His Someone Special

Rate this book
Sometimes all a boy needs is his Daddy.

Davis’s life has been one struggle after another, leaving him nervous and unsure. On the brink of complete poverty, he’s desperate enough to accept a job at a biker bar, even though it terrifies him. It’s not like he has a choice when the hot, older owner is the only one willing to give him a chance.

Sarge has a full life. He’s made his dream of owning a successful bar come true. He has good friends and valuable employees. If he gets a little lonely, it’s easier to just scratch the itch than to put his heart back on the line. At least it was until Davis, constantly looking to him for reassurance, melts through his defenses with his big blue eyes.

When Davis reveals his curiosity about Daddies, will Sarge give into the desire to claim Davis as his boy?

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.

Before I rave about how much I enjoyed this book, I feel like I need to discuss this cover. I think it's a bad representation of this story as it makes you think you're getting a cheesy read. I wish it wasn't so fucking creepy as this story wasn't that...

His Someone Special is a Daddy Kink romance between two men which is something new for me, but I'll be reading more of.

Davis is a young man completely adrift in the world, and one paycheck away from being homeless. Shy by nature, desperation sees him applying for a job at a dive bar.

Sarge is the owner of Full Throttle, a dive bar that caters to bikers and essentially all walks of life. One look at Davis in his ill fitting clothing and aura of hopelessness, sees him offering him a job against his reservations.

"He’d stopped the tears from falling, but that wasn’t the relief it should’ve been. Instead, it drove home how much I wanted to know Davis's story; how much I wanted to be a safe place for him to confide."

With a side cast of awesome bar staff and patrons, you watch them all gravitating towards the goodness that is Davis, and see him bloom under the kindness of others. And not to mention the watchful eye of Sarge who doesn't really want to analyse his motives.

"This boy lived to tug at my heartstrings."

As Davis gains confidence, Sarge will either need to stand up and claim him for himself or watch the opportunity be taken. It is clear that Davis needs a Daddy but can Sarge leave his past behind?

When I grabbed this on a whim from KU, (the book slump is real) I was just hoping for a decent read. However I loved it. This book was sweet, emotional and appropriately sexy. Sarge and Davis's story needed time to evolve and these authors didn't rush it. Two thumbs up ladies 🖤

The first half gets 4 stars. Davis was such a lost boy, and my heart went out to him. The UST between Davis and Sarge was smokin'!

But once the men got together, the story sank into sappy, cheesy territory. The words "boy" and "Daddy" were terribly overused, and some of the scenes (like the fight at the bar) felt like filler.

I quite liked the secondary characters, especially Billy and Law, and would read their stories if the authors make this a series.

I read the whole thing. It wasn't great, and it didn't get better, even though I kept hoping til the end.

I'm kind of done with these badly written, overly sappy books where the story just doesn't seem to have a nice flow.

This was fairy-floss on a stick. Sugary sweet and enjoyable at first, until you realise there’s only one flavour and you’ve still got a fuckton left to eat.

Honestly, if you want a low-angst, feel-good read this could be for you. Personally, I liked the characters but I just got bored by the end and skimmed the last 20%. It wasn’t all bad, this isn’t something I’ll read again.

A boy who needs help finds the perfect Daddy to guide him !
A terrific Daddy/boy story with a marvelous ending.
* Sweet young Davis, 25, has had a hard time with his life so far. Too much loss and hardship for such a hardworking, devoted guy.
* Sarge is 46, a big silver bear who owns an LGBT friendly biker bar, Full Throttle. He’s happy with his friends and business.
Davis lost his job, lived in a dangerous apartment area and shows up at the bar for a job. Sarge sees something in Davis that draws him. Davis is desperate, and Sarge gives him a chance. He watches how hard the kid works, plus friends and customers like him, too. Slowly and subtly Sarge has him eating better, healthier, and growing more confident.

Little by little they get romantic and Sarge takes Davis out of a dangerous circumstance.
Davis may be a virgin, but he knows what he wants and isn’t afraid, so he relishes Sarge’s attention, and their sexy times are super sizzling.

