I am a huge fan of Abigail Raines. She knows how to write a great story with characters that you would want for your friends! This is the forth story in the Alpha Dragon Club series. You don't have to read the previous stories to enjoy this one, but you might as well, since they are fantastic. You will get a better understanding of these guys and what they will do for their 'blood brothers'. They are all Alpha dragons and very rich. That doesn't mean that everything comes easily for them just because they are rich. I think that being rich makes it even harder to fine happiness.

Laura is a human female who fell for a guy, Darrel. At first he was nice and kind and then for the next few years he was abusive. Nothing broken, but verbal and in ways that would make her feel weak and powerless. She now knows that not only is he a mobster but he is a dragon too. When she found out she was pregnant, she ran. She has been running for two years and now lives in a small town in Washington state. She is a freelance writer who writes from home while she raises her adorable little daughter, Beth.

Jessie has been on his own since his parents were murdered by a fellow dragon. First he lived on the streets and then he started doing little jobs for a guy who paid him very well. As he grew older, and bigger, aka HUGE, he became Darrel's go to guy. Darrel knew that Jessie didn't like to play hitman, but now and then he did, but only if the guy was a really bad person. As he has gotten older, in his thirties, and seen all his friends in the Alpha Dragon Club find their mates, he is thinking of getting out of the business. He tells Darrell he is thinking of getting out and is sent on a vacation for two weeks and told he will be sent an easy job to do. Thinking it was just to pick up a package or something, he waits a few days to open the email with the job. Meanwhile, he meets the neighbor, a beautiful woman with a one year old baby, who is a dragon. The more he is around her the more he feels she is his mate. After being really close, he figures he should check out the easy job Darrel sent him to do. Not only is it a hit, which he hates to do, it is on an innocent female, Laura.

Have you read the teaser to the book yet? Then you know Jessie, an orphaned dragon, was the hitman for the mob. His boss? Darryl, aka D," a dragon shifter as well and rather ruthless and bloodthirsty. Even though, most of the time, the hits Jessie had to make were evil monsters, it still played upon his conscience and now he's tired of the life. He wants out. Even if it did pull him off the streets and give him everything he thought he wanted when he started running errands, being a hitman was becoming too much. He confessed as much to D one night when they had gone to the club and D suggested he take a vacation. And since he was going, if Jessie would do one more job for him, D would pay for the secluded cabin for two weeks. Jessie agreed. What comes next is definitely not what was expected. Abigail Raines gives us the story of the fourth member of the Alpha Dragon Club. This one for some reason felt a bit stilted to me at the beginning but it did eventually pick up and the characters became more relatable. Two seemingly nervous and awkward characters, both carrying secrets, and an underlying plot that eventually comes to a head. Even though this book didn't seem to have the intensity as the previous ones in the series, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and am anticipating the next one.

Jessie was an orphaned dragon shifter until Darryl, a mobster and dragon shifter took him off the streets. All grown up Jessie does Darryl’s dirty work for him. Jessie is ready to get out of this lifestyle but Darryl convinces him to take one last job whish is out in the woods. Jessie agrees looking forward to spending time in the woods. He meets Laura and sparks fly, but what will happen when he learns that she is the one he is supposed to kill. Fast-paced shifter read with plenty of twists and turns plus steamy chemistry. I liked it.

You have already read the blurb but let me say that it was fantastic.
Well written with characters that connect on so many levels and eventually reward their hearts with each other. What would you do for the one you were told to eliminate and found was meant for you?
It heart warming watching these two characters connect before the truth is revealed. Then to see how love wins out.
Great series!

You can risk everything to protect those you love... even your life.

What a rush! The action is non- stop. Abi has created a world filled with good and evil, innocence and terror, love and hate. You will be drawn in from the first pages. You will marvel at the strength of the characters. You will fall in love wirh them and along with them. There is violence (dragons), self- doubt, sacrifice, and sex. Did I mention an adorable baby? You will love this book!
This is the story of Jessie and Laura. Laura has escaped from her dragon captor. Fearing for the life of her unborn child, she flees. Jessie was taken off the streets as a child and given a home and purpose by Darryl, a crime Lord and dragon. Now a hit-man, he wants out. One last job. Unfortunately, he falls in love with Laura and her child. Then he finds out she is the target; that Darryl is the man she escaped from. Jessie has to wrestle with who he really is inside. Can he kill an innocent in cold blood?
Don't worry. There is HEA. Getting there is rocky, sometimes violent. This book has compassion, passion, unexpected love, courage, and, steamy sex. You will laugh with them, feel their anguish, cheer for them, love with them. Get. This. Book! It is everything you have come to expect from Abi.

Jessie started life on the streets as an orphan dragon shifter, picked up by the ruthless and powerful Darryl who trained him to be the New York mafia’s hit man. When he had to kill heartless evil enemies of the mafia, he could somewhat try to justify what he was doing, but each murder added to the toll on his conscience. Eventually he knew he needed to stop. He was tired of this life and uncomfortable with what he was being asked to do.

