The Detective Triumvirate Plus One crosses path with the QED Club in the highly anticipated Filipino adaptation of 'Whose Deduction Show?', a popular American game show that pits brilliant detectives in a deduction brawl.
Baffled with the mystery of a forsaken mansion, the rivalry between the highschool sleuths heats up as they try to outplay each other. Little did they know that what's only supposed to be a game takes a darker turn.
Have the two detective groups finally met their match?

Bought this book so I can, in a way, have a sample of the two series this crossed-over. I like that they explained who the characters were for those who aren't familiar with both PL and DF although I still, unsurprisingly, felt like I'm missing something about their dynamics. I thought that maybe I would find a lot of enjoyment with the mysteries and while they were entertaining, they weren't as great as I expected them to be. Especially the last one which I hoped was gonna be something that would wow me. I guess this maybe due to the book's length. Many parts of the book focused on character interactions between both teams while half had to be about the mystery parts. I'm not sure how long the authors were asked to make this but it felt like it'd have been better if it were bit longer to make the mysteries more interesting (even just the last one).
I guess I really am just not part of this book's target audience. Half the fun of this book is the crossover and I'm sure fans of both series had fun with the two groups interacting with each other which I couldn't feel since I've not read either one. Half is the mysteries which I didn't find as great as I was hoping. It was fun to read though. It took a very, very long while for me to like the characters from both groups (especially both Loki and Jeremy whose personalities stood out to me but not in a good way) but in the end, I guess they weren't that bad. Them doing an exposition of the last mystery was exciting due to the characters' personalities/interactions. They carried this book for me despite my thoughts on them.
It's an ok book over all. The art is great, by the way.
Overall, Whose Deduction Show is a great read! I do recommend it to those who want a quick and exciting book to get into, especially if you're into mystery books.
This is one of the collaborations I look forward to, and I'm engrossed to finally have the chance to read it.
Reading Amber and Lorelei's POV gave a nostalgic feeling, for it's been a while since I read PL and DF. I missed them equally and I really find it fun to see how their character remained the same, despite being written by two authors who constantly change. Loki and Gray... I love them.
The twist is something I expected, but still made me shocked when it was then revealed. There's something really off when Loki easily conceded defeat and several pages were still waiting to be read.
Jeremy's puns... even though it's not worth my time, is something I missed and lifted the tension while reading. Math and Jamie... I love and hate their characters. Alistair, the love of my PLayer life, you reign in my heart forever.

Nireread ko lang talaga siya (but never ako nagskip!!) and still, my rating is still the same. Love the characters, the POVs, Jeremy's Puns, Maya and Jamie's boasting scenes, Loki and Gray's rivalry, Al and Amber's interaction (silent shipper ako teh!! Wag kayong ano diyan) And of course, Lorelei's attitude! Most matured person na nasa book. Joke. HALOS Lahat din naman sila but ang pinakagusto kong character ay si Lorelei. Ang peacemaker HAHAHA.
Really love the authors tho. Parehas ko na completed yung Detective Files and Project Loki so this book is really fun for me. Kahit nakakairita yung attitude ni Loki rito, di ko magawang i-hate kasi nabasa ko na yung PL and promise, I like his character more than you do!
Yun lang. 4 kasi I just feel na mabilis ang pangyayari and nakukulangan ako sa cases😅 Parang nagbasa lang ako ng 3-5 chapter ng PL and DF. Lalo na nung nasa pinaka game show pa lang sila. Dalawang laro lang then finals na. :((
Love ko pa rin naman and I can say worth the read. Will recommended.
Again, AkosiIbbara and Schinichilaaaabs did not disappoint.
There were times that I felt bored, and not stimulated enough, especially at the beginning and middle part of the book, but the ending served, and it was piping cold.
I also loved that I was able to get the right deduction as them, making me one of them (sorta)! So far, this book is good, and can’t wait to read the other collaborations they have.⋆˚✿˖°
I like the interaction between the two detective team pero nabitin talaga ako eh. I also love the exchange of POVs between the two teams because I got to know what is their perspective about the case and also to their rival group.
I guess the book was okay. It's not particularly good, but the flow is praise-worthy. I guess fans were the one who can actually appreciate the collaboration, I can't guarantee you'll like it if hindi mo pa nababasa 'yong original series ng mga characters.
i enjoyed reading the book, but ngl the first few parts of the book were a bit boring. the mystery was also easy to solve and not that grand. naging interesting lang yung story sa dulong part na. super natagalan ako for the conflict. but overall it was a nice experience naman.
I love how the QED club and Detective Triumvirate plus one crossed path with one another. The way their own individual personality shines when they interact with other characters from different story. It shows what they are really capable of as we see them from different perspective aside from the usual point of view. Perharps the only negative about the story is the predictable flow of it. Don't get me wrong, the cases and codes are hard to solve. What I mean is it could have a twist that will differ it from the murder, finding the killer, and revealing the killer sequence. Maybe a new flow that is different from their usual detective work. But overall, I love the story and will likely to read it again! 🖤🖤🖤
I loved the characters' interactions. I also love how my favorite detective groups in WP are in the same universe. I want to thank the authors for giving us something special.