Long talks and inner thoughts get the men into a mutual pact that gives each man what he needs.
We get great definitions of the relationship, a bar fight, a test, understanding, and a glimpse of how our men relate and navigate the Daddy/boy dynamic.

We also appreciate the fun epilogue.
ENJOY !

This was so sweet! And maybe for some it might be too sweet - but it was just what I needed to read and I really enjoyed it. I think this is my first book from either of these authors, not really familiar with their of their individual writing styles, but I do hope they write again together.

Davis is a sweet young man who has had a really tough life. He finally gets a break when he gets a job at a biker bar, and is taken under the wing of pretty much every employee and regular patron there. Of course, the owner of the bar - Sarge, takes notice of Davis and despite their difference in age, experience, etc. the two are drawn together.

I really enjoyed Sarge and Davis and their progression from boss/employee to friends to partners. I like that it took the majority of the book for them to get there, and it was sweet, Sarge was protective and wonderful, and just perfect for Davis. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the story, and could see some of them needing their own story! Hope for more from this writing duo as it seemed to flow well and was an enjoyable read!

Okay normally I do not rate book that I dnf but I was over the half into it and had enjoyed this book. I liked both MCs, Sarge and Davis a lot, their dynamic was good and I loved that it was slow burn, until 70% were I had to say okay bye💀.
The question is why? Well so after they decided to be for real in a daddy/boy dynamic and talked about rules, where Sarge made the rule that „they won’t have sex until he decided they are ready“ (since he already rushed things by taking Davis into his home since Davis wasn’t safe anymore). And then like 10min later after Davis woke up from a nightmare and told him his sad life story and stuff and begged Sarge to have sex with him, he just did it🧍🏻‍♀️. I mean bro Davis isn’t emotion full there and decided this because he needed comfort and Sarge said he will only do it when he is sure the time is right. So the times here was right💀???

Maybe it’s just me but this just really upset me and took all the enjoyment away that I felt for this book it was an absolutely turn off. I just don’t understand why it had to be that why I really do not this was totally unnecessary.

His Someone Special by authors Sammi Cee and Brittany Cournoyer is the first time I have read this duo. I loved this story. I liked the character connection and the pace of this story. This story is written in dual POV I love that POV so it worked for me.
Davis is a young man he is down on his luck and looking for a job. He goes to a biker bar, and he is applying for a dishwasher job. He has been turned down before at other places, so he doesn’t have high hopes. But he cleans himself up the best he can and tries.
What I loved about Davis is no matter what life throws at him, he gets back up and is positive. He is a strong character but really needs someone in his corner looking out for him.
Sarge is the owner of the biker bar that Davis applies too. He is older and more experienced. He is also a Daddy. His protective nature comes into play with Davis. He cannot stop himself from nurturing and protecting those he cares about.
I loved his heart, there is no character with a bigger heart than Sarge.
Overall a great story. I think there is potential for there to be a great start to a series as well. I hope some side characters we met will one day get their own stories. I know I would love to read about how they fall in love and what happens next.

i liked the first half very much, but the second one was a bit plain.
another book with great potential, but sadly it didn’t come out as good as it could have been.
the daddy was too indecisive at the beginning and like taylor swift says “go for it or don’t, but don’t wait”.
i don’t like waiting and this was almost slow burn so ugh!!!

This was a pretty sweet and quick daddy/boy romance. I used to not be into the daddy kink but as I have found authors that write it well I enjoy it more. I really like how Davis and Sarge were such great communicators. I think sometimes authors overlook the need for a lot of communication with relationships like this. Thankfully these authors created a story and romance where you could feel how much the two cared for one another. Great read that I recommend if you are in the mood for an angst free daddy story.

Oh this was really good!! I adored David and Sarge was just the perfect daddy for him. This was such a well written, sweet and sexy story. It was the first book for me by either author and I will definitely be reading more from them both. I hope there is more to come in the series, I really want Billy's story, with Law maybe??? That would be so good!

