This Christmas, something magical is happening in Sapphire Bay.
Emma loves everything about living in Sapphire Bay. The scenery in the small Montana town is spectacular, her communications business is thriving, and her six-year-old twins are happy. When a Christmas Facebook post goes viral, Emma and her friends are swamped with people asking Santa for help. But it's her twins' Christmas wish that breaks her heart.
Jack Devlin finds missing people. When his brother asks him to locate Emma's ex-husband, he thinks it's going to be an easy case. But the more time he spends with Emma, the more complicated their relationship becomes. With more than one heart on the line, will they go back to their old lives or risk everything for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love?
CHRISTMAS ON MAIN STREET is the first novel in the Santa's Secret Helpers series and can easily be read as a standalone. Each of Leeanna's series are linked so you can find out what happens to your favorite characters in other books. Happy reading!
Leeanna Morgan is a USA Today bestselling author. She lives in New Zealand surrounded by green hills on one side and the ocean on the other. She enjoys going for long walks, especially if she can convince her husband and two children to go with her!
Leeanna writes contemporary romances set in Montana. Her books contain all of the things that are important to her; good friends, family, a strong sense of community, and a happy ending.
While book is well-written, I found it to be unrealistic. The characters are all so perfect with the exception of one (you can easily figure that out on your own). The main focus was on fundraising with many, many details and less on romance. Another aspect that caused some confusion was how a lot of the secondary characters were introduced. It was obvious that these characters had made appearances in previous books/series by this author. These characters were written as if I should already know who they were. So, I found myself re-reading sentences to see if I missed something but I hadn't. In addition, because there is very little in the way of character development for Emma and Jack, I was often bored.
You probably think I hated this book if you judge me on my review but I didn't. After I realized what to expect, which wasn't a lot, unfortunately, I was able to finish the book somewhat satisfied. My favorite part of the book was the Christmas aspect. It was done well, while over-the-top and I enjoyed that. I would also like to add that I came across this book in a free promotion so that was a good thing.
This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
CHRISTMAS ON MAIN STREET by Leeanna Morgan is a classic Christmas story with plenty of small town Christmas events. It's a sweet holiday romance to get you into the Christmas spirit.
Jack Devlin is visiting family in Sapphire Bay, Montana, and meets up with Emma Lewis. He falls hard and fast for Emma and her six-year-old twins, Dylan and Molly. The longer Jack stays in Sapphire Bay, the less he wants to return to his life in New York City.
Emma is falling for Jack, but she's wary after her husband abandoned her with two babies to fend for herself. She swore she would always stand on her own, but when Jack comes into the picture, her determination melts away.
This is a fun, sweet romance, full of Christmas spirit, but I did feel there wasn't a lot of conflict. Halfway through the book, we know Jack and Emma love each other. Her ex-husband comes back on the scene after being gone five years, but they appear to be getting along. While that changes later in the book, it felt like a stronger conflict would have greatly improved the story. Even so, it's a fun read.
Almost too many side characters and too much time spent on everything that was happening in the town. It felt like very little time was actually spent with Emma and Jack together. Kind of diluted the romance down to a minor side plot.
This was ok. Overall not believable at all though. I didn't fall for the romance and there was zero burn/ physical attraction. Also the drama was super understated and just weird. Plus Christmas in September is way extreme just saying.
The Christmas in September thing just didn't work for me
This was a nice enough story. I like the community of sapphire bay and how characters from previous and future books are interwoven.
The main thing I struggled with in this book was the Christmas theme for a book set between June and September. I like to spend December reading Christmas themed books (the more surgery the better!) but this books summer/autumn setting just didn't say Christmas to me.
I downloaded this ebook as part of Barnes and Noble's #monthofthanks promotion. It was entertaining , and it was a nice way of introducing us to a small-town full of nice people.
I loved returning to Sapphire Bay so much! Christmas on Main Street reminded so much of Robyn Carr’s Virgin River. I absolutely adore Leeanna’s books and look forward to enjoying so many more!
