When a stranger walks up and punches him at a bar, he assumes there’s a good reason. But he’s stunned to learn it’s over a one-night stand that never happened — with his friend’s straight-laced sister. When he confronts her about the lie, she apologizes, but he realizes he doesn’t want her to be sorry… he wants the night they supposedly spent together.
The last thing she needs is to add to her long list of commitments. But when tempted with the chance to go crazy and fulfill a few fantasies, she can’t resist. Thank goodness one night isn’t enough time to fall in love…
**This title was previously published as She's the One (Counting on Love, #1).**
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over sixty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
Starring: Ryan: super hot, gets laid a lot, zen-like paramedic Amanda: hot, fun martyr, secret crush on Ryan Emma: Amanda’s promiscuous, must be the center of attention sister Other people: Ryan’s friends and Amanda’s family
We start the book out in a bar after a football game. Emma, Amanda’s youngest is kissing all the guys for winning. Enter Ryan, Amanda jumps on him and swings her legs around his waist for a deep, french kiss (her words, not mine). Ryan squeezes her ass and lets her down. Amanda goes to the table and brags how their one night stand, a year ago, has ruined her for all other men. Ooookay, I’m loving this bachelor already and want to fork Emma in the eye. A nice guy asks Amanda to dance and then on a date. Being the fun martyr, older, boring but responsible, I can’t have a relationship because I must take care of all my adult sisters she declines by telling him that she had a one night stand with Ryan and it broke her heart. Said guy punches Ryan for breaking Amanda’s heart. Ryan is curious and decides he wants the night that never happened. They agree but Amanda gets to pick the plans.
See this is where I started to cock and eyebrow. I already was skeptical because of Emma but was happy to have her out of the scene but Amanda’s plans were just over the top and not under the agreement what-so-ever. Ryan and I are all WTF is happening? I thought we were going to meet and have a night filled with crazy sex, not swinging in a club.
So, stuff happens that I won’t tell you, just in case you want to read for yourself, but then I’ll just say that once they did have sex (come on you know that isn’t a spoiler and they were going to get it on) the characters turned from working professionals to seventh graders. The dialogue turned to cheese and Amanda planned their sexual experience, herself in love, Ryan ending the relationship, and leaving her with a broken heart. Wow right? So, she doesn't have time to be broken hearted (bc she has to take care of her sisters) she decides to friend-zone him. She wants a friendly relationship but the chemistry is just too hard to ignore. Amanda suggests doing something non-sexual in public, this conversation happens:
"And I was going to suggest the strip club. Darn.” She smiled. "Right. And we can't go for ice cream." "Why is that?" "I always get whipped cream on my sundaes, and there is no way you could survive watching me lick whipped cream off a spoon."
His gaze heated slightly as he clearly imagined her doing just that. "We could go to a movie." "In the dark, sitting so close together for almost two hours? It would be too tempting to hold hands. Or hold something else," she teased. "Or something?" he repeated. "I've never gotten a hand job in a movie theater." She felt her whole body flush with heat hearing him say "hand job". She wanted to do that to him. Right now, in fact.
She put her hands to her face. “I’m thinking the zoo.” You want to go to the zoo together?” “It’s pretty nonsexual,” she said. Then thought about it. “Isn’t it?” “Sure, as long as no one mentions breeding or mating.” Right. With her luck the zebras would be going at it front and center.
Does that sound like educated young adults? No, not to me. I should have stopped there but I was about 70% in and pushed through. Stuff happens but it just didn’t work for me. I liked the synopsis and idea but the dialogue turned too immature and predictable. I couldn’t relate or sympathize with Amanda and while Ryan was sexually educated, it didn't carry along the story for me. (and I never read a book with my name so you’d think it would be a shoo-in, right? Me too.) Everyone loves this book. What's wrong with me?
Sexy, humorous, great laugh out loud moments, sensual, and it leaves you with a smile. That is how I would describe She's the One. First book in this new series and I simply loved it. I just finished reading it and I want to go back and re-read it again. That's how I know that I really enjoy a great book. Erin Nicholas is an awesome writer and this story does not disappoint. Amanda is the oldest sister and is the one that is always trying to take care of her sisters. Ryan is a fun loving, an overall great guy. I love the way he tries to take care of Amanda to put himself between her sisters' problems. Love that he became the mama bear for her. Amanda and Ryan are great together and their role play is funny, sexy, and laugh out out moments. Great story!!!
