Sapphire Falls #8

Getting It Right

Rate this book
Everything was going according to Doctor Kyle Ames’s grand life plan— except her.

Hannah McIntire. The one that got away.

He thought he could survive losing her. Out of sight, out of mind and all that B.S. As long as he didn’t have to see her for a couple more years... or decades. Or maybe forever.

But now she’s back in Sapphire Falls to help her grandmother, Kyle’s patient and one of his favorite people, recover from hip surgery. Their paths are more tangled than ever. Thankfully, it's only temporary.

Surely Hannah can survive living in her hometown for a few weeks. As long as she doesn't have to deal with Kyle. The guy she never got over.

But Kyle isn’t about to make anything easy on her. To make her grandmother happy, he’ll pretend they’ve kissed and made up. Leaving her no choice but to play along.

What could go possibly wrong? Plenty.

Like the pretend seduction feeling far too real.

He’s not the same Kyle... he’s way better.

And this time there is no walking away.

From the very first book in Erin Nicholas’ Sapphire Falls series, I fell in love with the town and its crazy, sweet, and loving residents. After You is a second chance at love story; at times it is heartbreaking, at times it is fun loving, at times it is sexy, but most of all it is romance with a heart and that is one thing Ms. Nicholas always delivers.

Growing up in Sapphire Falls, Kyle Ames spent his childhood and teenage years helping anyone who needed help. Kyle is a good man, the best actually and he and his girlfriend, Hannah McIntire had plans, big ones. After he completed medical school and she completed physical therapy training, they would return to their hometown and take care of the residents giving them the medical care they deserved. Only three years ago Hannah broke things off with Kyle and stayed in Seattle where she has been ever since, but with her beloved grandmother facing hip surgery, Hannah has returned with her best friend, who happens to be male and a well known author in tow.

I’m a huge fan of second chance romances mainly because I enjoy couple rediscovering each other and the people they’ve become in the years they spent apart and in this book; we see that despite it all the affection and feelings these two had for one another never went away. I enjoyed watching them get to know one another again, building on the foundation that was laid years ago, and discovering new things about each other. While I was a bit disappointed that Hannah turned her back not only on the man she loved, but her family and a town who adored her I was sympathetic to the reason she did so. I understand people who like order in their lives so I could relate with Kyle quite a bit (as well as the younger Hannah), but I also know that at some point in life you begin to figure out that spontaneity can be exciting and good. I hated that Kyle had been hurt by Hannah, but I also hated that Hannah felt she had no choice.

After You is high on good times, friends, but low on angst making it another amazing and wonderful addition to Ms. Nichols beloved Sapphire Falls series.

Ok. After You was INSANELY good. Like, so good that I should have been working, but read instead. And now I'm sad that it's over. It had a perfect blend of good stuff to challenging. Sexiness of course. Somehow Ms. Nicholas always makes the impossible possible between the couples. And I'm always awed by that. And I always want more. Do not hesitate to pick up Kyle and Hannah's story, even if you haven't read the previous in the series!

First, if you haven’t read the entire series about Sapphire Falls, don’t worry. You can pick this book up, read and enjoy it, then get hooked enough to go back to the beginning of the series. Trust me, you will!

Kyle Ames is the small town doctor every girl wants to marry. He loves his family, his town, his profession and is everyone’s go-to guy for everything from health care to gardening to home repairs.

Hannah McIntire is the girl that got away. Childhood friends, high school sweethearts and the couple most likely to marry and raise a family in Sapphire Falls, plans didn’t exactly fall in line for Kyle and Hannah. Kyle stayed, Hannah left and the storybook ending didn’t happen.

Except that Kyle never really let go of his dream, Hannah didn’t explain her absence and fate always finds a way, especially in Sapphire Falls. The stars align, grandma needs surgery, a town creates it’s magic web around the couple and ....you guessed it! Fireworks!! Throw in a zombie-writing author, a car accident with painful rehab, some new age homeopathic oils and treatments, a few colorful townies and you have another winner from Erin Nicholas.

Sapphire Falls may be an imaginary place made up of imaginary characters who live imaginary lives. But to the dedicated readers of Erin Nicholas, Sapphire Falls is one more happy place that we continue to visit time after time, and continue to love with each new story!!!

