A cocky Scot, an innocent pole dancer and a penthouse apartment with a view.
What could go wrong?
To escape her difficult past Sasha jumps into an opportunity of managing the sale of the stylish,up market apartment.
All of this sounds like a dream, but no one has ever mentioned the arrogant, mouthy Scottish god that lives next door.
The problem is that Dexter isn’t just good looking, he is also a fist-clenching, heart-pounding, fervent hot man, who makes her heart flutter uncontrollably.
She hates his cock-sure attitude.
With the talent, of melting women’s panties off at a glance, he thinks he can have Sasha too. Well, he couldn’t be more wrong. Sasha would rather eat dirt than sleep with him.
He vows not to fall for her, but their scorching attraction proves impossible to ignore…
This is one of the worst books I’ve read in a long time. The characters are awful, the plot is nothing but mindless drama, and the smutty parts of the book are so one dimensional that I even skipped over them. I’m all for tropey asshole guys and the women that make them change, but this was painful. Dexter isn’t endearing, and even with all of his past trauma and mental health issues, he still somehow manages to not have any redeeming qualities. Sure, he loves Sasha, but even after being medicated, he’s a dick to waiters because he wants to have sex. Gross. This book basically takes an inventory of all of the things that are supposed to develop characters into people you love, and skips past that by exposition dumping with internal monologues so long that most of the time there is no character interaction beyond them having sex. Why do these people like each other? Because they’re neighbors and who doesn’t want to hate fuck an angry Scottish man whose whole personality is based on his ability to be repulsively unpleasant? Sasha, that’s who, because she’s a chubby woman who has been cheated on and now needs this lovable narcissist sociopath to fuck her until she realizes her worth as a strong independent woman who is considered sassy because she doesn’t immediately jump in bed with aforementioned douche bag, but will eventually acquiesce because who can turn down that much hot cock…. Just, no.
"My name is Sasha, not Barbie,” she snapped. Sasha, hmm. I once knew a stripper with that name. I liked it.
Dex: "It was a shame that I normally didn’t fuck blondes, but for this blonde I was willing to make an exception to that rule."
"I get a bit stressed when I don’t get pussy.”
"My six o’clock fuck is going to be here soon, unless you’re volunteering to satisfy me instead?"
These lines are all from their first meeting. Direct quotes.
I love a raunchy read but this one is just... awful. The male lead is a pig. Usually in books, dirty talk is more flexible. Stuff that wouldn't fly in a real conversation is able to be sexy because of the setting, characters, etc. None of what Dexter said was sexy. What he said was weirdly demeaning to women and just...dumb. Nothing flowed and the dialogue was awkward and disjointed. The fact that she was even entertaining him as he said this shit (that frankly sounded like a frat dillweed trying to be cooler than he actually was) on their first encounter made me physically sick.
But hey, you have the quotes. Make of it what you will.
the bitch was so week, like man have some balls and your a tripper dancer and a nurse im sure thats not allowed anyways dex is a horny slut i hate him , he always wants a pussy. i hate the book soorrryyy author but this sucked so bad i acctully thought the girl was going to be feminist and go "you cant have sex with me you horny kid" but she went "oh yeahh fuck me" tf man anyways dexton hadnt evem knonw sasha and he wants her SO bad. TF they both need therapesists, this book went so fast i finished it in like 2 hours 😐
Beyond disappointing. The writing was amateur level and lacked any sophistication. The plot was abysmal and the characters lacked depth. Give this whole series a pass it’s not worth your time.
I absolutely loved this book! I read it in a couple of hours. The characters were so great! I loved the cat and mouse type chase they had. The growth of Dexter was beautiful and inspiring. I love how Sasha got a closure with her abusive ex. I was worried that he was just going to be forgotten with no consequences. The book was sexy and intense, dramatic, but also romantic. The sex scenes were so intense and very realistic! I definitely recommend. I can't wait to read the next book!

Going into on the edge, i was sceptical, a lot of the reviews said its terrible, there’s no accountability there’s no character development. Anything bad you could think for a book was in a review. I decided to give it a go anyway. Now I’m not one to leave bad reviews but i needed to be honest and this is how i found it…
1. There was absolutely no need for chapter 9. It was thrown into the middle of a completely different situation and that chapter could have been closer to the start after sasha and dexter’s first interaction.
2. It was clear that it was published by the author. Many grammar mistakes and extra words. It sounds like it was written by a teenager.
3. It had no real back story. It had little pieces but it seemed like the book was written just for the spicy scenes.
4. It seemed very rushed through. No real time was spent on scene building or the story line. I felt like i was reading the same thing every chapter. It also seemed like there was a spicy scene in every chapter.
5. I think if the author had a publisher and took her time with the book, I believe it would have been a lot better.

