Once again, death has found its way to Rockfish Island’s National Park and this time, in the form of a terrible climbing accident. When Sheriff Lane discovers the victim has ties to an accidental drowning the summer before, she becomes suspicious the two deaths are linked and not accidents at all. Recruiting Park Ranger Phillip Russell into her investigation, the two begin looking into the past. Lane, with her new deputy, digging into the life of the latest victim and Philip, befriending those who were involved in the prior death the summer before. It's not long before Philip becomes convinced Sheriff Lane is looking for murder and mayhem where there is none. But Lane, trusting her instincts and intuition, refuses to let the investigation fizzle out. Will the two deaths end up being coincidence after all or will a murderer be unmasked?

JC Fuller has become a dependable author for me - if I purchase her books, I know I'm getting a well-written murder mystery with a fantastic setting and twists I didn't see coming. I will absolutely purchase whatever she writes!

The Push is number two in the Rockfish Island Mystery Series by JC Fuller…who I must admit is my favorite mystery writer I’ve discovered in the last year.

I have been on a roll lately, reading a bunch of super entertaining books by skilled and creative authors. And this one is right at the top of that list.

The Push starts right out of the blocks with a young woman falling to her death. It happens to be on the anniversary of her twin sister’s death. Suspicion abounds right from the start and soon Sherriff Lane is teaming up again with my favorite park ranger, Ranger Phil.

A new cast of characters is introduced, all of whom were present at the time of other twin’s death. As stories change and inconsistencies are discovered, it’s not long before both deaths are under investigation.

I must confess…I thought I had it well sorted out by about the 60% mark. But as only JC Fuller can do, there were more twists and turns that ruined my theory. And that’s what I’m here for! I love being surprised by the unexpected!

I sincerely loved this book so much, and I am delighted that the adventure continues with book three in the series, False Findings.

If you love well-constructed, creative, fast-reading mysteries, you have got to check out JC Fuller’s Rockfish Island Mystery Series.

I could not put this book down. I love the characters and the short chapters. I don’t want to give anything away so I can’t say a lot. I Highly Recommend. This is a great series but can also be read alone.

Miss Fuller does it again. Accascuse me, ma'am, but what do you put in these books!? I'd like to order whatever it is that makes your mind work the way it does, because WOOOWEEEEE it's a beautiful thing.

The second book in the Rockfish Island Mystery series, The Push, is another whodunit that keeps you not just interested, but keeps you right on the edge of your seat. Did I figure out who was responsible a few chapters in? I did, but here's the thing... I may have known who did the bad deed, but the "why" kept me hooked. JC is the queen of tangling the webs, of creating characters that you can't help but want to know, of little "easter eggs" that will make you say "oh hell!! Why didn't I see that before", of being an absolute master of (fictional) manipulation.

If you want a good mystery, pick this up. If you figure out whodunit stories easily, get this book - I promise you that the twists, turns, and characters in this book will keep you interested until the very last page. If you want a side of sarcasm with your small town unalivings, get this beauty. Just get the book, read the book, rinse and repeat. You're just wasting time if you don't already have this on your shelf... life is far too short to not have JC's books all up in your life. Also, the audio versions of the story are great, too! Take my advice, read the words, fall in love with the Rockfish Island residents... you can thank me later.

Book two in the Rockfish Island Mystery Series was not a disappointment. It follows our favorite sheriff and ranger on another murder mystery. It was a delightful thrilling treat, I needed it. The character development is phenomenal. The plot was so good I couldnt figure out who was who! I cant wait to read the third book!

YES!!! This is a must read for mystery lovers. The banter between the sheriff and the ranger is just so awesome, it gets you every time. The unexpected ending (as usual) just leaves you in awe as to how this is accomplished. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for book 3. This has become a favorite author and an automatic buy for me.

Each book in this series feels like a breath of fresh air!

I’m so in love with this series! The mysteries are really tricky. I think I’ve got it figured out early on, but nope. There are so many shocking twists and turns that keep you guessing! I was absolutely sure who I thought it wasn’t, but JC always shocks me!!

The characters on Rockfish Island grew on me in the first book, and I am really enjoying the antics that go on! I love the banter between Sheriff Lane and Ranger Phil. They have good chemistry between them and I can see the opposites attract thing working for them. In my opinion, they belong together.

I listened to the audio for both books now and the narration is fantastic! She really brings life to each character and makes them totally believable. I loved the bloopers at the end!!

If you enjoy mysteries, witty banter, friendships and the hint of a romance growing, then you need to read this series!

Twists and Turns

Twists and turns around every corner on such a small island and so many murders being tied together! AAAAHHHH!!!!! I couldn’t keep up because every time I thought I had it solved BAM…another twist thrown in and my theory goes out the window.
J.C….you are quite the writer of murder mystery! You have done it again with yet another book.
Then it totally threw me with Jerry’s big announcement at the end to Lane!
I hope Phil and Lane end up dating…there is an attraction there. The bowling alley fight that ended up being between Phil and Harry…that had me laughing…not going to lie.
Read the book if you want to know about the the murder though because it is amazing!!!!!

I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it! There were so many suspects with so many motives that I had to keep reading. I wanted to set up a board and attach the red string to figure this one out. There were a few parts of the mystery I figured out but I wasn’t sure who the murder was until the end. J.C. Fuller is such a great mystery writer and I’ll always buy a book written by her!

If you haven’t yet, you need to pick up the Rockfish Island mysteries series, starting with Black Bear Alibi! You won’t be disappointed l!

Another great cozy mystery in J.C. Fuller’s Rockfish Island Mystery series. Phil and Lane are back at it again! I loved being able to dive deeper into the town’s social dynamics and the character relationships that were built in Black Bear Alibi. I did NOT see any of the twists coming. Just when I think I know what this author will do, she surprises me again. This was a quick, fun read!

JC Fuller delivers another fabulous crime thriller filled with suspense.

A young girl looses her life in a seemingly unfortunate accident. However, with her death coinciding with the anniversary of her sister’s untimely departure a year ago, tenacious Sheriff Lane smells a rat.

Lane and Ranger Phillip are drawn together in the hunt for answers.

The story line flowed very well. You think you know who the killer is, then another twist. The Author kept you guessing throughout. What could have been confusing surrounding the Characters, Names, relationships, etc, the Author did a great job of background storylines.

The Push was definitely difficult to put down, Action Packed. I'm on the 3rd Book now. Excellent Read!

What can I say, but another amazing story. It pulled me in immediately and never let up. Rockfish Island and its residents are a great community, except for the murders of course. But Sherif Lane and Ranger Russell stay on the case until it is solved. Do I sense a slow burn between these two? Maybe? Can’t wait to get book 3!! Great Job J C Fuller!

I am absolutely loving this series. I has me hooked.
It's been some time since I read a mystery book and I loved this. I am able to follow the plot and clearly see where it's going. The best part is there is no big leaps of logic. It's very realistic.

My only complaint is I want more scenes between the sheriff and the ranger

Another 5 star read! LOVED the little flirtatious hints at Lane and Phil, I ship them so hard. The mystery was solid and though I figured out half of the mystery I was still guessing to the very end of who the culprit was. Looking forward to reading book 3.
