Marry the Scot #0.5-3

Marry the Scot Series: Volume I

Rate this book
An alpha laird who will do anything to get his lass.

A downed military pilot in love with his best friend's younger sister.

Four steamy romances, each containing a modern-day hot Scot finding his happily ever after.

Storm the Castle

"Come, lass. Get on a plane with me."

A Highlander walks into a bar...
My father's conference, to be exact. The Scot is huge, overbearing, and his gaze sets me on fire. He wants to take me home to see his mighty tower.
I'm tempted. I really am.
Except I just had a proposal from someone else. One that could give me everything I wanted.
Apart from love.

But when did I ever have a need for that?

Love Most, Say Least

“With my foot to the accelerator of a stolen vehicle, I kidnapped an unconscious heir.”

I never cared about who I’d marry, only that I had to walk the aisle before I was twenty-one or lose my inheritance. Then a tiny, wild-haired beauty pulled a stunt that sent my heart into overdrive, and my pulse hasn’t slowed since.
She had no idea a car wreck scarred my body and stole my family.
She couldn’t know that from one kiss, I’d be all but in love.
I’d saved my virginity for a marriage I didn’t value. Now Beth is in my sights, I finally know what I want, even if loving her means losing everything.

Hero

"Sit tight, lass. I'll find ye."

I always pictured my brother's best friend to be impressive--after all, he's a military helicopter pilot whose job is to save people. Then he appears in front of me and my assumptions fly out of the window.
Tattoos on muscles.
Grey eyes and a sexy smirk.
A Scottish accent to die for.
And what's more? He's here to rescue me from my uncle's clutches. My poor sheltered heart stands no chance.

The Rival

"I won't lose you. Not to him."

Resigned to marry a man I despise in order to save my family's farm, I can't let one point lie. If I'm going to lose my virginity anytime soon, it'll be on my terms. But when I proposition a stranger, I can't predict that the sweet, generous, super sexy man will turn out to be my betrothed's relative.
And fierce rival.
Let the Highland Games begin.

Four of the hottest Scots find their HEAs!

I'm so happy to see this boxed set available! Especially since it's the only place you can buy the prequel story, The Rival. Each story is a standalone romance, with brilliant writing and all the feels layered with heart and humor throughout.

The story of the swoony McRae clan starts with Lachlan and Marianne's story. Lachlan is constantly competing with his cousin, Hamish, yet Marianne refuses to be one more thing they compete for. This novella is packed with emotion and lays a wonderful foundation for the next generation's stories.

Storm the Castle brings together Hamish's son, Callum, who now holds his late father's title, and Mathilda Storm, the only woman with enough gumption to take on this gentle giant. This is a delightful, eventful, and steamy romance that solidifies Callum and Mathilda's place in the highlands and in our hearts.

Love Most, Say Least brings Mathilda's best friend, Beth, to her complete opposite, James, who is an honorary member of the McRae family and Callum's close friend. James is quiet and introspective while Beth is a firecracker whether she's in high heels or on four wheels. These two really bring out the best in each other and I loved every bit of their romance.

Hero is the final book in this set, and it follows Callum's brother, Gordain, and James' sister, Ella. They both need rescuing from difficult situations in their lives, and they find a friendship strong enough to solve any problem and a love that is absolutely divine. It's no secret that this is my favorite book in the series, and Gordain is utterly irresistible.

If you love contemporary Scottish romance, you don't want to miss this series. Its nuanced and insightful prose elevates the genre to a whole new level with characters who will forever live in your heart. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this set.

Storm the Castle (Marry the Scot, #1) :
This is such a great romance. I thought this might have been a historical romance but it was not. However, it did not disappoint. The main storyline is about Mathilda and Callum. How they met and their increasing attraction to each other. There are some serious subplots in the story e.g. raising a family from a young age, running a business to keep a home and hearth for your family, having a child out of wedlock, who is your father? The bio dad or the one that raised you, debt and the repercussion, physical abuse and dysfunctional family dynamics. Now these sub topics are just touched on but it really lends credibility to the overall story making it much more realistic. I love this book and highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Picture This (Marry the Scot, #4)
I enjoyed reading this book about one of the twins William McRae or Wasp and his love interest Taylor. I still like book one "Storm the Castle" best of all. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great writing, fantastic blend of 💕romance and action👍👍

Author Jolie Vines has developed a page-turner series here, with steam in the romance but it's judiciously used to enhance the romance. Family obligations are key in these romances built around two families, one Scottish, one English. My thoughts on each volume in the set:

Vol 1: Storm the Castle 5🌟stars
💕Mathilda finds herself a mountain man! Er, but he's a laird?👍👍

😍What a great romance, really well-written and with a super plot! So many obstacles that, by all rights, mean that Mathilda Storm, daughter of a powerful British businessman, should never get within spitting distance of cash-strapped Callum McRae. But Mathilda's sister Scarlett knows Mathilda has a "thing" for 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' and Callum is the Scottish reincarnation of that film's oldest bachelor brother Adam. Is Mathilda his perfect Ellie?