Let me warn you, this is one of those books. You know the ones. The ones that you want to read over and over again. And get this! This is the first in a new series!
Erin Nicholas. Seriously? How do you do it? Just when I think it can't get any better than the last, she writes something like She's the One. She writes a story where I fall in love with the hero and want to be that heroine.
Ryan and Amanda are great. Ryan grew up the son of a free spirit. Everlasting love just wasn't in his vocabulary. Healthy living and healthy fun was how he rolled. Everyone has a good time and when the thrill was gone, no one got hurt. That is until he meets Amanda. Amanda is the mature sister, the responsible sister. Ryan was just a fantasy. She never believed he would be interested in her or any woman for more than fling. A slip of the tongue has Amanda living out those fantasies and so much more! This story had me laughing, crying, yelling (yes, yelling), wide eyed, and breathing a sigh of relief. I Love That!
Erin Nicholas is an amazing author and her stories captivate me immediately. I love that she can pull me into the story and make me feel like I am right there witnessing it with my own eyes. I love the fact that when I read her stories there is a flow and ease that makes her stories a pleasure and comfort to read. I highly recommend this book and all of her books.
Opening scene has me reeling. So we have the promiscuous sister who kisses everybody and Amanda, who is there at the bar babysitting her. Because, I don't know.... a teenage sister needs babysitting? And Amanda is "telling" us about everybody and her own choice to take care of everyone.
I am a newbie to Nicholas’ work, and I am so happy to say that after reading only one book by her, I’m thinking I need to add her name to my list of auto-buy authors. I absolutely adored this book!
Amanda has a wild side, but after her older brother witnessed it first hand, she does everything she can to suppress it. But when her brother’s best friend and star of her fantasies propositions her with a wild night together, Amanda can’t hold back that part of her any longer. She takes Ryan up on his offer, and although they only plan for one night, Amanda finds herself going back for more.
Ryan is the king of laid-back, easy-going, so when the straight-laced Amanda shows interest, he jumps at the chance to be with her. But the last thing Ryan ever expected was to have Amanda pull him in so much, he starts to debate the merits of happily ever after. But between Amanda’s overprotective older brother, three crazy and wild younger sisters, and their very different backgrounds, will Ryan and Amanda ever be able to make it work past the weekend?
Since this was my first book by Nicholas, I will admit to being a little bit confused in the beginning. It wasn’t until I stalked her website after putting the book down that I realized this series is a spin off from a popular and long standing series Nicholas has been writing for years. So while fans of her books will fall easily into the groove with this, I felt a little confused as to what was going on in the beginning. It seemed as if the characters had all been introduced in a previous chapter and I was left in the dark. Fortunately, that one little mishap didn’t change the fact that the rest of the book had me falling in love.
I’m a big fan of the older brother’s best friend stories, and this was so well done! I loved the way Ryan and Amanda danced around the issue of revealing too much to her brother, and how her sisters were all-too-willing to keep secrets. The family dynamics between them was so wonderful, so potent, so realistic I couldn’t put the book down once I started. The minute I was finished I wanted more, and the thought of waiting until September for the next book almost made me cry.
The romance between Ryan and Amanda was so amazing. Although Amanda was thought of as the perfect sister, her wild side had a way of overriding her common sense and made her do some pretty stupid things. The stuff she said to Ryan in the beginning of the story was pretty insensitive, and I loved that Ryan was quick to put her in her place. It was fun to see the tables flipped on the characters, and I loved the way they went about rebuilding their friendship and relationship. Plus, the sexy times between these two was SMOKIN’ HOT. Between the role-playing and the crazy anything goes nightclub, these two heated up the sheets, the walls, the laser tag playing field… Wowza!
Another aspect I thought Nicholas did incredibly well was the secondary characters. While I’m sure many of the characters will be familiar faces to long-time readers, everyone was new and fresh for me. I have to say though, Amanda’s sisters and brother might be my new favorite fictional family. They teased and tormented each other without mercy, and yet it was so obvious how much they loved and adored each other. If I could be a part of any fictional family, I think I’ve found my choice! I am so excited and anxious to read more!