This is a really quick story. It’s also kind of noneventful. Everything flows extremely smoothly and what little drama there is, isn’t really drama at all. There is a lot of fundraising going on and working well together. I will say the tiny village intrigued me. In fact, it intrigued me more than the characters or the story. It wasn’t bad, I didn’t have trouble finishing it, but if it had been any longer I may have given up on it.
Everything in this story was so touching and about the love in each other's hearts. The Christmas magic just brought this book to life. Love the story.
Clean romance and Christmas come early all in one. As sweet as a Hallmark Christmas movie too. The little twins in this are adorable but I have to say that I have been babysitting twins for nearly three years now and it is exhausting no matter how cute the kids are. I have no idea how anyone could do all the volunteer work that their mother does and still be a single parent and survive life. Obviously she has a lot more energy than I do. And I only have those twins half days!
This town sounds like a wonderful place to live. There are a lot of good folks who want to help each other out. It is all idyllic.
This book appears to be the next chapter in a longer work, not a free-standing book in a series: characters appear with no introduction, as though the reader already knows them. I cannot be bothered to figure it out.
Slow moving, with almost no action at all. Very light reading, no in-depth character analysis, no wrenching dramatic situation. Straight forward narrative where everyone is kind and full of understanding, everything you do expect out of a Christmas novel
Divorced mother of twins Molly and Dylan, Emma was not looking for love. She was looking for ideas for the Christmas festival. The town put it up on facebook to get ideas of what the community would like to have to celebrate the season. They recieved lots of ideas and more than a few wishes to be granted.
Jack is in town to spend a week's vacation with his family. He is a professional finder. He finds people no matter how insignicant the reason or how big. He meets Emma and zing! He starts making plans to rearrange his life. They have something special right away. He decides to stay an extra two weeks to see where this might lead. Could be a passing fancy, could be love.
While he is spending time with Emma and her twins, the subject of their missing father comes up. Well him being a hufflepuff...I mean finder.. he takes it upon himself to find Mark. Does that seems like a good idea? Well Jack has an honorable streak.
When Jack finds Mark, they all need to figure out if and how all of this will work. Will Mark want to be a father? Will Mark want Emma back? Will Emma want Mark back? Will the twins get hurt or confused by a sudden reappearing father?
Nothing overly dramatic or angry really happens. It is a warm low key romance set in a small town. If you love Hallmark movies, you will love this book!
Christmas is coming early to Sapphire Bay, Montana - festive events are being planned from September onward to raise funds for subsidised rental accommodation in pre-built tiny homes. Emma Lewis is a busy woman, divorced with twin six-year-olds, Dylan and Molly. Her ex went off the grid five years ago and has not been heard of since. She runs a website design and social media business, and helps out with the fundraising. She is certainly not looking for a man. Jack Devlin, 38, is back in town for his brother's 40thy birthday. He owns a private investigation company, Lost and Found, which specialises in reuniting family and friends who have lost touch. He's definitely not looking for a woman and he'll be in the wind in ten days. I'm glad the author got that out of the way early - there will be no-one more surprised than me if, perish the thought, they end up hitched :) He could, however, help the twins re-connect with their dad, just a thought! "Christmas on Main Street" is incredibly sweet and extends the spirit of Christmas to cover the entire year. The one element that is missing is any tension or drama, it just flows happily along. 3 Stars.
The characters had no depth and every conflict was treated as if it were low stakes, even the stakes should have been high. For the most part, though, it was a low-stakes story. None of the characters changed or evolved as the story progressed. The dialogue was as flat as the characters and consisted entirely of informational dialogue or small talk. The six-year-old characters spoke as if they were much older, teenaged or older. A character smiled in reaction to something at least once per page, and all of the characters drank so much coffee, even at the oddest hours. Also, the author either didn't do/receive thorough edits or didn't do her research as there were inaccuracies in terminology and continuity. For example, Also, one character would be described as speaking when it was clear another character was supposed to be speaking.