So many family issues on both sides to negotiate and resolve, a jerk potential fiance for Mathilda, pushy real estate agents eager to get Callum's estate: this plot has oodles of excitement, steam and touching tender moments. Most of the female characters are strong and ready to stand up for themselves, including fourteen year old Scarlett.

I must admit I read the rest of the Marry the Scot series before I got back to this one and I wish I had read this book first. It provides some key information about secondary characters who feature as leads in the later books.

Jolie Vines has joined the ranks of my fave British romance authors. She does a superb job of mixing romance, steam and thrilling adventure. The Scottish connection is a definite added plus for me, fan of all things Scottish, but the second book in the series is the one that hooked me and it's set mostly in England.

Vol. 2 Love Most, Say Least, 4.5🌟stars
😍Poor little speedster with a younger man who races her engine; will the social gap win over love?
👍👍💋
My first read in the series. Good writing, with some high drama brought on by a first-class villain in the family and some cold fish employers. The romantic leads, high speed loving Beth and mega rich orphan James, had great backstories. I was first attracted to the story because of the mention of a Scot (he's actually only half Scot, but I won't hold that against him!), but their budding romance and his looming ⏳ deadline for meeting his inheritance requirements made up for the fact that most of the action takes place in England. Plus, in a cute twist, it's the hero who's a new kid on the block when it comes to romance and intimacy and he's actually a bit younger than his dream girl. Despite his inexperience, things heat up at a brisk pace and lovers of steamy scenes will not be disappointed as this one waits a bit but then ...😉

This is a full story, no cliffhanger, but the end hints at the direction of the next book in the series. I look forward to seeing more of these characters, Scots or not, as the series continues.😊

Vol. 3: Hero. 4.5🌟stars
💓 Ella's "Prince Charming"? or a kilt-clad, tatted and pierced,🚁 high-flying Laird? 😉
👍👍💕🔥🚁🏰.
I was hooked! Great adventure with a bona fide villain (even two or three), and a braw Scottish hero with a hankering to rescue. Both romantic leads have been wronged and find passion and understanding in each other's arms. The hero is a walking, flying wet dream who resists due to the heroine's youth. Yes, she is only 18, but he's barely four years older! Plenty of drama, heaps of 🔥heat, and two souls who live for each other through difficulty -- exciting stuff!😯

The writing is good, although the pace did lag a bit in the middle, but with an adrenaline-rush climax and joyful ending. 😊

Prequel (Vol 0.5) The Rival: 4🌟stars
Good prequel insight into a family feud: all for love?💘

After reading author Jolie Vines' Marry the Scot series about the McRae brothers, the Fitzroys, and their loves, this is a good, brief insight into the previous generation and the intense rivalry between the McRae patriarch Hamish and his neighboring cousin. And, of course, a woman (or two!) to exacerbate their rivalry into feud.

Quality writing that made it a very enjoyable read. I read it after the other books in the series. It really did not matter and fits in as extra knowledge whether read first or later.

I read a complimentary copy of several of the books in this boxed set; this is my voluntary and honest review and opinions expressed are completely my own.

So I started this box set on a Friday night and well yeah I finished it the same night or should I say the following morning.... there was no way I was putting this down as once you get started you need to know what happens in the next book and the next and the next.

Storm the Castle:
Mathilda is awesome, she's smart, a bit sassy and knows what she wants but her sister means more than her own happiness, then the fates put Callum in front of her not one, not twice but three times and you know the saying ... Third time's the charm!! You feel Mathilda's conundrum with the choices she has but then you a like really lass look what's in front of you a deliciously giant hot Scots man where family means everything and is willing to show his heart and sole to win the girl. You are rooting for then to overcome the odds to come together and you get loads of laughs, more delicious Scotsman, family, fighting for want you want and a major compulsion to move to Scotland!!!

