Madison Bell has tried everything to keep her diner from failing in the small town of Holly Springs. When a handsome stranger shows up just before Christmas should she trust his marketing advice or keep doing things her own way?
Jake Tyler has two motivations for traveling to the tiny town of Holly Springs: he needs to learn why his parents have kept him from his grandmother his whole life, and he’s got orders to evict a diner owner from his family’s building. But when he meets Madison, the charming woman running the diner, he realizes that he has a real shot of helping her keep her business. If only he can keep his motives a secret.
But as feelings begin to develop, will Madison and Jake find a way to come together in order to save the diner, and themselves?
A pretty good book! I started off really disliking all of the characters except for the grandma🤣 they ended up growing on me. It was cute but nothing crazy
I’m sure we have all had the feeling at one time or another in our lives that we don’t want something to end, in my case, I wasn’t completely ready to let go of the Christmas season of reading to end! I found this novella and it didn’t disappoint!
Kasey Stockton brought to life the world of Holly Springs and some interesting characters in it too! Normally the idea of reverse grumpy/sunshine doesn’t intrigue me, but something about drew me in! Madison, a hardworking diner operator in the middle of smalltown America who is down on her luck and very jaded by the spirit of the season is our female protag. She’s struggling to keep things going with her business, has a seemingly lack luster relationship and gets hit square in the nose by a random flying hot sauce bottle – you can’t help but feel bad for the girl!
Said thrower is Jake! He’s a man who exudes success and is in town for business and a secret that he isn’t about to reveal anytime soon (or at least not easily explain to the locals)! As fate would have it, Jake ends up renting the room above Madison’s diner and now the two are thrust into each other’s lives even from a distance! Jake must follow orders to evict Madison from the building, but something tells him to try a different approach from his business associate/brother! The more time they spend around each other, the more they discover not everything is as it might seem, and they allow their hearts to guide them!
This is a great novella that is full of heart and should not be missed or skipped over! This story is one that had a few twists and turns, I didn’t see coming and loved immensely! Here’s hoping you can hold on to the holiday spirit just a little bit longer like me! Happy New Year!
Madison, lost her Dad to cancer just the Christmas before. She was lost, she tried to keep his diner going but it was more difficult than she imagined. Madison carefully placed their family ornament on the community tree. Her wish which never came tru was that she would Dad for Christmas. Ryan, a business with a soft heart had arrived in town to evict Madison, but he had a secret of his own. Ryan was searching for something he missed since he was a child -his maternal grandmother. Paul, Marks brother was more like his Dad, all business and no time for anything sentimental. Ryan had to keep his search for his Grandmother quiet lest he be at his brothers rathe. How will these two lost souls find each other and happiness -a little Christmas magic. I hope you enjoy their journey. It’s filled with surprises, reunions and some delicious treats!
This was such a fun, quick read and the perfect Hallmark-esque story for the holidays!
Madison and Jake were seriously the cutest. (Okay, okay, I know I say that a lot. But that doesn't make it any less true.) Both of them were extremely likable. Madison was determined and worked hard to achieve her goals, while Jake was super sweet and kind. They were so perfect for each other. Also, Mark is a jerk. He deserves a kick to the shins.
I also loved that this book took place in a small town. It was so much fun to read about all their traditions as a town during the holidays.
Moral of the story here friends is that if you like contemporary romances set in small towns at Christmas time, you need this book in your life this holiday season. I have spoken.
She's desperate to keep her dad's diner afloat. He's there to evict her. A little Christmas magic might change everything.
This was an adorable small town romance!!! I loved Madison and Jake and their character growth. Their support of one another was so sweet and there were some really cute moments between them. Madison's baking skills had my mouth WATERING. You are a lucky man, Jake XD The side characters were wonderful too! It was fun getting to know them, though I feel like I need more books now. Such a cozy Christmas story, a sweet romance wrapped up with a little bit of Christmas magic.
I really enjoyed reading this book very much. It has something that is special about it that I find hard to define...I think the characters are very real and I found them to be people I would actually like to know in real life. The town they live in is a very charming backdrop for the story, too. If you read the story summary, at first it doesn't sound all that different from the other romance books out there...and yet it is. I highly recommend this book to all of you Romance fans. It's incredibly sweet! ❤

This book was so cute. I loved the character and I loved the town. Makes me miss the small town I grew up in. This author is so good at making her character feel like real people. I loved the Christmas aspects to the story and I loved the ending. The narrator was AWESOME. She did great changing her voice for the different characters and she did a great job making her voice sound masculine for the male characters.
Madison is great at baking but terrible at running her father’s diner. Jake is in Holly Springs to evict the owner of the diner since his family owns the building and the occupant is behind on the rent. Nothing is as simple as it seems at first. This is a romance so expect Madison and Jake to fall in love. The narrator does a good job and other than a bit of drama this is a fun holiday listen. I received the audiobook from the author with an opportunity to review.
Great story with big city exec coming to small town and falling in love with the girl and the town. The twist is he’s coming to evict for from the failing diner she inherited from her dad. She’s a whiz at baking though if he can convince her to take that direction. There’re relationships, secrets, and unresolved grief from her dad’s death and Who Is this handsome man who showed up and living above the diner. Clean.
“I really liked this guy. Like really, really liked him.”
“I really liked this guy. Like really, really liked him.”
I enjoy a great story that takes us through the growth of the main characters while sprinkling in the sweet clean romance. The townspeople antics were entertaining and the trials to overcome relatable. I too really liked this guy! Jake is a wonderful book-boyfriend.
I enjoyed reading this story about a young woman who is about to be evicted from the diner that she inherited from her dad. Along comes the man intending to do the eviction until meeting said young woman. There are a few twists and turns along the way as she bakes up a storm trying to save her diner. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I enjoyed this book but it did take me a while to read because I just couldn’t get super invested in this story. The characters were cute and I enjoyed their story, but it just felt kind of slow to me and didn’t draw my attention immediately. But it’s still a good book with a sweet romance so I would recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book, even though I didn't get to it before Christmas, it was totally worth the time to read it. What a wonderful feeling it leaves you with to have a family reunion and the thrill of first love rightness to leave you so happily sighing!
A bit predictable. The moment of "conflict" was pretty cliché. However, I always give appreciation points for a clean romance, and the characters were lovely people, except for the villain, of course.
Another good story from this author. I can always trust Kasey Stockton for a clean, sweet romance and a happy ending. It's interesting how Jake and Madison meet, the secret he keeps from her, and the circumstances that kept him from his grandmother all these decades.
3.5 ⭐️easily. Cute and quick Christmas read. Would have loved a little bit more in terms of some closure in plot lines / knowing how certain things came about. But overall an enjoyable palette cleanser of a read
Madison is struggling to keep her Dads dream alive. Jake wants to help her realize her own dreams. Clashes happen, witty banter and one of the funniest meet cute's ever! This is a perfect holiday read.
It’s a sweet story that puts you in the Christmas spirit whether you’re reading in December or April. Estranged family reconnected and lost loved ones being mourned. This book has it all
This was such a cute and sweet holiday romance! I liked Jake and Madison and how things worked out in the end. This is a great Christmas read and will get you in the mood for the holidays!
This is a heartwarming Christmastime story of a young man reuniting with his grandmother and finding a more meaningful life in a small but tightly knit community.
