Leviathan has dismantled S.H.A.D.E.-and that means Frankenstein is once again a free agent! Now he can set his sights on his former mentor, Melmoth, the one evil that got away. With bad things happening all across the Multiverse, this may be Frankenstein’s last shot at setting things right. Of course, Melmoth has his own agenda, and it’s going to take more than a lone monster to take him down. So Frankenstein heads to Gotham City in search of allies and recruits Killer Croc, Lady Clayface, Orca and vampire Andrew Bennett. But will even these dread creatures be enough to save humanity before the entire cosmos collapses in on itself?
Steve Orlando does a good job of tidying up lose-ends of good ideas by writers like Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis. In many ways this is a sequel/follow-up to Seven Soldiers (where the Unexpected was more a sequel to Final Crisis than Metal).
It's fallout from Brian Michael Bendis' Leviathan event.
I'm just disappointed that Orlando didn't get to use Super Demon!
Somehow just not very interested. Probably because the characters and mentions of other elements of the universe don’t matter to me. The goriness and such is cool and surprising to see in a comic that otherwise reads like it’s for younger audiences, but there’s just not a lot there for me to care about.
Good introduction to the story and the main selection of characters that will be used. Always love the more “monstrous” characters and this story looks like it will feature some that I’ve not read about before, like the orca.
