Piper is now a vampire huntress, working with the vampire hunters in exchange for the safety of the Durands. Not very welcomed among the vampire hunters, Piper manages to stand up for herself among the disdainful hunters. But when things start to go downhill, it's up to her to save her family. Once again.

Trigger Warning~ blood, violence, torture, deaths, and explicit content.

In this book, Piper is a vampire hunter, returning home bloodied and bruised. I certainly do not like the vampire hunters, but the president seems very charming and sly. I wonder what he plans next.

As for Piper, her emotions are running high again - anger, frustration, dilemma, along with the occasional pleasure. She has matured so much from the first book due to the responsibility she has and what it implies.

Allister had a major character development in this book, and I'm hoping the others - Drake, Rayne, and Antoine - the ones with the least improvement in their personalities, get a good perspective as the story moves on. Not that I enjoy their quirks, but it is tiring to see them do the same things and make the same mistakes again and again.

Also, I love Wynn's maturity. I hadn't really noticed it, but I think it was showing right after he was back from Boris.

I'm loving Marcus and Darren a lot, and hope for more content with them included in the next books.

The twist at the ending was totally unexpected. And I did not expect poor Jack. If he had minded his own business... Well, I hope Piper does take down the council and get her freedom from the hunters.

I am fully invested in the story, in the series, and cannot wait to see what happens next. If you like a why choose, vampire romance with a sassy heroine and infuriatingly likable heroes, then do read the series. It is not a standalone, so you would have to start from the first book - Indebted to the Vampires.

I took a little break from this series. There are a lot of books in the series. They read fast but still. This is me coming back to it. It was good and I'm glad things are continuing developing with Markus. Its a good series that is well worth reading.

Piper’s creepy former boss shows up on the pretense of being worried about her when she quit so abruptly and sold her house in Seabrick. It’s obvious this man is lusting after Piper, even without Rayne’s insight. The guys see this as an opportunity to fuck with him and invite him for dinner and to stay the night. Antoine and Darren are especially annoyed at this.

Why is it necessary for Piper to help with the attack on Club Dead? Didn’t the vampire hunters manage to achieve their objectives in the past without her? She’s supposedly still in training with them, although she has assisted in at least one raid.

Piper learns about the vampire council for the first time and discovers why none of the Durands can assist in taking down Club Dead. She also finds what might be considered a betrayal by one of her men.

The creepy former boss won’t be bothering her any more. It appears Piper is going to work out a deal with Vincent, the head of the vampire hunters. If she succeeds the Durands will be safe from further harassment. HEA on the horizon.

Piper (FMC) seems to be pulled in all different directions in book 7. To keep her word to the Hunters and to the Durand's. Loyalties are tested on both sides. I liked how Piper is more confident and stronger in this series as it goes on. More so in this book i think. As usual there is plenty of steamy sexy times. Swoon.......Marcus was a dark horse. Sigh though Allister!!!! I dont know where to start with him?? A big plot twist that that seems to affect Piper and Durand's is threatening to put them up against the Hunters. This series shows no sign of losing momentum and im loving that its not. Its a cracking read

From clumsy maid to badass hunter, Piper has gone a long way living in the Durand household. Now, protecting them the way she can, she has joined forces with the vampire hunters, yet is treated not so nicely, constantly suspected and insulted. When called on a mission to Club Dead, everything seems to spiral out of control, and the threats to the Durand family start to surface. And if that wasn't enough trouble, Piper's ex-boss Jack had to make appearance, too...
The sixth book in the series shows nicely how much has Piper developed during the series, but also targets the issues that may come with RH - jealousy, feeling neglected, finding balance in the whole sharing thing... Their lives are one big whirlwind of danger, lust, tenderness, fight, and all kinds of drama, and put on the pages it makes a very fine reading experience. Moreover, with the ending promising even more drama by involving the mysterious vampire council, I expect the next book to be better than any of the previous installments.

Starting this book I was worried the deal with the hunters would result in only delaying the inevitable death sentence of the Durands with no other vampires left to hunt... also inviting Jack inside had me worried what if he was a vamp lol (but he's dead now so who cares). Bringing back the Qing Dynasty vase reference from book one was painful to read haha. Another deal with Vincent at the end gave me killer anxiety I can only read books so fast.