All in all I absolutely loved my first Nicholas book, and have already budgeted out buying up her backlist. I thought Amanda and Ryan were fabulous characters with a phenomenal romance and a supporting cast of characters that kept me smiling and laughing and hoping for more. I can’t wait to read the next in the series, and am so glad to have found a new-to-me author who has a lot of books I can go back and glom onto.
Let me start off by saying that I ADORE Erin Nicholas! Her Bradford Series was one of the best book series I have ever read. And lucky for me, this new series called Counting On Love is a spin-off from that! You don’t have to read the other series to understand this one, but I highly recommend picking up The Bradford series as well! I am such a sucker for a happily ever after and she did not disappoint.
In She’s The One, Ryan is a football player, and a paramedic on top of it……WOW…. who is a ladies man and has a calm, laid back attitude. And Amanda is the girl that wants to suppress her wild self in order to not disappoint her family and stay in control of her sisters. You meet the whole cast in this book and are pulled in to their side stories so you can’t wait to hear their stories as well!
This is a great romance about what is supposed to be a 24 hour fling, and it turns into a whole lot more! “You, me, some whipped cream and twenty-four uninterrupted hours.”….. “Only twenty-four?” In a blink, Ryan’s grin dropped and was replaced by a hot, hungry look. “I’ll give you twenty-four days if you want them.” SWOON!
After reading this, I’ll almost guarantee you’ll get the urge to play lazer tag for the first time since you were 12! ;)
This book has the right amount of love, drama, and HOTNESS! It’s a heart fluttering, easy read that will leave you wanting more!
Do yourself a HUGE favor and buy this book. You’ll be in love with Ryan, Amanda and all the others as well. Then……while waiting for book two pick up the Bradford series and meet all the other guys you meet briefly in She’s The One. You won’t be sorry!!
Ryan and Amanda were sweet together, and I really enjoyed their story! There were some interesting characters in this one - as in all of Nicholas’s books - and a couple interesting plot twists. It was a bit short for my taste, and everything moved very quickly from lust to love. Even so, this was a nice romance and a quick read.
She's The One is the first book in Erin Nicholas' new series Counting On Love. For us Erin fangirls out there this book follows the 4 sisters of Connor Dixon who you will remember from the Bradford Series. Fear not, if this is your first Erin novel you won't be lost but you may end up having to go buy all 5 books in The Bradford's. Just remember I warned you.
This book focuses on Amanda Dixon, the oldest girl in the family and the mother hen of the bunch. Amanda plays by the rules and always does what she believes will be best for her family, not wanting to disappointing anyone. Ryan Kaye is a teammate of Amanda's older brother Connor. HE is a live and let live type of guy who doesn't easily get mad and rolls with the punches. That is until he is punched for having a one night stand with Amanda Dixon that didn't really happen.
I am one of the first to admit that I am ADDICTED to Erin's books. I love her writing and the realness of the romances and situations that arise in her stories but she has totally outdone herself with this new series. Ryan is my new Book Boyfriend, but he is still second in my heart to Mac (Bradford Series).
This is such a great read! I loved the characters and the setting. Both were realistic,it's not all roses, not is it perfect. The romance is believable, and sexy. Fans of great stories with outstanding characters and plenty of heat will love this story.
I did enjoy the book, however I have to say, that it did annoy me also. I am the type that I like to get to the point fairly quickly. So the back and forth gets on my nerves. Make a decision, and stick to it. Now I understood Amanda at the beginning not wanting to get with Ryan because she thought that he had been with Emma, and he may not have had a one night stand in that he did not sleep with her, but still the kissing (the french kissing-eww) the skinny dipping, and the fact that the only reason that they did not sleep together was because she was too much. Yeah, I could not have gone there, I could not have gone anywhere near anyone that my sisters had any type of relationship with, or friends actually, once there was an incline, they were automatically off limits, but to each its own. Anyway, back to story... So these are attracted to each other, but Amanda wants 24 hours, and that is it, and is judgemental, and he gets his feelings hurt. Then they make up, then they brake up, then she gets hurt in bar, and he goes to her sister???oh hell no.. he would have gotten no chance.. no no no..but whatever. Even if it was to give her a talking to, Amanda should have been first, to make sure she was ok, and then Emma, would have gotten her speech. but whatever, HEA.
