Do you ever hear anything when you listen to the sound of running water? Something other than the sound of the water itself.
Shandon Ray does.
As a child growing up in Maine, he realized that he had a connection to the substances that made up the world around him unlike anyone else seemed to have. For fear of becoming a total outcast, he kept this secret to himself and did very little to expand upon his strange ability.
As an adult, he’ll need to expose himself for what he really is and learn to harness these abilities quickly in order to help save the planet from an all-out invasion by aliens who are looking to massacre humanity and take the planet as their own.
Can one man standalone against an entire alien race bend on domination and destruction? Read “I Talk To Atoms” by Pete Gustin to find out.

I chose this as my first book of the new year. I can already tell you that this will be one of my favorite books this year! Just wow! I discovered this author/narrator on tiktok. Pete Gustin is a blind guy the enjoys surfing. Yes, you read that right. Then I find out I've heard his voice many times, as well as most of America. He does a lot of voiceover work for movie trailers, commercials, and the NFL. Through his tiktok I found out about his newest book, I Talk To Atoms. I had to check this out! He's also written two other books I've already bought and plan to start soon. One is narrated by him and the other is from a female perspective, so he has another narrator. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who loves sci-fi, superheroes, alien invasions, or just a good fun listen! I really hope Gustin plans to write a sequel to this book. If not, I hope to listen to more of his work very soon!
The main character had some flaws especially initially. However his development throughout the novel along with his abilities made for a satisfying read.
Unique premise. And nice treating Shandon as a confused young man trying to deal with his powers (and save humanity along the way) Looking to hear more from him!