From the blurb and fab cover, this one sounded much hotter than it actually was.
Not necessarily a bad thing, I enjoyed it.
It was very sweet, sensitive and loving - sometimes that's all we need.

Sometimes I need a sugary sweet daddy/boy story. Not all daddy/boy story’s have to be rough. I enjoyed that this one wasn’t. Two men lost finding love and a home with each other. The writing was good the smexy the two that we got were nice, and I would love a book about all of the side characters.

An okay daddy/boy romance. Davis is down to his last penny and applies for the job of dishwasher at a biker bar. He's terrified (typical meek/scared twink) but Sarge gives him the job. Before long they are so busy that Davis is pulled out of the kitchen to help and soon starts to fit in with the regulars. Of course bar-owner Sarge is eyeing him up the end of his long-term relationship has him gun-shy. After he experiences a shooting at Davis's dumpy apartment, he drags him home with him and they are soon in a relationship.

This book had LOTS of characters. Billy the flighty flirty friend/waiter, Sarge's friend, the group of regulars, the cook, the former friend of Davis who comes back into his life, so there was a lot of characters for such a short book and you spend a lot of time getting to interact with them as well. So it was okay, not much angst, any misunderstandings are usually cleared up pretty quickly and it's pretty mild on the kinky side of things, so it was okay, a good way to kill some quarantine time.

You know, Daddy tropes are not my favorite. Not that I don’t love a silver fox, but for the most part there are other tropes I like better. But of course, I love these two authors and couldn’t resist reading their take on a daddy/boy relationship and I’m glad I did. Davis quickly became so endearing to me and I absolutely cried and delighted over him so much.
Davis has had a rough life lately. It’s been one thing after another and the sweet young man is at the end of his rope. He goes to the bar he applied at for an interview, scared to death, because his clothes aren’t good enough and he’s so hungry. And he’s scared he won’t be able to cut what it takes to work here. As soon as he sees Sarge, he almost swallows his tongue, and a conversation of friend of his brought up, came to the forefront in his mind. But he had to be careful, because he didn’t want to think that of his maybe new boss. Sarge takes one look at Davis and doesn’t think he can take the rough and tumble of the bar, but something in Davis is pulling at everything in him to care for this young man and show him it’s going to be ok. So he hires him. And starts to eventually notice a change. It takes a bit and some stern talking to but Davis is blossoming. Until Sarge brings him home to live with him to get him out of his dangerous apartment building. Davis was thinking something else and now things seem too complicated and Sarge can’t figure out what went wrong. Now he’s got to fix what he’s messed up, before he loses the chance at the boy of his dreams.
I don’t even know where to begin with Davis. I love Sarge and Law and all of them. (Which reminds me…..Law & Billy….another book???????? *hint hint*) But there’s something about Davis. His sweet, innocent nature, his timid, shy personality, and the fire behind the sad, soft eyes. He’s just one of those sweet young men you want to wrap up and hug the stuffing out of for the rest of your life and protect him against everyone else. And I love that Sarge sees him. Sees him from the beginning. He knew something was up with Davis. Knew there was a story there. But he also knew not to pressure Davis for fear he would bolt. But what I loved even more, is that Billy, another employee, took Davis under his wing and wouldn’t take no for an answer on anything. He would make things seem like something off hand to save Davis’s dignity and pride, but helped him become the blossoming young man who was starting to brim with confidence. And Sarge helped too. Just by being the rock he is. Heck, the whole crew had Davis’s back, in more ways than one. There’s just something so special about him, that everyone took him under his wing. Even cranky quiet Law. And that was shocking in itself.
So yeah, this book is a special one. Not because it’s just a daddy/boy thing. Because it’s a Davis thing. Because everyone took the time to see under the shy, timid young man to see one that wanted a chance at life. And they all wanted to help him find his dream. In any way they could. And considering the curmudgeonly group….that was saying a lot.

