Lucas must choose between commitment and honor in the thrilling ninth installment of the series.
With the enemy force defeated and a safe haven for his new home, Lucas is convinced his life will finally return to some sort of normalcy with Sierra. But an unexpected trauma turns his world upside down, and he's faced with two impossible roads forward.
With enemies closing in and danger around every bend in the trail, can he survive against an adversary who will stop at nothing to see him, and those he loves most, dead?
The Day After Never - Nemesis - a review by Rosemary Kenny
In the aftermath of apocalyptic events in Texas, new (if reluctant) leader Lucas and partner Sierra have established a community in what they consider to be a safe haven there, in The Day After Never - Nemesis, Book 9 in Russell Blake's Post-Apocalyptic Dystopian Thriller series. The eponymous nemesis is the many cells of the Gang's Cartel opponents - all of whom want the survivalists dead at all costs as a matter of honour and group pride. As the action moves to Colorado and beyond, Lucas must decide how far he, (and his supporters) are willing to go to remove all possibility of future retribution from the multi-headed hydra of crime that yearns to wipe all opponents from the scorched face of the Earth. This tale of what if...? could become a terrible reality and it's a truly gripping revelation.
Don't wait to grab yourself a copy asap and escape from your everyday humdrum life with Russell Blake's masterpiece of post-apocalyptic greatness, The Day After Never - Nemesis!
I'm getting a little antsy for the ending of this series. Sierra is a real pain and needs a tough girl attitude adjustment. I'm glad Elliot finally gave her one. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Lucas Shaw is settling down with Sierra and the children in Provo, Utah. A deathbed promise puts his loyalties to the test and threatens to tear his family apart. Meanwhile, the Illuminati continues to take power throughout Texas with whoever will lie in bed with them. The Crew, though it has been decimated by the Cartel, is trying to make a comeback.
Blake’s 9th novel in The Day After Never series, Nemesis finds Lucas making strange bedfellows with the same goal of defeating the Illuminati and liberating Texas. As always, the story is action-packed and fast-paced.
I’m not exactly sure where the story is going to go but it’s obvious that there are several lore novels left in this series.
Sierra works on my nerves through the entire series. Very happy when Elliott put her in her place. Loving the series with all the twists and turns but it’s starting to get where you know where it’s going with the wars. Go after them and win. Hoping to see a little more twists in action in the final books.
Everything goes right for Lucas, all the time. Sierra is a major pain in the ass and is frustrating beyond all comprehension. I don't like that authors put contentious women in their stories. It's realistic that a female would act like that faced with the storyline's reality.
I always look forward to the next installment. Great series. Dystopian is my favorite genre and I'm always all in when i find good one. This has been one of the best I've read in a long time!
It’s never easy in the Apocalypse… And even though war is hell, Lucas and company are hanging on and moving towards their end goal - Freedom. Blake is a master story teller. I’ve been reading his works ever since I found JET… you should check her out.
The battle continues. Lucas is now in charge of the advancing army. A position he didn't want, but so no other options. The men respect him. Their fighting to free Texas, Colorado and any other fortifications of cartel control. Once and for all. Alliances are made with both sides not trusting each other. Another excellent read in this series!
6 books now and I think another few on the. Way. Really. Like these books. It's silly I know but the currency of the moment is peripherals and ammunition. Every thing has gone to pot, no grid other than solar. What bugs me is(silly I know) but who makes the reloads..They shoot every thing up.and have little wars every book. They don't police their brass,so where does the symptoms from. As I said I like the books just getting tired of it
Good plot. The ending is merely a set up for the next in the series. It leaves the reader hanging. It will be interesting to see where the author takes the story.
Thank you for this series. Lucas is awesome! Not gonna lie I'm jonesing for next Dan book. If you other people on Goodreads have not check out Russel Blake , then do it. I read the whole series in a couple of weeks.