I love Erin's books. I would highly recommend you read the Bradford Series before these, but you do not have to. Erin always seems to mix sexy and fun in all of her books. There are moments you laugh and cry, but then there are those super sexy moment. This definitely had them all. Ryan is good friends with Amanda's older brother Conner. Conner does not want ANY of his friends near his sisters. Ryan all of a sudden can't stay away from Amanda. He wants her. Amanda has always looked out for everyone else and never for herself. Ryan wants to be the man who looks out for Amanda. I love this story. There relationship starts out as just being a weekend thing to help Amanda let loose but then feelings start happening and they cant stay away from each other. What a great, fun sexy read. It is a must. I cant wait for the next book in this series. The series will have 5 books total and each will focus on a different sibling. Up next will be Isabelle and Shane's book. Then Emma and Nate.
I have a new book boyfriend. Ryan Kaye just flat out does it for me. He is smart, sexy, funny, physically fit and comfortable in his own skin. That he is a hero in his day job doesn't hurt. Amanda Dixon is the big sister and takes care of everyone. Ryan is the live and let live type until he thinks about Amanda. She digs deeper and cares more than anyone he knows and it gets to him in ways he didn't expect. Amanda needs to loosen up and play a little and Ryan can give her that. I LOVED this story. It has all the elements you need for a great romance. It is funny and sweet and has a terrific supporting cast. There are some totally smoking hot love scenes and there is, of course, drama. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. I received a copy from the author in return for an honest review and I’d like to thank her because it was truly my pleasure.
I have read and loved many books. This book is the perfect, feel good, spicy contemporary romance. If I could rate this book higher, it would be a 10! Erin Nicholas has added the perfect amount of eroticism in a fun and spontaneous way. A SMOKING hot paramedic, Ryan, and one of his good friends' sisters, Amanda, have so much chemistry it's almost explosive! What is supposed to be a 24 hour fling, turns out to be so much more. Is Amanda willing to let go of some of her many family responsibilities and live a little for herself? Is Ryan willing to stay and have a relationship or will he move on, like always, when things get a little messy? I enjoyed reading this book so much that I can't wait to read it again! I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the Counting On Love series.
Another by home run Erin Nicholas. Just as fun to read and love as my beloved "Bradford Series". The characters are written so that you want to jump in and hang out with them! Romance should always be this fun and it sure is in "She's the One."
Erin does it again! Sexy, humorous, and unexpected at times. Love how she ties her first series the Bradfords in with this series. The characters are fun and ones you could picture as your own friends.
Loved this story and can't wait to read the rest of the Counting on Love series. Erin is a gifted author who really keeps my interest...mainly through amazingly hot heroes and strong heroines who love fiercely!
If you’ve read any of the Day Shift series, you got to know Connor Dixon, EMT, crushing on Sara and a thorn in the side of fellow EMT and Sara's husband, Mac. Amanda is the oldest of Connor's younger sisters, and she’s the older, protective, mama bear. She’s the responsible one, always showing restraint and often rescuing her sister’s from sticky situations. Especially Emma, the wildest, most outrageous, good-time girl of them all. That is until Olivia tells her sisters that her birthday wish is for Amanda and Emma to change places. She wants Amanda to spend a weekend in Emma's shoes, which of course will involve time with a guy, and Amanda sets her sights on her brother's coworker, Ryan. And that’s where things get interesting. Because as much as Ryan would love to spend a wild weekend between the sheets with Amanda behaving uncharacteristically, his plans and goals change when he finds out the reason for her seeking him out.
It makes sense that this book would be part of the Night Shift because Nicholas didn’t hold back on the heat level! I’m just lucky I was alone when I read certain scenes so there was no one to see me blush. But don’t let that give you the impression that’s all there is to this book, because it is so much more! I loved the depth and complexity of Amanda and Ryan and the stops and starts as their relationship grew. And it makes the reading so much better when challenges along the way help them both learn new things about themselves that make them a more well-rounded person and just that much better together. It was a little bit frustrating and a whole lot wonderful, following them on their humorous, touching, poignant journey to forever. I adored these two characters, as I’ve loved every character in this Just Everyday Heroes series so far, and can’t wait to read more!