After You by Erin Nicholas sucked me in from the start. I'm all for small town romances, especially second chance romances with a small town setting, and After You didn't disappoint on this front. Kyle and Hannah's chemistry was immediately palpable, and I wanted more. That first kiss when he was washing the car.... *fans self* You can't help rooting for them because you can feel that they belong together. However, I did find Hannah to be a wee bit unlikable at times, and I was frustrated with how long it took for her secret to come out. As much as I tried, I couldn't fully understand or support the past choices that lead to Kyle's first heartbreak. And maybe that's just me being bratty because I love Kyle and want a Kyle for myself! LOL

Generally, I love this town and it's people. I love Kyle and Hannah's grandmothers. I'm obsessed with Hannah's writer friend, and I'm so happy that Kyle and Hannah finally got their HEA.

I'm stoked for Derek's story, too!!

Another Awesome book by Erin Nicholas. I love the town of Sapphire Falls and would love to move there anytime.

Hannah used to live in Sapphire Falls but moved to Seattle to become a physical therapist. She had an accident there but did not tell her family how bad the accident was. Her high school sweetheart Kyle was used to Hannah helping him take care of everyone that when she wasn't able to do that anymore she decided it was time to end things with Kyle.

Three years later her matchmaker grandmother Alice is going to have hip surgery so she asks Hannah to come home to help her. She "mixes" up on telling Hannah the date so she arrives in town two weeks early.

When Hannah shows up she brings her thriller writer friend Kade with her. Kyle appears to be jealous of Kade, does he have a reason to be. Read the story and see for yourself. Will Kyle be able to talk Hannah into staying in town this time or will she go back to Seattle.

If you haven't ready any of Erin's Sapphire Falls books you are definitely missing out. This one should be on your to be read list without a doubt.

Erin Nicholas delivers, every single time.

To be honest, as I started After You, I wasn't sure whether I might be a little *gasp* burned out on Sapphire Falls--maybe I'd hit my limit on this feel-good, incredible town full of hot happy couples in the middle of Nebraska. And Kyle Ames and Hannah McIntire--another pair of high-energy, do-gooder, power-couple people? Being a bit of a lazy couch-potato myself, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to relate.

But I must admit that I had sorely underestimated Ms Nicholas and her ability to tell a unique story, to craft nuanced characters that have the power to pull readers in, and to capture emotions and vulnerability, all within the context of a community that is actually itself pretty amazing. I'm so sorry that I doubted, even for a moment!

Kyle and Hannah were the couple everyone expected to end up together, and no one was more surprised than Kyle when this didn't happen. But Hannah's back in town to help her grandmother with some health issues, and this is their chance for some real resolution.

The intervening few years have been full of change, especially for Hannah. It's now up to Kyle to see whether he can roll with those punches, so to speak. Ultimately Ms Nicholas tells a beautiful second-chance story, letting us witness a relationship's growing pains and, again, the power of truthfulness and revelation, reminding us that vulnerability within a loving relationship is not weakness, but in fact strength.

And thanks again to After You, I'm ready to pack my bags for Sapphire Falls! I'm going to to need a permanent residence there ;)

Once you hand over your heart to Erin Nicholas, know that it will be awhile before she gives it back. With open arms, Sapphire Falls invites readers to experience life in a small town. From clever word play that kept me on my toes to charming and friendly citizens, that shake off those daily woes. In the most simple of terms, author and characters deliver powerful lessons in lighthearted ways. After You is told through the eyes of past loves that took for granted what they had the first time around. Can Hannah and Kyle forgive each other and grab hold of the second chance fate is giving them? Never underestimate the power of romance. It wins ever time.

Wow, another great Sapphire Falls story! This one was so very sweet. I loved Kyle and Hannah throughout the whole book. I understood both of their prospective and really wanted them to find their happy ending. Kyle was the best doctor and citizen of Sapphire Falls. I think I could really use him in my hometown with all those house calls. I loved his reaction when he found out about everything Hannah had gone through - SWOON!!! And Hannah revealing her secrets and not feeling like she was enough made me sad. But I was glad for the ending and how it all worked out. Kyle and Hannah had a beautiful relationship. oh and I need my own Alice. Her character makes me miss my grandma - sweet little old lady with mischief in her eyes.

I absolutely loved After You. I immediately fell in love with Kyle and Hannah. I don't know how Erin Nicholas is able to top every book she writes, but she does. Kyle and Hannah have a relationship that just draws you in from the start. After You is fun, flirty, sexy and romantic. I laughed and reared up with Kyle and Hannah. I was sad when the book was done because I wanted more! If you haven't read the Sapphire Falls series don't worry, After You can definitely be read as a stand alone. Loved this book!

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

But without a stern pep talk before you step out the door, you’ll end up making one of the Blue Brigade ladies cry or saying something horrible about Dottie’s potpies or admitting that you know nothing about football and you’ll end up with a fork in your forehead.

