My sister’s death is the worst thing I’ve ever been through. More destructive than the zombie virus, more damaging than losing my family and friends and everything else I’d ever known. I’ve tried coping, but no matter what I do, nothing seems to fill the hole in my heart.
Greg
After nine months on my own, safety is finally within my reach. I was starting to think I’d never get to experience human interaction again. Never get to hear laughter or feel the warmth of someone else’s skin on mine, and forget sex. All of that seemed like a dream. But not anymore.
Olivia and Greg are at a crossroads when they meet. Heartbroken and grieving, she’s about to give up, while he’s ready to start a life he’d thought might never happen. After a not-so-chance meeting, they work together to make it to the compound, and along the way learn something about the world.
They are not alone.
Olivia isn’t the only one who’s grieving after a devastating loss, and Greg isn’t the only person who feels alone in this world.
Together, they just might be able to find a future worth living…
I'm a mom of four, Air Force wife, and author of adult and young adult dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and science fiction. I love intense world building and character driven stories that feature strong female leads - as well as a side of romance - and any end of the world scenario. Zombies, aliens, a distant future where people have no clue how the world ended in the first place, you name it, I will create a story there!
Having lived in a lot of different places after more than a decade as an Air Force wife, I love setting my books in cities I've actually lived in to give them authenticity. I've resided in: Indiana, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, California, and Oklahoma but am currently back in my home state of Ohio where I live with my husband, four kids, two dogs, and three cats.
When I'm not writing, you can find me by my pool (in the summer), getting lost in some binge-worthy show or at a play with my husband, patronizing one of the great restaurants in my small town of Troy, Ohio with my family, or traveling. I want to see everything and make a point of visiting a new place every year!
Some of my favorite books are The Hunger Games, Pride and Prejudice, The Host, and The Stand. My favorite movies are Aliens, Jaws, Signs, Say Anything, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and The Greatest Showman.

I really liked this short story and maybe one of the best from A Zombie Apocalypse Love Story series. First I wasn't sure what to think about Olivia but when I knew her better, I began to like her. I liked Greg right away.
Another fantastic book to add to this amazing series. Like all the rest of the novellas, I wish they would never end. I honestly could read this series the rest of my days because it carries the perfect amount of romance, depth and of course zombies. Mary is one heck of an author and she does this genre amazingly and perfectly. 5 Stars!

WTF!?
I have received this book via a free promo code and this is my voluntary review. This is book 8 of the love in the Zombie Apocalypse accompanying novellas for the Broken World Series. Olivia feels like a ghost, like her entire life is a haunted house, surviving the loss of her identical twin sister makes her feel like the world is an alternate reality. She's lost in her grief, risking everything to get a photograph of her sister Sylvia. Both sisters survived the virus which killed off 75% of the worlds population, just for one of them to get bitten while on a supply run. Greg has spent the last 9 months travelling to get to a safe location, communicating briefly with survivors from Olivia's group he accepts a request to go and check on her at the apartment where she had disappeared to, Isolation has left him eager for the human contact, he finds her alone, crying. The attraction is instant for Greg but for Liv, she's furious that Hector sent someone to check on her. She refuses to be saved, but soon that anger at his presence fades as he becomes her solace. This book is told in dual POV... which to be honest, I wasn't loving. Out of all the narrators for these stories Megan Engeseth is not my favorite, I feel like it could have benefited from a male narrator.
Enjoy stories that take place during the zombie apocalypse, so I loved that aspect! This is a short read featuring Olivia and Greg; two people who have experienced loss and are learning to deal with it. Olivia’s sister died and she didn’t handle it quite well; she slept around and got a bit of a reputation, but she’s tired of all of that. She ends up helping Greg; he is on his own, so she brings him back to a compound of survivors. They have a connection, but problems arise when Greg lets others get into his mind. Throw in zombies, and these two are dealing with a lot. It was a good story, but I would’ve liked a bit more to the ending. Still entertaining for being a short read. Some sweet moments between Greg and Olivia; nice connection between them. I wanted a bit more groveling going on from some certain people, but mostly I liked how the story progresses.
Finding a Future (A Zombie Apocalypse Story #8) was a great read by Kate L. Mary. The death of Olivia's sister is the worst thing she's been through. Greg has been alone for nine months and safety is finally within his reach. They are both heartbroken and grieving when they meet. I absolutely loved reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
I LOVE the short stories that come out of Kate L Mary’s brain! They are just enough to quench my thirst for zombies. Who doesn’t love a passionate little love story to go with all the gore.
Another wonderful installment in Kate L. Mary's Zombie Apocalypse world. This one is a fast paced novella with a little action and a lot more sexy times.
Olivia and Greg both have hard losses to recover from and have difficulty finding their way to each other. Their story is more focused on taking a chance on love. Zombies, of course, are in it. But this is about opening up hearts and feeling again. I think that takes more courage than fighting zombies. The willingness to put yourself out there, especially knowing how much more likely you are to lose them.
This can be read independently of her Broken World series and of any of the other Zombie Apocalypse Love Stories.
As an avid fan of Walking Dead and all things zombie apocalypse, I love Kate’s books. I especially love all of the novellas she puts out. Just like the ones before, these are great quick reads that get your attention right off the bat.