*I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
I really didn't know what to think of this book at first. Bar and club scenes aren't the usual setting for romances, but that's where this one was...at first. You soon realize that the heroine is acting totally out of character and the hero might be too. The craziness was the result of something close to a dare where Amanda is supposed to react and do things the way her over-the-top sister does. Several chapters in things start to reverse. Total beep-beep-beep reverse. The heroine has gone from a one night out on the town crazy person back to the person her family knows who wants to take care of everybody. Her one crazy night, date guy has gone from wanting to get her to bed as quickly as possible to wanting to take care of HER. His actions are really sweet and he makes progress in having a relationship with her. I thought it was funny that when Amanda wanted to show Ryan that she liked him for more than sex, Ryan thought she was putting him totally in "the friend zone". Miscommunication is awful in relationships and couldn't get much worse than this. In the end, Amanda and Ryan were really good together. The heat factor in this book was great once it got back to a normal relationship. Nicholas blends just the right amount of heat and heart to leave you very content at the end!
I could relate to Amanda a lot. I'm a constant worrier and a major hypochondriac, so I totally understood where she was coming from. It's really hard to just shut everything down and relax because of the constant feeling that you're forgetting something or someone. Perhaps if I'd be able to do that more often if I had a guy like Ryan.
The main conflict of this book (apart from Amanda needing to loosen up) is centered around the overprotective behavior of Connor, Amanda's older brother and Ryan's friend, being against their romance due to his hatred of his sisters dating his friends. I'm personally not a huge fan of the brother's best friend trope because it usually results in me getting frustrated and yelling "Mind your business!"at some point during the book. I'll admit that the same thing happened to me with this book, however, I still enjoyed most of it. Ryan and Amanda's romance was entertaining enough to hold my attention.
I highly recommend this book if you're a fan of the brother's best friend trope.
Learning to let go of reins a bit where her family is concerned is a hard task for Amanda. Learning to be in a real relationship rather than his standard no-commitments dates is Ryan's challenge. Watching these two find a happy medium was a fun ride. Every girl deserves someone who puts her feelings first ( even more than she does herself) . and Every guy deserves someone who won't give up on them - who is willing to stand by his side.
Amanda and Ryan were everything! I loved how he knew how she felt about everything involving her family and he was there for her. Amanda and Ryan relationship was fun sweet! Can't wait to read more of this series! 💛
One of the best things that has come from getting my Kindle has been finding new authors that I probably would have NEVER run across (even though our public library is pretty darn progressive and contemporary!). I've made some cool book friends (Linda!) and some cool author friends (Nikki, aka Jim BOB!)... and I've run across some other really cool review sites. I had run across a Book Club / Contest at >> http://thebookreadinggals.com/ << and was fortunate to win a copy of the book, "She's The One" by Erin Nicholas. I'd just found out about Erin Nicholas a few months back when I read about the Promise Harbor Wedding series - four books, all written by different authors, but all tied together. Erin Nicholas wrote "Hitched (Promise Harbor Wedding)", which was the final book in the series. Tonight I do the "Book Club" and my geeky self is all excited, because I think that Erin Nicholas is going to be participating, too - yayyyyy!!
Apparently Erin Nicholas has another series about the Bradfords that links into this "Counting On Love" series. I've not read any (yet), but on her website there is a freebie story that links the two series called "Just Count On Me". Personally, I wish I'd read it BEFORE I read "She's the One", because quite frankly, for the first big bit of the book, all I kept wondering was what in the world these people actually did as work! When you're introduced to them, the guys are coming in from winning a football game - so I was thinking this was a sports-themed romance. Then they were throwing in talk about hospitals and staff and I got REALLY confused. That's about the only thing I think Erin Nicholas could have improved with this book...because otherwise it rocked the countdown! (So learn from my "mistake" - read the short story first - just 28 pages but it really helps to set everything up -- I wish it had been a preface to the book itself!!)
Amanda is the "responsible" sister - even though she doesn't always want to be - and in the course of trying to let down a guy gently, tells a "story" about not getting over an one-night stand - which actually never happened! Word gets back to Ryan, her supposed one-night stand... and he asks for "the night". What follows is a touching story about two people learning how, and when, you need to take responsibility for yourself &/or others... and when you don't... and how to balance a sense of responsibility with a sense of self-interest. Ryan also needs to reconcile the experiences his mother gave him of love and relationships with more traditional relationships.