Fav quotes:
- "Maybe later," I shifted around until I faced him, the water spilling over both of us. I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his, sinking into the feel of his body against mine. It wasn't just lust I felt for Darren. It was safety. Comfort. Friendship.
- "Hey," Drake called out from the couch. "I have very few things left in this world I can enjoy. Leave me alone about the pies."
- Those memorizing spirals of blue and green eyes peered down at me, and the grin he gave me had my breath catching. "You've already taken me down, Piper. With your smile. Your laughter. With your smart mouth and soft body. You've destroyed all of us, and we'd happily do it again just to have a moment with you." (not going to cry not going to cry)

Funny moments:
- "Why is it that I am unable to use my usual tricks to get what I want?" I shrugged a shoulder and turned back to my food. "I don't know. Just lucky, I guess."
- My brow arched at his tone. Then my eyes widened, and I shook my head, waving my hands in front of me. "Oh, no. I can't take blood every time I get hurt. I like my dreams vampire-free thank you very much."
- Drake angled his head to one side and grinned. "She's just about finished. Seconds from being done."
"Yeah, she'll be coming any second now," Rayne added on, chuckling with Drake. Even Marcus made an amused sound. Jack grinned in return, looking between us. "Am I missing something?"
"So many things." I found myself smiling at the lawyer. This seemed to unsettle him, which only caused me to smile more.
- "I do what I'm told." Marcus snorted. Piper's head jerked in his direction, and she tossed a green bean at him. "Hey, I listen..." she shifted in her seat as all of us stared at her and then muttered, "when I want to." Jack chuckled. "That sounds like the Piper, I know." He leaned into her, his hand reaching out to touch her hand. Too familiar. This human shouldn’t know her at all. I blamed myself for it: myself and the vampire hunters. She laughed politely and shifted her hand out of his reach. Good girl.
- Giving myself a moment to recuperate, I exclaimed, "Finally! One of you doesn't rip my clothes off my body. You have no idea how expensive my clothes budget has become."

Plot notes:
- Telling Jack about the multiple boyfriends was hilarious to read cause he thought she was making shit up as an excuse lmao.
- She peered around the room. "I mean, Allister being framed, the businesses going under, and even Jack's convenient appearance? Someone is fucking with us. The only question is, who?" (cough, Morpheus)
- Okay, I wasn't entirely wrong but the council? seriously?

Smut moments:
- Antoine's fingers trailed down the bare skin at the neckline of my shirt, causing me to shiver. "I affect you so easily, and yet I cannot bring you to heel."
- With one hand on either side of me, blocking me in, Antoine leaned forward until his nose brushed along my jawline. "I can smell the sultry scent of your desire. The quick upbeat of your pulse. Your thighs pressing together, trying to quell the need my blood has inspired." His chest pressed against me as his mouth hovered over mine. "There is no shame to it." "I never said I was ashamed." I lifted my face, our lips brushing. "Good." Antoine closed those few millimeters. His mouth nipped and pulled on mine, tasting himself on my lips before delving into my mouth with his tongue.
- It was so intense, part of me was afraid to let him touch me while the other half screamed for relief.
- "Eyes open, Piper." Allister murmured, flicking my nipples. "You wanted us to make you forget, then you need to burn this picture into your mind."

This is book seven of the House of Durand series and sees Piper and her men, Darren a fellow house servant and her latest lover, and her vampire lovers, Antoine, Allister, Drake, Rayne and Wynn, along with her almost lover Marcus, able to move back into their home base. This is after Piper made a deal with the leader of the vampire hunters, Vincent, to keep all of her men safe, so long as she became a vampire hunter and helped to kill vampires, those who fed and killed humans. Except it seems that the vampire hunters themselves are quite so fussy and believe any vampire is a monster and should be killed on sight! Her new training regime is even harder than that under Billy in Seabrick, leaving her bruised, battered and weary. Her new mentor, Mizuki, is vicious in her training and wants to show her how much better the hunters are than her, but also doesn’t trust her. Neither do most of the other vampire hunters. Part of her new role is to go along on some vampire hunts with the other hunters. When her former and very human boss Jack, turns up at the Durand house, it brings trouble along with it!

The hunters notify her of another hunt, after it seems an out of control vampire has killed a series of women, one per night, each linked to one of Nina’s men. An enemy of the Durand’s, Morpheus, whom they now owe a favour to, in return for information of the location of the vampire hunters, seems to be seeking retribution for his assistance. Someone is framing one of her men for murder and there also seems to be an attack on the Durand businesses as well. Piper will have to put herself in danger to save her new family and all they represent, as someone very powerful seems to be out to get them. Possibly, they have found out of her role with the vampire hunters, which would not go down well with the vampire factions. Someone comes to a grisly end in the house and that is just the beginning of their problems. Still more to come in the series as the Durand family comes under personal attack! Piper has become an integral part of the Durand men’s lives and none of them, even Darren, can really do without her now. Her complicated role as a vampire hunter, living within a household of powerful vampires, with all her new skills and power, is being put to the test by both sides it seems. I look forward to seeing what might happen next. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