I really wanted this to be a pleasant surprise. I was hoping for a new rom-com. Sadly, the story fell short. It had potential but was all over the place. I did like that the author didn't wait until the last few chapters to make Dexter redeem himself and suddenly be a perfect man instead of a cad.
I appreciate the hard work of this author as I can't so what she has done.
Where do i begin. The book starts off with smut. It took me by surprise. The ML is an ass. I feel bad for him but he kinda a perv. Like mf got hard by looking at sasha. Umm he kinda annoyed me. I liked her tho mainly abt sex. The plot was kinda dry
This book is genuinely one of the worst books I have read in my entire life. I truly thought those words would never come out of my mouth but I genuinely mean it. I could barely make it halfway through the book without deciding to quit reading. From the little bit that I read (I read this on Libby, as an E-Book) there was your basic issues such as grammatical errors and spelling issues. Which you normally see in a book, but on the copy that I tried to read? There was a ridiculous amount. There was also absolutely no plot, no character development, nothing. All there was? An extremely annoying, egotistical, ignorant, arrogant MMC. It was absolutely ridiculous. There was hardly any moments for either of the characters to reflect unless the MMC actually thought about other things than his own self. To be frank, I would tell Dexter (the MMC) that he needs to seek therapy ASAP. The FMC had a little bit more character to her, but even then, there was still barely anything. While I was trying to read this, all i could think of is, "Wow, she's just an object and a little play-thing that he takes mind of only qhen he needs her". It's grossed me out. As many other people have said in the comments, if someone told me that a man wrote this? I would 100% believe them. Another thing to point out, (as someone else also did the same thing) if you're going to write about someone from another countryn please get their slang right. It's honestly just cringey to hear a Scottish man speaking more American and British slang more than anything. Normally when I'm reading and a character is from another country, I can normally imagine what the character would sound like, along with an accent. I could barely do that with this. This review was pretty long, but all in all, I wouldn't recommend this. DNF.
I do not remember adding this to my library's to-read list, but when I see a good review, I check whether the audiobook is available at my library; if it is, I add it to my loan list. I have no idea when, but at some point in the past, I added this book to my awaiting-loan list. I had just finished my latest book when I received a notification from my library that this title was available. I usually reread the reviews before starting a book by a new author, but this time I just started listening. While this book remains above 3.5 stars, I now see the negative reviews and should have paid closer attention.
WTF. After one hour, I realized that men are not the target audience for this writer. If I could assign a rating of less than 1 star, I would have. The characters and the plot are shallow and distasteful, and the writing is bad. Way too much emotional baggage to even pass as porn.
Goodreads has a user tool that allows readers to "follow an author". This book makes me wish they had a tool, "authors I never want to hear about again".
some one would've told me that this book is written by a man and I would completely believe them
from the very first chapter I just knew that this book was not going to good
Dexter: "you didn't answer the question" I said. watching the way she moved. No other woman had ever ignored me while I was giving her my full attention. Anger rushed through me
oh I'm sorry sir like what do you expect her to do she just ran into you a random man and a random filling each other in an elevator and you expect her to what answer your question as this book was going on it just seems like the only thing going on in dexter head is sex and the shape of a woman body
Started to read this book because I felt like a little spicy enemies to lovers, couldn’t not even make it past 30% before I got bored. Plot was boring and smut wasn’t even worth it. Main guy just an utter ass who thinks about and talks about sex 24/7 and is an absolute perv, while the main chick claims she’s not going to give in to his tricks yet let’s him in 2.5 chapters later! Like common where is the tension build up?
Got this recommendation from bookTok and what a waste of money and time 😢 Definite DNF
Absolutely terrible. If you're going to write characters from a different country, make sure you get the lingo right. Also, bad writing, the characters are very similar despite supposedly being opposites. She's disgusted by him then 2 seconds later wants to jump his bones and is apparently being "seduced" there's 0 seduction he's being gross the same as he was when she didn't like him (less than a page before). Just a really awful book, with lots of repetitive information and telling of personality without actually just showing it.
Sasha is a strong girl, i felt sorry for what happen to her in the past. Dex, annoying but hot neighbour. I love how he protect Sasha from her ex. It's dual pov book by the way...
Tbh, this book was the first smutty book ive read before. I can say that the sex part in this book is quite hot and a lot. Dex having sex with multiple of girl before he met Sasha. Can't blame him because he got problem that make him be like that. Sasha help him to overcome his problem....

I overall enjoyed this book. The character development was pretty good and by the end I was really rooting for Dex. The whole methadone causing psychosis kind of took me out of it (bugs me more in books than movies and shows) but I remind myself most people don’t research heavily on some of the ideas.
I don’t know why but I feel like the novella at the end of the book (I found a link to a “sequel” to this story) was totally rushed. I mean **MEGA SPOILER ALERT**
Like, he want’s to propose to her, and then she gets pregnant, and it all happens to fast. The book was an ok, but I don’t recommend the sequel if anyone wants to know what really happened to Sasha and Dexter

I can tell a lot of people disliked the book but I do not think it is as bad as they say. Sure, it's not the absolute best book I've ever read but I still very much enjoyed it. It was nothing special but by no means a waste of time. I thought the book was great.
With the way this was written I thought it was either written by a man or a 13 year old. I have migraines from the mental whiplash of Dexter's mood changes. This book certainly had me on the edge... edge of DNF'ing
major dnf. i found the interactions between these two to be really gross, and i felt like the MMC was just gross, an asshole and was overall mean and degrading. and not in a hot way. like in a sleazy, catcalling way. not for me.

It was a very basic read, but it was a good read lots of twist and plots I didn’t know that was expecting, and the smut was very good. The MMC is a bit of a knob but you have to read on to understand it makes a lot of sense!!