Love Most, Say Least:
You knew James was haunted by something but you had no idea how deep it ran and how controlled he was, so thank gawd for Callum as James may be well off privilege wise but he is poor in emotion and love. Then there is Beth who has a poor upbringing and needs to work multiple jobs to get by, but embraces life so even though she had James are so opposite they are the perfect match. I loved seeing James come out of his shell especially in the way he contacted Beth lol and seeing him finally wanting to take steps to bring his life back under his own control for which Beth is a big reason for it. However someone has more power over his life and you are biting your lip not knowing if James is really strong enough and if Beth will stick around so buckle up for a read with plenty of highs, lows and steamy times!!

Hero:
Gordain really is a hero, he swooped in and saved Ella when the dastardly dick was going crazy in her and James house but now Gordain is avoiding her and when Ella asks him to marry her yeah that doesn't go as planned. At times I just want to shake some sense into these two as everyone knows they are meant to be together, but then I also understand Gordain's hesitation about Ella's age but also the other strife going on in his life. You are on the edge of your seat hoping the lawyers find away for Ella to get access to her money but there are twists you don't see coming as well as an undeniable attraction between them if only they were really honest with their feelings. I floved the book ripping part in the apartment as well as declaration Gordain makes at the chapel... swoon. And then there is the ending well all I can say is god bless Mrs Hinchcliffe and her great timing! 🤭

The Rival:
It was great to see how Callum and the other brothers father and family were prior to them being around and good lord Hamish is a complete douche canoe!! I was captivated by Lachlan and Marianne's instant connection especially with the period of time it was set where things were more conservative and reminded me of Callum and Mathilda when they first met. I just wish it was a smidge longer so there could have been a bit more character development, but it was still a perfect read to finish the box set and definitely best to read further into the series and not at the start so you really get the feel for everyone.

Hot highlander and the women they fall for!

What an amazing box set. Books one and three where my absolute favorite! Book two with James and Beth didn't seem to have that connection the other books had. They eventually got there but almost toward end of the book. Love, family, friends, sexy highlander in kilts to a pilot hero in a kilt! check, check and check for some total hottness! New author for me and she rocked this Irish/Scottish girls heart with this set! Free with K.U., HEA and epilogue after each book!

Modern Scottish Convert

I don't read modern romance. Usually because it's more bad language than story. Not with this series. First time reading this author but will read more. Great characters, heat, and story.

Book 0.5 - The Rival
perfect prequel for a series
This is "just" a novella, but the story is so cute. Insta love with a "love" triangle. But without cheating.
Lachlan is so cute. And Hamish is such an...
But Lachlan is also such an...
Again it's so hard for me to write a review for a novella. So, I keep it short and say "I can't wait to read the next books in this series."

This book has a lot of Scottish language in it, because they all are Scots, but it isn't difficult to read.

Book 1 - Storm the Castle
Scottish highlander, must read!
After reading the prequel, I jumped into book 1.
And yes, I instantly "remembered" why Jolie is one of my favorite authors.
I already said I read the "Wild Scots" first, but to read the parent's stories was a must for me. Finally, I could do it. And WOW.
Callum and Mathilda's story is so cute.
Sure there were a few moments where I could have jumped onto the book and screamed at them. Especially Mathilda. God, sometimes I really thought she is crazy. Don't get me wrong, I need this in books. If they would go like I have it in my mind it would be boring. All these complications. The twists. The problems. The stupidity... I need and love that.
Callum is such a perfect guy. Not only because he is tall as a tree and HAF, he is also so cute. And hell, he is a laird.
Even with all the problems, it's an insta love. Yes, they didn't want to accept it themselves at first, but it is. And they couldn't fit together more perfectly. All the tension between them. Soo good.
The love they have for their families, even though both didn't have the best past...
I thought after the prequel Hamish could be better than I first thought he is, but...
Unfortunately not only Hamish wasn't what I hoped he would be...

Book 2 - Love Most, Say Least
another perfect book by Jolie Vines
OMG
First, this book takes place parallel to book 1. So a few parts were already known, but not in detail.
OK, we have a rich 20-year-old earl. Who is WOW. You would think he has an easy life and lots of girls... Wrong. I don't want to say too much just, he is a virgin.
And then we have a poor 21-year-old orphan who tries to juggle her multiple jobs, studying, and caring for her foster mom.
Their worlds couldn't seem more different. But still, they have so much in common.
I felt soo sorry for all that happened to James. His uncle is *aaaaaaarg* I can't find words for him... And still, James is so cute and everything. Luckily he found Gordain and Callum who showed him humanity.
The chemistry and tension between James and Beth... (God, it's good that I'm no author... I really have problems finding the right words...) It's just BANG. They saw each other and even though both thought it couldn't be, it already was love.
Even with all this love, this isn't just a cute love story. Because of all their history, there are so many obstacles. And it looked bad for them. Again, I can't understand this f... of Richard (James' uncle).
The end of the book definitely made me jump into book 3, because YES I need to know how Ella will decide what to do now with what she was told... (sorry no spoiling here)
Oh, the bonus was so cute.