…he listened to Elvis when he wrote his creepy, gory novels and ate oranges like he was trying to ward off scurvy. Not that she had anything against Elvis or oranges. Actually, she thought it was kind of sacrilegious to kill people off while listening to the King. Kade said that all that optimism and cheese and happiness in the songs made him homicidal.

Kyle was organized and scheduled and routine-oriented and… rigid. And that a lot of his social time was spent with people twenty to fifty years older than him, often involved manual labor, and seemed to be a perfect way for him to avoid socializing more.

I don’t care about matching bras and panties, Hannah… Doesn’t matter if they match once they’re on the floor…

My Review:

I am seriously behind as this is book number eight in the series and my first time reading a Sapphire Fall novel. What is wrong with me? Erin Nicholas is a recent discovery for me as well, but I plan to make up for lost time and pick up her books whenever I can. I enjoy the small town community that she has created as well as her uniquely quirky and recognizable characters. I did not fully appreciate Hannah at first, but I had complete empathy and understanding of her past behavior by the conclusion. Written from a dual POV, the storyline was busy and well balanced with humor, inner musings and insights, angst, bawdy talk, and a few bits of scalding hot steam. I will be looking forward to more trips to the quaint and peaceful Sapphire Falls.

If you love sapphire Falls and you love Erin Nicholas as much as I do, then you will love After You. The latest installment of the Sapphire Falls books features Kyle and Hannah. High school loves who part ways when Hannah goes off to school for PT and and Kyle goes to med school. When Hannah comes back to town to take care of her grandmom and runs in to Kyle again, the sparks fly. There is a theme in this book that is different for an Erin Nicholas book in that Hannah is a recovering addict to pain pills that she took after her accident. Ms. Nicholas handled this topic so well in my opinion and showed that Hannah has other options in her recovery. Well done all around.

Kyle Ames always believed he and Hannah McIntire would be together forever, but two years ago things changed and derailed the plans he had for his life. Yet, now she's back in Sapphire Falls to help her grandmother get back on her feet once she's had surgery, and Kyle doesn't know what to do. Will he help Hannah's grandmother in her plan to make sure Hannah stays in Sapphire Falls forever, or will their second chance at happy ever after never happen because he's a good guy that always does what he thinks is right for those he loves?

The Sapphire Falls series by Ms. Nicholas is one of her best; and a series that once you start reading you'll want to visit again and again, and this story was a wonderfully-crafted and captivating addition to this series. Not only because it's a second chance romance trope encompassing story, but because of the incredible main characters that try to fight their second chance, which proves impossible; secondary characters that are determined to play matchmaker because they want the heroine to return home; and the dialogue that had me amused due to Kyle always being a good guy that looks out for everyone and the heroine determined to make the hero be a little bit more spontaneous.

The way this story started had me amused by Hannah's grandmother and what she wants to do. Certainly, she's determined to play matchmaker and will do her best to convince others to help, especially Kyle. Will he fall into line with the older woman's plans? The incentive she offers is definitely a good deal, but I could understand why the hero decides on the plan of action he does. Getting his hopes up that Hannah will finally realize Sapphire Falls is where she should be is pointless, especially since her returning home hasn't happened so far.

The dialogue was well-written, very engaging and I loved whenever Kyle and Hannah conversed, or when one of the main characters interacted with one of the secondary characters. Both Kyle and Hannah have fantastic friends that aren't afraid to offer their advice; sound advice that both should definitely listen to, if they're to achieve their happy ever after. Hannah can't keep running just because of her past and the shame she feels due to what happened to her after her accident. Will she finally confess to Kyle why she feels she can't return to Sapphire Falls? Furthermore, the heroine is strong, brave and I liked how determined she was to help Kyle be more spontaneous. He needs fun in his life just as much as he needs to help people.

While Kyle, he needs his life shaken up and I liked how Hannah does just that. She's good for him in making him realize that he doesn't always have to be responsible, even though it's palpable he enjoys looking out for people. I also liked the bond the hero shared with the heroine's grandmother, which proves how good of a guy he is and that anyone woman would be lucky to have him. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is the decision he was willing to make to prove to Hannah that they deserve a second chance.

Overall, Ms. Nicholas has penned another spellbinding read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was off-the-charts, the romance was hot and illustrated how right these two are for each other, and the joyous ending had me loving Kyle more than I already did. His words to Hannah were beautiful, because he knows that he can't let her get away again. Two years apart is long enough. I would recommend After You by Erin Nicholas, if you enjoy second chance romances, the matchmaking trope, or books by authors Samantha Chase, Melanie Shawn, Jennifer Bernard and Jill Sanders.

