I loved this story. Whether you have read all the books of Ms Nicholas’s series titled Sapphire Falls, or this is your first one, or like me, you have only read a few, it makes no difference because each story in this town is filled with interesting characters full of imperfections just like you and me, and are stand alone. Everyday people, some with more baggage than others ,but all with a heart and deep feelings.
This one centers around Scott, one of the town’s cops who also works in a task force outside his jurisdiction, and Peyton, the seemingly happy go lucky girl, whose parents have not paid attention to her because of their own dysfunctional relationship. She is “wild” , the the one always doing favors for others, while Scott is the straight laced one. But they are attracted to each other. Scott is her I.C.E (in case of emergency) contact and no matter what, he is always there to rescue her. When he gets shot, she runs to take care of him. They make a pact which will test them but also will open their eyes to a world of possibilities.
The story also reminds us that our childhood experiences do in fact affect us as adults. That life does offer hope and love and when you find someone who “gets you” , you are blessed to be that someone special for them as well.
The secondary characters are just as engaging and I can’t wait to find out what Ms Nicholas has in store for Dr Kyle.
I was gifted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
