James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
This was one of those books where I didn't have to read the whole book to find out what happened at the end of the story it's a really good book it had too many chapters though in my opinion. I didn't read the whole book from start to finish I read up to chapter 30 and I stopped reading because it was at the point where I knew what was going to happen at the end anyway all in all this is a very good book and the story is great highly recommend this book but I do agree that the book is a bit too long and it drags on a bit but I am a fan of this series and I reckon this book is well worth a read and I had no problems with this book I really enjoyed it.
This haunted house story started so well. I'm a sucker for these and, up to the first third of the book, I actually thought this could be a four to five star read. Then something happened. Either the author ran out of time, patience, had a concussion, or something. I don't know, because it began to fall apart. I was really disappointed.
The story starts with the massacre of a family in a mansion about thirty years ago. Then we switch to the modern day. Our protagonist is Nicole, a hospice nurse whose marriage is rocky due to her husband's infidelity. I thought that the depiction of Nicole's work with her first hospice patient and the issues she is having with her husband Jake felt so real. I was impressed.
As I said, however, things fall apart around 30 percent or so. While the author was taking his time with the first third of the story, he suddenly started rushing. The pacing was totally off. Things started happening so quickly with no attention to detail, character or logic. Then suddenly the pace would slow down and we would have a moving moment between Jake and Nicole. But wait! There is a subplot thrown in that feels like it is somehow wrapping up the book, but, no, suddenly, we end up a with surprise! It's the real villain who was in front of our face all along and, thank goodness, takes the time to explain their whole motivation and plot to the protagonist.
That should not be allowed in today's day and age.
Not enough ghosts either.
I felt like I was reading two different writers. It's unfortunate. It had potential.
Not sure what happened to my review of this book. It was one of the first that I read when I discovered the series of ghosts stories. This one held my interest all the way to the end. These mystery ghost stories always have a twist at the end. I like it.
This book got off to a bit of a slow start and then shot off quickly. My major complaint was in the main characters' development. She literally did everything thing wrong that she was forbidden to do. There was no internal dilemma of deciding to do wrong. There was no gradual development up to those decisions. It was just zero to ridiculous, in the turn of a page. It was jarring and worrisome. You're going, "No! Why is she doing that?" Over and over again. She was just reckless and stupid out of nowhere. Other than that, really disconnecting me with the character and the book, it was fast moving and engrossing. It was a decently good book other than the main characters spastic approach to her job.
A Good Story Line, Makes you Look deep into Your own Problems
I was not sure in the first couple of Chapters if I wanted to continue…. But so glad I did……this is more than a ghostly story, it Leads you through Personal lives the ups and downs. and shows Some..Most can be worked through.. and KINDNESS. AND CARING. BRINGS YOU GOOD FEELINGS…ENJOY
This haunted house story was very interesting, I couldn’t put it down. The story starts off with a family getting murdered and then it moves to present day. One person made it out alive so it was a story about their life and why she doesn’t talk much.
There is a ghost in this story that appears but I wish there were more.
This story was very nice the ending was beautiful prove that good overcomes Evil most of the time tell y what you keep writing them and ill keep reading them sincerely Christine Dunne Harlingen Texas
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It flowed beautifully and has all the right elements of spooky, mystery and love all in one. I look forward to reading more from this author
I really enjoyed this haunted house mystery! It was a light read full of mystery, action, and just enough paranormal touches to make it unique. I enjoyed the characters and was content with the ending!
This story was amazing! It kept me reading faster in order to keep up! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is into the other side. I couldn't put this down!
Very entertaining and intriguing reading!! Kept my attention from beginning to the end..I honestly looked forward to reading this story every evening while relaxing.
This is a decent haunted house book. The story of a hospice nurse who is given the job of caring for an old woman who suffers from dementia. She will be staying at her home, a big mansion, which may be haunted by ghosts of the old lady's slain family. Add to that a little intrigue involving a hidden treasure and a few more murders along the way and you have a pretty good book. I only gave 3 stars because i'm getting tough in my reviewing. There were some glaring editing problems as well as a few things that just didn't make sense to me. But the main reason i skimped on the stars is that i don't think there is anything in this book that will make it memorable. I'll probably forget it as soon as i get involved in the next book i read.
I loved this story from the beginning. This story was sad because of the affair mentioned at the start to the story. This story is about a haunted house but also about a couple haunted by an affair. Nicole and Jake work very hard to repair their marriage. Nicole takes a new job at a house haunted by a ghost that can not forget the past, and the murder of her loved ones. I loved the scary feeling to the mansion. I felt bad for Ms. Calhoun. This story is very entertaining. I recommend that you read it.

I really enjoyed this ghost/ mystery story. Really well written plot and story line. Characters that have been fleshed out well. This is a great addition to a magnificent set of novels. Recommend reading.

I really enjoyed this. A caregiver goes to a mansion to care for the lady of the house and discovers a 30-year-old murder mystery. She is also trying to repair here damaged marriage at the same time. I like how the suspense is built up in the story. There are dangers from more than one source. Nicole must care for her patient, reconcile with her husband and survive. I recommend this to anyone who likes haunted house stories.