Another really entertaining book by Erin Nicholas set in the wonderful town of Sapphire Falls. It's always fun to come home to all the characters who after only one book will make you feel like they truly are old friends. I'm not one bit ashamed to admit how much I look forward to each new book in this series. AFTER YOU, is the latest and features the hometown doc, Kyle Ames.

Kyle is given a second chance with the girl he's loved ever since he knew what it was to love a woman. They were together since they were teens and made solid plans for their future life together. Kyle loves plans. He loves predictability almost as much as he loves Hannah. But when they went away to college, things happened that made Hannah feel she no longer lived up to the dream life she knew Kyle was expecting to live. She decided it was best to make new plans for a different life and not go back to Sapphire Falls. After three years she's back in town to help her grandmother and well, no one can resist the pull of true love in Sapphire Falls. But they are both older and have changed with time. Can they find love again, a new love that can overcome the pain of their past. This is a great love story. Great time back in my favorite fictional town with my favorite characters. You don't want to miss this one! 4 stars

"After You" is written by Erin Nicholas, and it is part of the Sapphire Falls series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features Kyle Ames and Hannah McIntire.

Hannah's grandmother, Alice, needs a hip surgery, so after 2 years, Hannah will be back in town for 6 weeks to help her. But unbeknownst to Hannah, Alice has other plans. She will do everything she can to convince Hannah to stay in Sapphire Falls and not move back to Seattle. First thing on the list, getting Hannah's ex, Kyle, in the mix.

Kyle was absolutely heartbroken when Hannah left for Seattle. He had it all planned out, and Hannah knew the plan. He was planning to propose to her. Kyle adores Alice, and he's actually her doctor. He reluctantly goes along with the ruse, but he's not ready for another heartbreak. He's bitter over what happened with Hannah 2 years ago, but he still has feelings for her. And Hannah does still have feelings for him.

Without giving too much away, readers will find out why Hannah actually left in the first place. And even though it's hard for Kyle to accept, he does now understand why she made the decision she did. Will Hannah and Kyle have their second chance at love, or will she go back to Seattle?

"After You" was a quick read for me. It was a sweet story. Erin Nicholas did a great job! Looking forward to Derek and Riley's story next!

After You A Sapphire Falls Novel is fantastic written by the wonderful Erin Nicholas. Loved loved this story she has done it again, she has written a tender loving sexy second chance romance that is hard to put down till you finished the last page. Sometimes you felt like the pages were coming alive.
There are great characters like Dr. Kyle Ames and his ex Hannah McIntire are coming face to face for the first time in three years. Hannah broke things off with Kyle saying she found a better opportunity in Seattle. Kyle felt hurt and heart broken and stayed the plan to be a doctor in their hometown. There are secrects being kept. Some hurts from past misunderstanding.
Can these two come together again or will secrets and past hurts keep them from the chemistry between them that is unmistakable and sometimes a second chance is always a chance worth taking. I highly recommend this book.

The next installment of Sapphire Falls: After Hours is finally HERE!!!! I have been waiting to sink my teeth into the unflappable story of Dr. Kyle Ames for some time now and boy-oh-boy Erin Nicholas did not disappoint. Kyle and Hannah's story is funny with plenty of LOL moments, super sexy with the HOT ALPHA Doc and a great book about second chances, there are also heartbreaking moments between these two when they realise just what they lost and maybe just what they should've fought harder for.
Don't wait any longer to #OneClick this awesome read that can be read as a standalone but WAY better if you read the whole series I Promise You will fall in love with Kyle and Hannah, Sapphire Falls, and the rest of the town in this amazing one of a kind world that Erin Nicholas has created for us

Erin Nicholas does it again!! This return to Sapphire Falls was sweet, sexy, everything I wanted it to be! These books draw you in from the first page. You want this to be a real place, your real life, your friends, your downtown. You want it to be this place you can return home to like Hannah. She has been harboring secrets for too many years. When she returns home to help her grandma after hip surgery she never anticipates what was in store. Kyle never really got over his ex Hannah. Even though he would argue with that some. When he finds out she is back, what grandma has in store, and what secrets Hannah has been keeping, will he be able to finally move on or is it destiny?

Another amazing trip to Sapphire Falls as we get a look at Hannah McIntire and Kyle Ames. Once thought to be the town power couple! Somewhere along the line things fell apart and Kyle's carefully constructed plan blew up spectacularly. He may have returned to Sapphire Falls after college to become the town's beloved Doc but Hannah chose to stay away without much of an explanation. Now she's back to help her Grandma recuperate and Kyle has a new plan. This time he'd be sure to keep his heart out of it. Well - that was the plan anyway!