You know I don't like to get heavily into plot outlines; after all, the point is for YOU to read the book. The point is for me to let you know that you will NOT waste your time if you pick up this book! And this IS a great book to go read... and I think I'll probably be checking out the series about the Bradfords now, too! Lucky (us) readers, too - Erin Nicholas has a very aggressive publishing schedule for this series, and plans to release the following books every couple of months - so no waiting years between releases! YAY!!!
Counting On Love Series
It Takes Two—September 2013 Best of Three—November 2013 Going for Four—February 2014 Up By Five—April 2014
I look forward to the remainder of this "Counting On Love" series! (Is it September yet??)
**Reviewers note: Erin Nicholas has written a five part prequel that bridges her Bradford series with this new series. You can find them at erinnicholas.blogspot.com.
I was so excited when Erin Nicholas announced she was beginning to write a new series. I lovedher Bradford series and was so sad to see it end, but now in addition to the cast from that series, we get a whole new group of characters to love and I could not be happier. First out is She’s The One and it’s a strong opener for a new series. We are introduced to a lot of new characters, we begin to see how they all fit together, and in addition the group from the first series is around just enough to make it interesting but not so much as they take over.
I really love it when opposites attract and that seems to be the case with Ryan Kaye and Amanda Dixon. Ryan has a reputation as a party loving ladies man and Amanda is known as the mild mannered always does the right thing sister of the Dixon sisters. When Amanda’s baby sister dares her to spend the weekend thinking like their sister, Emma she suddenly realizes it’s time to cut loose and have some fun. She just has no idea that a little white lie she told will come back to bite her and the man wishing to do the biting is none other than Ryan Kaye, the man who stars in her dreams and fantasies.
I really liked Amanda despite her being over protective and somewhat tame. I understand why she was like that but I also liked that she felt she could let loose with Ryan. The fact that Ryan respected her for the person she is and wanted to be more than her good time guy made their situation very fun and interesting.
It was fun to watch Ryan throughout this book and see him deal with his feelings about relationships and women in general. I love that there was more to Ryan than meets the eye and found him quite fascinating. It was interesting that Amanda saw so much in him that most people don’t and was even angry that so many people in his life didn’t seem to know much about him.
I loved the ups and downs and everything in between in this book. Erin never lets us get too comfortable and it keeps this book moving and the characters busy. There is so much humor in this book and some great words of wisdom from Dooley from the first series. I do want to note that if you haven’t read the first series you can absolutely read this book and not be lost. While the characters cross over, this series will stand on its own. As usual Erin’s intimate scenes are smokin’ hot, often frantic but sometimes sweet and definitely enough to get you revved up!
Erin Nicholas has written another fantastic group of family and friends that will keep us entertained while this series plays out. In She’s the One you can’t beat the intriguing characters, the witty yet emotional dialog, and the plot that has set in motion a series that is very, very promising.
This is the first book in the new series Counting on Love, and another awesome read from Erin Nicholas. If you’ve read any of Erin’s books, you know how well she writes a sexy romance that includes wonderful friendships, and a good amount of humor that you cannot help but enjoy it. If you haven’t read any of her books, you should pick one up because you will not be disappointed. I was wishing the story would never end because it flowed so well and kept my interest, I really wanted more, yet at the same time I wanted to read the next book at the same time. I love how Erin always pulls me into her stories. All of her characters feel so real that they had me laughing and crying at times throughout the entire story, and it makes me want to know everything about every one of them.
Ryan Kaye is the kind of guy that doesn’t let many things get under his skin. He’s got a great group of friends, and he has never had trouble finding a woman. But when a man punches him for a reason he knows nothing about, things get a little interesting. He has been accused of having a one-night stand with the sister of one of his good friends – if it was only true. He decides to confront Amanda and learns that she started the rumor accidentally, so he tells her that she can make it up to him by spending 24 hours with him.
Amanda Dixon is not interested in a relationship, especially anything long term. When she tries to turn down a date request from a really nice guy she mentions that a one-night stand with Ryan has left her heartbroken, but what she didn’t plan on was that the guy would confront Ryan with his fist. Amanda has tried living her life quietly, and without any incidents that will embarrass her in any way in order to take some of the family responsibility off of her older brother Conner. But when Ryan offers her the chance to let go with no one finding out about their time together, she takes him up on it.