House of Darren

I liked this story a lot but it definitely wasn’t my favorite of the series. It was still very good though all things considered. I love how bad ass Piper has gotten and I love how much the men have grown to care for her. Darren is still my favorite but I do love most of the guys—MOST being the keyword. I’m not sure I really like Allister all that much. I liked him before this book, but yeah he really pissed me off in this one and I’m still currently debating whether to forgive him or not. I understand why he did what he did to a certain extent well... honestly sorry not really, his motive for doing what he did was kind of weak to me. I get he has some kind of inferiority complex, but I’m just not a fan of how he lashed out like a child when someone called him out on his bullshit. Piper is risking a lot to protect the Durands and then Allister is out doing what he did. It wasn’t cheating but it got pretty close and it still pisses me off. I’m glad things get talked out and reconciled, but I wouldn’t have been so forgiving if I was in Pipers place. I feel like he will have to do a lot to be remotely okay in my book. So far he’s my least favorite guy. Idk, I just kind of wished the story focused a little more on Marcus as opposed to drama being made for the sake of drama. I’m happy with the parts of the story that did focus on him. Anyways, I am still excited for the next book. I really am in this for the long run because I like this series way too much to stop.

3.5 stars - Still good but not as good as the others

POV: multiple
HUMOR: yes
F BOMBS: yes
CLIFFHANGER: yes
NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: no
TRIGGERS: bloody, violence, PTSD

This is book 7 of 8 in this ongoing series about Piper, who used to be a clumsy human maid for the Durand brothers (vampires). This picks up where the last book left off with Piper joining the opposition (vampire hunters) to free her vampire masters/lovers. As far as love interests go, this one focused more on Allister and Marcus. It's nice to see that these guys finally got more attention.

There were reminders about the series including a nod back to her clumsiness in book 1, mentioning previous characters, and a review of each Durand vampire's abilities.

The problems they faced included a character from Piper's past showing up, Allister's poor choices, Piper dealing with some hard knocks in her new job, and a mystery person coming after them.

For those that love the humor and sexy times, this book didn't have much of either of them. There was still some humor, but not a lot. And there were perhaps two graphic moments but they didn't go all the way. I didn't mind that, but I did expect more close times between Piper and the vamps now that they were finally reunited - after a year of being apart. But alas, it wasn't so. Although the writing talent is still there, this book left me feeling a little meh.

Piper is keeping her promise and is working with the Hunters, though reluctantly. When she finds out the next raid is on Morpheus’s Club Dead, she talks to Antoine and Morpheus is warmed. When Piper goes in to get a count and lure out some of the vampires, she finds Allister sitting there. And so the real beginning of the Durand’s Problems begin to come into focus and the fun begins.

Piper has grown from a naive little girl to a woman who can protect herself. I enjoy a series where the protagonist has true growth. The writer also handles her polyamorous relationships well, balancing the possibility of jealousy against the obvious family love. The world is getting darker and more dangerous, especially when who is trying to bring the Durand’s down.

Definitely ends with a cliff hanger, so be prepared for that.

Can I give this more than 5 stars? It takes a strong author to make a series this long continue to get better. I finished this book in 1 day and can't wait for the next book.

Piper continues to grow into this amazing woman. But, we see a different side of her that she normally keeps to herself. She keeps her weaknesses and vulnerability to herself as a way of protecting others, but she opens up a little bit after an event in the book.

The guys... I grew to love them more. Especially Marcus. Their relationships continue to grow closer, and continue to get tested. There were a couple of breaking points in this story that really helped open their eyes to the extent of their relationships and reminded them that they are needed to work together to make it work.

We saw some action, adventure, killing and more in this story. I can't wait to see what happens next!

"Huntress" is book 7 of the House of Durand Series and what an amazing book it is!

In this book, it focus on Piper, helping the Hunters in order to protect the Durand brothers. Piper's new life is full of bloodshed and violence, the Durand family is once again in danger by an old enemy who's out for blood.

The chemistry between Piper, Darren and the hot and sexy vampire in her life are still hot as ever. The plot thickens with an old enemy, betrayal and of course hot and steamy chemistry. I love reading how independant Piper has become, full of fire, determination and sass! The book kept me enthralled from the get go! And I can't wait to read the next book!

Piper is training with the vampire hunters. They are not making it easy on her. Piper knows she has to stay with the hunters or they will come after them again. Piper is having a hard time coming to terms with how her life is now. Piper comes home to a surprise visitor. The others are not happy that this person is staying at their home. Piper is assigned to go to Club Dead, they are hunting the vampires there. Piper doesn't expect to find a familiar face there and she makes sure he is safe. It seems that there is a threat to the Durands, they will have to figure out who it is and fix the problem.