Don't miss this great addition to the series! If you haven't started it yet, don't worry, each book is easily read standalone. Just don't miss out on all the goodness of Sapphire falls! I highly recommend it.

Th newest addition the Sapphire Falls series is another great story. Dr. Kyle Ames was a planner, and someone that everyone could depend on to be there when they needed him. He thought he'd had his life planned out with Hannah McIntire in the role of wife and mother to his future children. However, things never quite go as planned when it comes to love. Three years of separation, a major accident and overcoming addition are just a few hurdles that the pair will have to overcome in this rekindled romance story. You'll not want to put it down until you've read every page. And as is the case with all of Erin's books she will leave you wanting more!

Kyle and Hannah were lovers and they loved each other for a lifetime... they had their whole life planned... but they didn't imagine that life could have setbacks, they did not have a plan B.

And Hannah changed their plans, and didn't return to Sapphire Falls, stayed in Seattle. She broke Kyle's heart. Now, three years later she returns temporarily to Sapphire Falls to help her grandmother recover from surgery.

But Hannah keeps a lot of secrets from the people she loves... Will good Dr Kyle be able to stay away from her even after he learns all these secrets?

I loved this story, this couple and the Love that transforms with maturation.

I want to know about all the people in Sapphire Falls 💙 and about the new people (Kade) who is coming to this wonderful Town... I want to live there.

I always love visiting my favorite small town Sapphire Falls thanks to author Erin Nicholas and this time we get Kyle and Hannah's story in After You. This book reunites the former sweethearts and you can see they still have unresolved feelings for one another after being apart for two years. I really enjoyed watching these two find their way back to each other but they needed to learn some hard truths first. This author always know how to blend the perfect amount of sweetness, sexiness and humor in her stories to keep me glued to the book until the very end. Another wonderful story in this series.

Totally Fantastic!

I have never hidden the fact that not only am I a huge fan of Erin Nicholas, but that I fell in love with Sapphire Falls when I read the very first book. I wasn't able to read this one as quickly as I would have liked, but it definitely was worth waiting for. Kyle and Hannah were long time boyfriend and girlfriend, until something happened to change that. Now Hannah is back in Sapphire Falls, but can she get Kyle back or has she lost him forever? I'm not telling, but I will say I can't imagine anyone who loves a great romance that wouldn't want to read this!

Hannah is a Chronic Pain Manager, Kyle is a Doctor. Hannah's grandma needs hip surgery. Kyle's grandmother is her best friend, and he regularly helps her out around her house. They dated 3 years ago. Hannah moved to Seattle for a Physical therapy internship. She was hit by a car and went into the hospital. She became addicted to pain medicine. She joined a research study for chronic pain management. She now strongly believes in no medicine. She does yoga, meditation, and accupuncture. All the men in town want Hannah to help them manage their pain.
Kyle wants Hannah to stay in Sapphire Falls, but Hannah realizes that she can't. After talking to her best friend Kade, she realizes she can't leave Kyle again so she finds him and they say the love each other.
Sexy sex scenes, very Hot.

Kyle and Hannah's story is a sweet and sexy second chance romance. I was completely drawn into their story and could feel the hurt and betrayal that Kyle felt while also feeling the pain Hannah was going through, both physically and emotionally. Once they were back together, though, the sparks they thought were hot before were nothing compared to those flying between them now. It was a beautiful thing to watch them grow through the book into the person the other needed more than anything else.

I am convinced there is something magical about the town of Sapphire Falls and I find myself wanting to live in a little town like this every time I pick up a book in this series.

Erin Nicholas is a pro at creating characters and making me love them. Kyle and Hannah's story is unlike any of the other books I've read. I wanted to not like Hannah, based on her previous actions-but the story draws you in to make you understand her and her actions. I don't write spoilers in my reviews, but I will say that the HEA for these two is very sweet and surprising! A great follow up to After All, read it today!

After You is an excellent second chance romance. It is so cute how Kyle thinks he can resist Hannah when she comes back to town. I love the likable characters the author creates and the fact they have flaws that together they overcome or in some cases learn to deal with not being able to overcome them. It was a page turner that kept me up long past my bedtime but I don't regret a single lost minute of sleep. This story will stay with long after the last page.

Another good book by Erin Nicholas. This book is about a love that got away. Kyle and Hannah are high school sweethearts. Things just didn't go as planned. Kyle stayed in Sapphire Falls and Hannah moved out west. Now Hannah is back due go her grandmother needing surgery. Kyle still has some unresolved questions he how wants answers to. Some hard issues are conquered in this book. It's deeper than most of Erin's books. Totally loved this one.
