I'm USA Today Bestselling author Delancey Stewart. My contemporary romances run the gamut of settings and setups, but they always deliver humor, heart and heat. It's a guarantee.
I write from my home in Denver, CO, where I manage a household full of boys and men. Okay, only one man. The hubs. But two boys. I mean, three if you count the hubs. (You see why I do words and not numbers. I was told there'd be no math in this bio. Someone lied.)
I grew up in California and have had more jobs than anyone on earth (personal trainer, pharmaceutical rep, copywriter, tech writer, marketing director, wine seller, elementary school teacher... I'm not kidding. The list. It goes on.) But the one I love the most is writing, in part because I get to meet people who love books and stories as much as I do! Please don't hesitate to get in touch to say hello, and don't forget to join my newsletter!
While I liked a lot of things about this series of books, the setting began to grate more and more the farther into the series I read. Most of the time, the location a book is set doesn't matter much. And the was certainly true of the first novella. Even with Fuerte and Erica it wasn't too bad except the mention of "cool" streetlights, even though all the streetlights in San Diego are yellow since the 1990s. But things got worse with Trace's story. The biggest problem? Temecula is neither in San Diego or Los Angeles county, the only areas Mr Match serves at that time. Magalie wouldn't have qualified to join. Why Orange and Riverside counties are excluded, I'm not clear. Temecula is also about an hour drive in good traffic from almost all the locations that she and Trace meet and that travel time is ridiculous for some of the situations she's driving it. This could have been improved if her winery was actually in North San Diego county, which has a ton of wineries, too, and maybe if their dates where inland instead of coastal, but this author doesn't seem to realize any of inland San Diego exists besides Alpine (where the feats take place in the Hamish story). Speaking of Hamish and that hotel, the Hamish says its a "short drive" from the airport, but its almost an hour away there, too. I don't think the author quite gets exactly how big San Diego is. More of the same sort of problems continue in Max's story. I seriously choked when National City was stated to be a neighborhood community in San Diego because the residents are quite proud of being their own city. At first it didn't make sense Tate would rent a car for her visit since she was staying in a downtown hotel (on the harbor) when Max's downtown business location would likely be easier to get to by walking or trolley. When she got the place in PB, okay necessary, but when she puts her laptop in her rental car? I about died. Downtown San Diego is notorious for people breaking into cars and stealing your stuff. Max should know better. So while I can tell the author did some research to try to give the book some San Diego flavor, she fell short in a lot of ways.
These books are my intro to Delaney. I absolutely loved this. I laughed, I cried and I had all the feels. Some of the stories were better than others but none were bad. I hope that some of the other players mentioned as side characters have their own stories. I will definitely be reading more from this author. I loved the sports angle and since I have been to San Diego I loved that part of the story as well.
Looking forward to more love matches and addition to the family. I thought I already love Fuerte & Erica’s match, then there’s Cat & Xavier, Trace & Magalie’s, Hamish & Sophie and finally Max & Tatum’s. Well, it turned out, I love all the matches.
I couldn't stop reading these books. There was humor, suspense, and of course romance. I'm so glad Max (Mr. Match) found his match! Though I am curious about the math of his match lol 🤣
I love this series. Secrets and reveals, love and math all combined together to bring people together for their HEA. Will Max ever find his true love or will he forever be the goth unicorn?
Enjoyed this series by Delancey Stewart. Some of the stories were better than others, but all of them made me laugh at some point. I will definitely look for other books by this author.
Fantastic series!!! Very well-written, funny and enjoyable characters. Lots of unexpected moments and plot twists. The box set also has some great extended epilogues - not sure if the individual books do. I had not heard of this author previously, but she has earned her way onto my "favourite" list with this series!!
Each book is written in dual first person POV with the exception of the novella that starts off the series as that one is only written from Cat’s POV. Each book also has a couple of chapters from Max, the mastermind behind the Mr. Match dating website. All of the books have their ridiculous moments and some silly chapter names. All of the primary characters were likable and each book had a couple of sexy scenes, although I wish there were more. I gave the box set 4 stars because while there wasn’t anything wrong with the books (couple of typos, nothing major), I didn’t read the bonus epilogues because I honestly just didn’t care and I was ready to move on to something new. Also, Max’s big issue with revealing his identity was pretty stupid. Anyway, it was a fun read that I borrowed from KU but I don’t thing that I’ll read them again.
This romance series follows the exploits of a group of athletes searching for their perfect matches.
Max, a mathematical genius, longs for love in his life and develops the perfect algorithm to help people find their matches. As the mysterious Mr. Match, he successfully pairs up thousands in the San Diego area but can't seem to find his 'one.'
Filled with quirky, amusing characters (a kilt-wearing giant, a manchild, and many more) each with their own unique foibles and personalities this is a fun series of romance novels. While the stories and characters intertwine, each can be read as a standalone. The chemistry between each of the couples is strong and each story leads to a lovely HEA.
Loved every book of this series! Mr Match was an interesting premise to have the books centered around and adding to that a soccer team - made it something different from all the other books I’ve read. And the bonus epilogues were amazing! Loved getting a glimpse into the lives of the characters and what happened after their books ended.
I am so excited to have all the Mr. Match books in one place. And there are enough bonus epilogues to call them a novella! All the questions and scenarios I wondered about came to life in the bonuses! Pigs, sheep, babies, brothers - perfection!
Every single book was a great read. The only way to read a series is in a boxed set. Highly recommend it. Lots of laughter, love, sexy times, and heat. Wanted more epilogue.
I really enjoyed reading this set of books. I think my favorite was when Max aka Mr. Match met his own match. I really enjoyed the bonus epilogue for each book