House of Durand was the first series I ever read from Erin Bedford and I instantly fell in love with the series. I love that she kept adding onto the series even though it was over (and is still not over WOOT!). In this book we get a look at her life being juggled between the promise to the hunters and the loyalty to the Durands. One of the things about the series was always how quiet Marcus is. In the previous book dealing with the hunters, you got to know a bit more about the mysterious Marcus but this one, he actually talks more. It is nice to see the changes in Marcus. Although he is still the tough vamp that we all know and love too.

Piper is the one of three humans living in the house, she was previously the maid and is now a vampire hunter. She made a deal to protect her family/men that involves training with Mizuki and hunting vampires. An old enemy comes back seeking revenge, can Piper protect those she cares about?

Silly me requested this and didn't realise it was book 7 in the house of Durand series. So it took me a few chapters to figure out the dynamics and what has been happening, it makes me want to read the previous books which are now on my TBR.

Piper is back with her guys and the vampire hunters are no longer hunting them but for that she needs to work for the hunters . The vampire hunters are not making it easy for her, and her mentor shows it at her training that they don't trust her. It won't be easy as an old enemy is coming back and she once again will do anything to protect the Durand.

I have received an arc of this book from the author and booksprout. I have really love Huntress of the Vampires and can't wait for the next book in the serie.

You'll definitely want to read the books in this series in order. In this installment, Piper is living almost dual lives... she is back living with the Durands and Darren, and her complicated love life. She is also living as a vampire hunter, where she is becoming more and more disillusioned with their hunting tactics, not to mention the physical toll it's taking on her. What none of them expected was a threat from another source...Will she and her "family" survive this new threat? We'll have to wait for the next installment to find out. This series is definitely for the 18+ crowd.

This is such a good series and i cant think of anything bad to say about it other tan it wasnt long enough! probably one of the best series by Erin to date.
Piper is so amazing as a M/C - This book follows Piper and her work with the Hunters which she took on to protect the Durrand brothers. So Hunting bad vampires to protect good vampires. However threats come from unexpected places meaning the Durrand's need to rally round again in order to survive.
Fast paced, full of heat and very enjoyable,

As always....Fantastic!

Damn I can't wait to get more, this series is freaking addicting! I absolutely love these characters and Erin Bedford definitely knows how to keep me coming back for more sexy Durand and Piper hilarity. They are vampires and get they have such real relationship trials and tribulations to wade through all while dealing with all the politics, and craziness that the supernatural world has to offer. Sooooo good and completely entertaining, I highly recommend this series!

Piper has really put herself in another dangerous situation. She just keeps throwing herself into trouble, this time it was at least with good/better intentions. This was very much about Piper and the hunters, yes the guys are involved and yes Allister is a dum dum with a low emotional IQ, but it definitely revolves around the hunter storyline. I personally don’t think Allister shouldn’t been let off the hook so easily.

The fact that I didn't pay enough attention to know this was book 7 in a series is on me, for sure! Needless to say I was a bit lost, though the story was well written enough to enjoy on it's own.

It was still a good read though all things considered. I love how strong a character Piper is, to be honest I have no patience for a weak main character, so this was definitely a plus. I also liked the relationships with her men and how they seemed to be progressing, though without the background, I am just supposing.

Good read & well written!

This series is an overall 3 🌟 series. But I'm so disappointed with this series cause there was so much that could have been done with this story and the relationship between everyone could have been shown little more depth there was no buildup of any kind in this. I thought this my improve with the story but did not

I absolutely love the way piper's character has been written and her personality.

A lot of the times it felt that the authors chain of thought got lot as she was writing these books.

Just sad that there was so much that we could have gotten from this story but couldn't

Piper is back with her men, but has to work with the Hunters to keep them all safe. Now someone is trying to set up the Durand Family to bring them down and they must all pull together to protect each other. I wish there could have been more one on one time with Piper and the men but there was a lot of action in this book. I really enjoyed reading more about the Durands and look forward to the next installment. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

This is a series where you can't skip a book they must be read in the order they were written as Piper's story just keeps going. So many twists and turns, she's now agreed to work for the hunters so that she can get back to her men without them all being hunted. But her mentor shows her that the vampire hunters don't trust her yet, will she win their trust? Can she when an old enemy is back and she'll do anything to protect the Durand?

Here I thought

Here I thought this would be the last book of this series, but I was obviously wrong.

I love Piper and her vamps and Darren is my secret fave next to Marcus. Piper has changed so much tho, its a different Piper then from the start which makes sense after everything. So its a logical change which makes this series amazing!

All the books in this series are not possible to lay down. Sleep be damned !