Jessie is given a “vacation” where he was asked to do one more job for Darryl. Jessie agrees to the favor and heads for the cabin in the woods. Meeting a freelance copy writer named Laura and her daughter is life-changing for him, and he’ll need to make a big decision for his life. Laura is the “hit” that he has been asked to complete! He knows the consequences of not carrying out the assignment. Is he ready to introduce her to his shifter secret and his past life mistakes? Is he able to protect them from the retaliation he knows will come from the mafia?

This was an emotional story that captivates the reader from the start. The reader is compelled to feel Jessie’s anguish and want happiness for him. Grab your copy and experience this story from the start. Jessie, Laura, and her child deserve a good life. Will they find it as a family, or will their peace be shattered by evil?

Jessie grew up on the streets and was taken in by Darrell, a mobster. Jessie became a errand boy and graduated to harder stuff as he grew older. He began to question his life around thirty years of age and wanted to leave. Carelessly mentioning it after drinking to much. Darrell overheard his mumblings and sent him on a vacation; and also to kill someone for him. Laura had settled in a tiny time with her infant Beth. She worked online as a article writer for agricultural items and was barely making it. They meet up when Laura is walking home pulling a small wagon with groceries and Beth strapped to her chest. Jessie could tell the baby was a dragon shifter but didn't ask about it. He felt instantly connected to Laura. I won't tell the rest of the story because it is so interesting. I loved reading the plot and the well written characters. A little different take on this book.

This is the fourth and final book in the alpha dragon club and is the story of Jessie He was an orphan dragon shifter taken in off the street by Darryl he has trained as a hit-man and even though most that he has killed have been vile he is wanting to leave this life behind. Darryl agrees if he will do one last job and will even give him a paid for vacation home to live in while he is doing the job killing two birds with one stone. While he is vacationing he meets Laura and her daughter Beth they are on the run has her job as a copywriter has put her in the cross hairs of a mafia don. Jessie is instantly attracted to Laurie in fact she is his mate so imagine his horror when he discovers she is the hit he is suppose to make Will he be able to keep her safe when he refuses to kill her and others are sent You will have to read to see

This is another book in the Alpha Dragons Club series. Jessie is a dragon shifter that was orphaned at a young age and left to grow up on the streets on his own. He gets the attention of Darryl, who is dragon shifter as well as a New York mobster. Jessie is indebted to Darryl but is growing tired of the violent lifestyle. Just one more 'job' and he is out. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! Things are just starting to get complicated when Jessie meets Laura and her daughter, Beth. His nightmare is just beginning as Jessie's last job for Darryl is to kill Laura. What an amazing story! I was captivated and found myself rationalizing.....just one more page until I reached the end. Enjoy!

A great book in the series, though could easily be read as a standalone as there are few references to the other characters and little interaction.
Jessie is an enigma. Sweet and caring, very supportive to his other alphas. But he hides a dark past and present.
Laura is in hiding, living in the back of beyond, scraping by and surviving. She is off the grid, hiding from her ex. What she didn't know is she should be hiding from Jessie.
I loved the character interaction and plot detail. I enjoyed the pace and flow of the story.
I definitely recommend this book and series.

This was a riveting tale a gangster-like dragon shifter, Darryl, who thought he owned everything and everyone; the human woman, Laura, who was being abused and threatened but managed to leave without leaving a trail; and Jessie, a dragon-shifter whom Darryl had pulled off the streets, given him jobs, and cultivated in Jessie a sense of forever owing Darryl. The plot, twists and nature of the story unfurled in a natural way and had you rooting for Jessie and Laura the whole way.

I've liked this series, so far. I was skeptical of this title, because I really don't like gangster books. Jesse takes the protection of his mate seriously, although she is carrying another dragon shifter's baby. He goes as far as to destroy his boss because his boss sent him to do a hit on Laura. The good thing is that Jesse belongs to the Alpha Dragon Club and they seem to balance out the dirty part of his life. I would have like to have seen some of the characters from the other stories in this book. It would have given it more of the series feel.

Another amazing book in the Alpha Dragon Club series! It is well written, action-packed, exciting, and well developed on the edge of your seat read! An emotionally deep read with suspense, secrets, and twists and turns. The characters are likeable and you will root for them; their chemistry is off the charts. Quite an enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book.

This story was a little sad because of Jessie's childhood, but the love story between him and Laura was sweet. This author has a good way with words of describing the scenery and emotions that are going on in the story. I recommend that you read this book.

Great storyline. Both Jessie and Beth have a damaged psyche from situations in their pasts. When these two get together, sparks fly and they are able to support each other. Enter the villain, and their world is turned upside down again. Can Jessie protect his mate or will evil prevail? I love this addition to the series. It kept me turning page after page to see what would happen.