Christmas on Main Street by Leeanna Morgan - I really enjoyed this book. I love the small town romance stories, where everyone knows everyone and it's a really tight-knit welcoming community. Emma is a single Mum of twins, who gives her all to her community. She meets Jack the big city guy who comes home to visit his family living in the same little town. Jack runs a company to find missing people, when he learns Emma wants to find her ex-husband for her children for Christmas he takes on the job and finds her ex still holds a candle for her. Jack feels strongly about Emma and will do anything to protect her, and the twins. Beautiful love story in a small town setting, you feel part of the community just reading the book!
Emma, a mother of twins Dylan and Molly, loves living in Sapphire Bay, Montana. The scenery - spectacular. Her communications business - thriving. A Christmas Facebook post goes viral. Emma and her friends are swamped with people asking Santa for help. But it's her twins' Christmas wish that breaks her heart. Jack Devlin finds missing people. His brother asks him to locate Emma's ex-husband. It's not so easy.
The story - smooth. The characters - interesting. The plot - flows. This story is perfect for putting the reader into the "Christmas" season. Add children and a nice story emerges. I loved it.
Although I really couldn't wrap !I head around there being Christmas events starting in September, there sure were some great holiday ideas. In this small town romance there were a lot of talented people running their own businesses, but they pitched in to make the fundraisers a success. Emma and her friends did a great job. Emma finds Jack and her life couldn't be sweeter. He is good to her and her twins. But in comes the Erin's father, who has been absent from their lives for years. Will this put a wrinkle in this relationship? Wonderful, heart- warming story. I enjoyed it.
Emma is a single mother whose first husband left after their twins were born. Since she could not afford to live in Manhattan she moved to a Montana small town. She has made a productive new life with her business of designing web sites. She has also become a welcome part of the community. Jack’s brother and his Cassie are part of the community and Jack comes to town for their wedding. He meets Emma at the wedding becoming interested in her. Events between them proceed along with the return of Emma’s ex-husband and the Christmas events that Emma is helping to plan. Where do things turn?
Lovely, heartwarming and cute Christmas themed free read. I pick up this author every now and then as her books are enjoyable. I will be reading the Sapphire Bay series next. Loved the twins Molly and Dylan. Jack and his family were great and grandad with Kathleen was a lovely surprise. All the secondary characters were lovely, though I didn’t change my mind about family deserter Mark but he has a chance at a future relationship with his children. But I found Emma just too soft, overly forgiving, especially in relation to her ex husband. She obviously has a huge and giving heart but I never felt she stood up for herself, it is not just what her children want.
I was def rooting for Emma and Jack. I loved seeing Jack interact with Emma's kids - Molly and Dylan. I thought that their interactions were so cute and the twins added so much fun. I was surprised by the way that the plot ended up going but everything did end up working out. I also loved the small town element and the different personalities.
I do think that a big plot point was introduced and then seemingly disappeared. It was almost resolved too smoothly. Overall it was an easy, mindless read that was enjoyable. I would look forward to reading more stories in this small town in the future.
This book was ok, but I had a hard time getting into the storyline and characters. It was a sweet idea, but not enough substance for me.
I loved the idea of Jack and Emma together, but they seemed at arms length to me and not enough of them together really building their relationship.
The storyline of Christmas in September was a little odd to me too. I know it was for fundraising, but the story focuses more on the event than the characters in my opinion.
Sweet enough, but not enough for me to want to read on. Overall⭐️⭐️⭐️

A sweet feel good tale of a woman with twins that are now 6 years old whose husband and father to the twins walked out on her and the twins when they were babies and she never knew where he went and a man that did not believe in love finding love in this very small town in Montana where he meets her and her children when he goes to visit his brother who had moved from NY years before and is getting married. He finds her ex and things get complicated. The only spoiler I will give you!