Ryan enjoys spending time with woman, but he has never fallen in love and doesn’t expect it to ever happen. He figures he can give Amanda whatever she wants and walk away when their time is up. Amanda is very thankful that 24 hours is not enough time to develop any feelings for Ryan because this is going to work out perfectly. Right?
I Loved The Bradford Series and was so happy to see that some of those characters would continue on in this series. She’s The One was such a sweet fun read. The sparks of sexual tension between Ryan and Amanda practically burned up the screen of my Kindle. lol ;)
The opening of the story was so funny and drew me in immediately. I loved that Ryan was secretly attracted to Amanda all along and I was upset when things fell apart so quickly and didn’t go nearly as expected on their first date. It was so much fun reading them try and be just friends and struggle to not have sex ~ when that was all that they could think about when they were together. lol I loved that they were able to eventually find what they both needed in each other and that their friends so easily accepted their relationship. Poor Connor...he didn’t stand a chance..with all his sisters falling for his friends. I love books with this type of theme. It makes for such fun stories with lots of emotion and She’s The One definitely delivered that. So good!!
I cannot wait for the next book. I love these characters...Emma and Nate, Shane and Iz, Olivia and Cody, and Connor and Gabby. Such lovable characters and so much fun to read.
Erin has such a way with her writing. Her stories are definitely comfort reads for me and are filled with such emotion. They are fun stories with loveable characters, romance, laughter, tears and spicey hot sex. All my favorites.
She’s The One left a smile on my face when I was finished and had me so looking forward to Shane and Iz. What a great start to the series.
She's the One is a bullseye on the dart board of Fabulous Romance novels. In True Erin Nicholas style she writes about believable people exchanging great dialogue and witty conversations between the characters. We get to see those lovable guys from The Bradford's series once again! Score! The Counting on Love series has a great group of guys to get to know. I for one, can't wait to learn more about them with each book out in this series. Erin's amazing with writing great banter. I love the way she has the guys interact and insult each other. She makes writing a comeback seem so easy. For me She's the One is about Ryan and Amanda learning to let go. Both In different ways so they can finally come together. Ryan, on how he grew up thinking what loving someone meant and that having a calm environment isn't ways what you need. Amanda on needing to let her sisters take control of their lives, to step back and wait to help. Very sexy scenes! Loved it and will wait impatiently for the next!
Well my favorite Author Erin Nicholas, Hits a grand slam again! WAY TO GO ERIN!!!! She's the One is the 1st book in her newest Series "Counting on Love" or as her super fans now call it the "Dixon's" which is a follow up to the "Bradford's". In the new series, Erin now brings to life Connor Dixon's and his 4 sisters over the so far 5 book series. And the BEST part..........they are all friends with our favorite’s Bradford Boys ….. Mac, Dooley, Sam, Kevin, and Ben. In “She’s the One”, Erin brings to life Ryan and Amanda. Right now Amanda is not looking for anyone serious in her life but somehow, Ryan with some persistence becomes front in center without her even realizing it. This 1st book comes with a **Warning**: Contains a hot paramedic who knows how to get a girl to let her hair down, a girl who thinks she prefers her hair up, some naughty laser tag, some naughty role-playing and a lot of falling in love. Way to Go Erin!! Can’t wait to meet Isabelle Dixon and Shane this fall!!
I had a feeling I was going to LIKE this book when I first started, but had NO IDEA I was going to LOVE IT!!! This is the only Erin Nicolas book I've read, but I won't be able to say that much longer - I will definitely be checking out The Bradfords series now (which this series is a spinoff from) while I wait for the next one in THIS series!
Thinking of this series makes me think of Kristin Proby's "With Me in Seattle" series - in the way that there are the siblings and friends that each have their story but they all show up throughout other books. Definitely has a similar feel - makes you wish you had a group of siblings/friends/co-workers like these!
This book is all about Ryan and Amanda - Amanda has 3 sisters and an over-protective brother (Connor) who dosn't want his friends dating his sisters - Ha! Each sister plus Connor will get their own book. I LOVED Ryan and Amanda's story but I also enjoyed getting to know the others characters a little bit. Can't WAIT for Emma and Nate's story!
