disappoint, all the great characters were back again, a wonderful story with a brilliant twist at the end. A great read ( I read it at one sitting). Can't wait for the next book in the series, I have already pre ordered it. A year is a long wait, can't you write quicker Patricia. A great read I'd give it a hundred stars if I could.
Another reason to love Patricia Mclinn. Reaction Shot is a fast pace mystery with plenty of good people who could have done a bad thing. McLinn’s wit and descriptive terms help the book flow. Margaret Elizabeth is woman who can see the rough all the pieces of the puzzle with the help of her gang. Love the Caught Dead in Wyoming services and this book is just another reason why. Only bad thing, I’ve already read it and now I have to wait for the next adventure
This newest edition to the series provides a stronger connection between Elizabeth's current life and her family. It is good to see a truly human response to the relationships she has formed and how the others respond. The mystery/case they work on is one that will keep you guessing, I personally changed my mind on who the killer was about 3 times and still didn't have it right in the end. It was well written will keep you entertained. It will be a long year waiting for the next one
This series just keeps getting better! McMinn weaves Wyoming history & western culture with well-developed characters to create a page-turning story. Dialogue is always witty and the story well crafted in all of McLinn's books.
In Reaction Shot, the past is still very present and deadly, while love is a very complicated and potentially heartbreaking undertaking for more than a few Sherman, Wyoming residents.
I do love these books, I love the characters. I think after 9 books that her love life hasn't been fixed. Tom is the best choice in my thinking Like is going and is starting a new career. I also. L
love the dog, sometimes you can get lost in too much information about cattle, sometimes I just got bored and put it down. I invented decided if I am going to purchase the next book. I will wait and see. Good Reading😊
Yet another winner!!!! I love this series - each character is so multi dimensional. It is very cool to be able to anticipate their reactions and still be surprised by them. Shadow and Tamantha get the least page time and are still so well described that they are integral to the story, always! I am a true Patricia McLin fan and am eagerly waiting for the next book!!!!
I was so excited to see another adventure of some of my favorite friends. This by all counts is seemingly the best so far. I love the tension on nearly every page whether it was with "the ladies of O'Hara Hill" or among the investigators themselves. They are so familiar now that outsiders are just that. Love this book and thank you again.
All of this series are excellent reading. Good assortment of characters. Could use some faster development of romantic relationships between main character and love interest s. Love the locals especially Wyoming
Book #9 of the Caught Dead in Wyoming series is another winner. Face paced and funny with characters that you love or love to hate. Justice prevails in the end. Great series. Cheers Lynda L. Lock (Isla Mujeres Mystery series)
I can’t get any work done when I’m reading Ms McLinns books! Not that I’m complaining. I love to think I can predict where her plots are going but she never fails to throw curve balls! Great and entertaining read.
I enjoyed the first books in the series but I flicked through this one. There is no character development and the Tom/Elizabeth/Mike situation has become tedious. There is far too much dialogue and nothing happens!
Reaction Shot, Book 9 in the Caught Dead in Wyoming, is a fun who done it. Toss in a love triangle & a nine year old who rules the World and you have a great story to read.
I love this series. What I love about it are the characters that comprise the essence of the series. Reaction Shot is a great mystery and provides more quality time with the fictional characters we've come to enjoy. I hope Patricia McLinn realizes that the strength of the series lies in maintaining this group of characters in future volumes.
I love caught Dead in Wyoming, and Reaction Shot is one of the best books in the series. Elizabeth, Tom, Mike, and the whole rest of the gang are absolute joys to get to know. Each character is different from the others; each one is fully fleshed out with a complete personality. And Tamantha is in a league of her own! Great plot and wonderful dialogue. How in the world will I be able to wait for the next volume?!
Patricia never disappoints. Already I know i have to reread this one—I know i missed some of her detail. She’s draws you into her characters’ world and makes the reader part of their circle. Truly cannot wait time see where she takes this interesting circle of friends next!