These authors hit it out of the park with this book. I was hooked from the beginning and read it one sitting. This is what a Daddy book is all about.
I fell in love with Davis right away, and how can you not? He’s such a sweet boy. He’s a twenty-five-year-old man, but because of his shyness and awkwardness, he appears younger. But in this story, it’s not frustrating but spot on, considering what he had to endure during his forming years. But the great thing is the growth in him. Gradually he transforms from shy and awkward to self-confident and even a bit bratty, without losing his sweetness. And it’s all because of Sarge, who is the first one to see Davis.
Sarge is not the bad biker but a big teddy bear with a heart of gold. And he falls for Davis just as hard.
There is quite an age gap between the two men, but it doesn’t matter in the least. Their relationship develops organically and naturally. They have a few kinky moments together, but it was very low key, and I didn’t miss the hot and heavy scenes in the slightest. The chemistry was tangible without explicit sex scenes.
The MCs are supported by a stellar secondary cast with Billy and Lawson as my favorites, but they all have their own place in the story. The bar with the staff members and regular customers felt more than a place of business. The support, the meddling, the bets, the banter all contributed to the overall feeling of being surrounded by family.
I highly recommend this book, and I’m looking forward to future books from these two authors.

"This boy lives to tug on my heartstrings." Davis definitely does that, right from the start for the reader and Sarge. He may be a young man that's down on his luck and barely getting by but he's clearly a survivor. Also comes across as quite innocent and with a serious lack of support (no friends or family). He would never have applied to work at the biker bar otherwise but then he never would have met Sarge.... Sarge finds himself drawn to Davis immediately but due to his last relationship, is very wary of developing anything other than a work relationship. He soon has the push from friends and the discovery of Davis' living situation so get his butt in gear and make an offer to Davis that cannot be refused when their attraction is so clear and they fit together so well as a possible couple.
I loved the easy way that they interact with each other from when Davis first interviews for the job and Sarge immediately looks after him by giving food. It doesn't take long for his daddy side to reemerge. Both men are adorable and easily lovable, I completely understand how each one is attracted to the other. It's a very low angst story but that doesn't detract any enjoyment from the story overall as there are a great group of characters in the bar and they bring in a family feel, are really supportive of each other. You can tell that several of the guys have been friends for a few years as they are not scared to say things that are needed in the moment. I love these authors working together and am hoping that they do more with the rest of the guys from the bar as there are a lot of possibilities there to explore.
Definitely a recommended daddy read for me! Loved the relationship that develops and the characters involved.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I absolutely adored Davis. He broke my heart in the beginning. His circumstances weren’t his fault and for him to apply for a job at a biker bar showed his desperation. Thankfully, the biker bar wasn’t what he expected. Sure, it had the big, bad ass customers, but the bar is LGBTQ friendly, something he didn’t expect.

I loved Sarge too. Everybody could see how bad he wanted to step in and take all of Davis’ problems away but he was scared of getting hurt again. When they finally did get together it was so sweet.

Overall, a great book. It’s Daddy kink but relatively mild. Sarge and Davis, once they finally got their act together, were perfect for each other. A very entertaining read.

Davis desperately needs a job. When he has an interview as a dishwasher at a biker bar, Sarge sees something in Davis that calls to his nurturing side.

As Davis gains confidence, Sarge tries to deny his ‘Daddy’ ways. Eventually Sarge & Davis begin a Daddy/boy relationship and Davis blossoms!

Well written, sweet and sexy.

Duck, duck, go read this book

“Because he’s mine.” I do love a sexy, growly, possessive man and Sarge fits all that to a tee. He is such a wonderful nurturer. I really wish I could visit his bar just to hear him speak and to get a hug from him. “You saw me when no one else did.” Davis may think he’s invisible but he is a shining star. His softness, his inner strength, his quiet brattiness and most of all his heart carved its way into my own and I dare anyone to not fall in love. The authors, the story, the love, the people (who I hope we see again), and the light they bring is exactly what we need. Everything about this book is fantastic and amazing.

Sarge & Davis are so sweet. The authors got the balance of the Daddy/boy dynamic just right for me. Sarge is the perfect nurturer/protector without being completely controlling & Davis is an adorably appreciative partner without being a living doll with no mind of his own. I raced through His Someone Special in one hit...a great read.
