Riley Taylor is on a mission. She has escaped the dreaded burning plants along with a new faction of Volunteers. Now, she must fight to rid the country of the oppressive control the government has over its people. The first step in doing this is to free the citizens of the lens system and the castes it designates for each person.
Narration really good. Story good. But it gets nauseating hearing how she is basically nothing without Alex. This is a love story with a dystopian government in the background, and of course the various groups trying to take it down. Her designation went from green to nothing to black to nothing again I listened to this from Audible.
I didn’t really like this one. I found it quite confusing in places and unbelievable in others. Why did Audrey/Riley keep smashing up her apartment and who on earth managed to get all the glass out of the carpets and replace the mirrors. This was only part of the confusion. There were too many different names to remember who on earth they all were. I was constantly having to revert back to previous chapters to find out who they were… good guy / bad guy? And Riley is completely remade? Eyes, hair, skin, teeth, face remoulded and even her voice? Come on! Way too far fetched. I will try to read book 4 and hope it gets better. So far the first book was the best and gradually lost its appeal with each subsequent book.
4.5/5 stars I love that the author is letting us experience what it's like in each place--for example, in poor Brooklyn, in the Service, in the Stilts, in Canada, in the Burn, in Bronx, and now a high class rich citizen. But what bothers me most is Riley grew up poor and knows better than to waste food. But as soon as she gets surgery to change her appearance and becomes a rich citizen, she eats part of the ice cream container and leaves the rest to melt on a table. That bothered me so much, even tho she eventually drank the soup ice cream since it melted.

PG-13 I enjoyed this book MUCH more than the first two! There was actual romance, which I enjoy in the books I read. It was also interesting to get the perspective of the rich in upper Manhattan. It showed that it even in upper circles where they seem to have everything there are those that aren’t happy with the lens system. I will say I don’t totally get the ending though, I’m confused by it. Does Alex recognize Riley in her new skin or not actually and has been brainwashed?

Wow! This series is awesome! So many character that you get attached to. So much action and planning and twists and turns. Definitely loving this series. So far this is book 3 and it’s a page turner. I did get this book free from the author for my honest review. Really enjoying this series! A definite must read!
Was loving these "Lens" series books. This third book had some fun twists and turns but still kind of lost my interest. Too much repetition and inner dialogue was carried through from books 1 and 2 that it all ran together. Moving on to another series instead of delving into 4 and 5 (but books 1 and 2 were great!)
In general I liked the transition to Manhattan society, but Riley/Audrey's pining can be a bit much at points (of course as a YA of this sort romance is part of the theme, but not my favorite part here). And some of the fighting still just doesn't quite feel 'real'. But overall I feel like each volume is engaging me at least a little bit more....
Meeting new players in her destiny, you find yourself tying to determine friend from foe. As Riley continues her fight against oppression, new characters are introduced and old friends reappear. Since I don't read ebooks, I may have to wait for a paperback edition to continue this series.

Well I didn’t see that coming!!!! Well I kinda did but not that! Damn these books are so worth reading!!!! I must read the next one now! A definite recommend
Series continues to get better. I like the twists and changes in the plot and newly introduced characters. This story grows and does not get stale. I just wish there was better editing.
Lord, this story has more twists and turns!! Just when I get one figured out…oops, there’s another twist to the plot. I can’t wait to read the endIng!!
Continuing the series is Terrorist and it does not disappoint. The author continues to expand the world with Riley’s entrance into high society and as usual both sweet moments and heartache awaits for her and Alex. The new character additions were great. *edit* I’m now on a second read-through and I need to comment on just how great Riley and Alex’s chemistry is. They are just so lovable and the reader aches along with them for them to be together. Really well done!!

This is a really great book and series. It's a different concept which I'm not certain could actually happen but it's quite twisted. The writing is done really well. I just honestly can't decide how much I like the storyline but I keep reading and am headed to book 5. ;-)