Book 3 - Hero
he is more than just a hero, he is the best!
I really loved Gordain. I sometimes had to remind myself that he is only 22. He is so mature for his age. But sure, he joined the Air Force when he was 16... And like all the McRae's he is WOW. A real highlander/mountain man. He is so protective but he is also so insecure. With this kind of father he had, it's no wonder...
Ella is so cute. And her dream about her hero who rescues her with a helicopter. But she is so young and so extremely unexpired about everything. What, again, isn't a surprise with her story... I already hated her uncle (Richard) in book one. This creature... I don't have words for him.
Gordain is a real hero. And he showed it more than once in this book 🩷
There is so much tension between Gordain and Ella, but they need so long to admit it. Gordain always thinks Ella is too young to love. I think it's because of his insecurity. But the love he feels for Ella is indescribable.

My personal hero in this book is Mrs. Hinchcliffe. Yes, I confess it. I generally love the Hinchcliffs (they are the housekeepers of Belvedere, the Fitzroy's family home). But they are also like grandparents for James and Ella. And what she did (even though it wasn't intended) was very satisfying for me. I know, I know, it's not OK to think something like that, but hey, it's a book, right?

Overall Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall Spice: mostly slow-burn, 🌶️-🌶️.5/5

Overall Impressions: Jolie Vines is an author that is new to me (I actually started with Obsessed: Wild Mountain Scots #1, but wanted to go back to the beginning to understand family connections), and her books are very well-written; a great mix of romance and action. These stories are built around the importance of family and supporting those you love in achieving their dreams. She makes me want to go visit Scotland and find my own Highlander *swoon*

Each story is a standalone romance, but you will want everyone’s story once you start!

Volume 1: Storm the Castle

This story was a great balance of romance and plot, and follows Mathilda Storm (FMC), and Callum McRae (MMC). Mathilda and Callum are instantly drawn to one another when they meet, and both have a ton of family issues and stressors to navigate and resolve. Mathilda is a strong FMC who is trying to find a way to follow her dreams and not settle for a life her father wants her to have, and Callum is under pressure as the head of his family’s estate that is in dire financial straits. There is plenty of romance, steam, and adventure leading towards Mathilda and Callum’s HEA.

I’m glad that I decided to start this series after reading Obsessed, because Jolie does a fabulous job of laying the foundation for the McRae family and this series provides key information about secondary characters who get their stories told in later books.

Volume 2: Love Most, Say Least
This story follows Beth (FMC), who is Mathilda’s best friend that we met in Marry the Scot, and James Fitzroy (MMC), an orphan who has come to the McRae family to learn how to run an estate and in turn, has his found family in the McRae’s. Both Beth and James have touching backstories, and the chemistry between these two? *SWOON* James is EVERYTHING that Beth needs, and the fact that she is the one teaching him about intimacy? *chef’s kiss* Despite lacking some experience, James does NOT leave Beth wanting. Now, add in a ton of drama surrounding James needing a wife in order to meet inheritance requirements, a despicable villain trying to control James, and we have the recipe for high drama.

Volume 3: Hero

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but, this book had me wanting to go to Scotland to find my own tatted, pierced, helicopter-flying, kilt-clad Scot! This is the most action-packed book in the set, as there is adventure, ANGST (Gordain tries to stay away from Ella since she’s 18…and even though he’s only 22, he has A LOT of strife in his life with his career, family, and future home), and a few villains. There is plenty of drama, heat, and growth for our MCs!

Prequel 0.5: The Rival

This was a nice prequel to give insight into a family feud from the previous generation (I read this after the other three books, and it was complementary knowledge).

Awesome Book Set!!!

I absolutely loved reading this book set with three separate full novels!!! Book 1 is Storm the Castle all about Callum McRae a highland Scot who is seven feet tall & Mathilda is six feet tall, very smart with killer legs. The castle I live in is in major disarray and needs a lot of work. Mathilda has a lot of ideas to turn it into a bed & breakfast, but it needs to be repaired first. And my brothers and I still need to live here. Read Callum & Mathilda and see if they can turn the castle into a paying property!!! Lots of emotion and plenty of toe curling throughout.
Book 2 is Love Most, Say Least is about James Fitzroy is an Earl who is twenty and is learning the castle business from Callum & Beth is also twenty and is Mathilda’s crazy roommate. James needs to marry when he turns twenty-one in order to inherit his family’s estate. His parents died when he was a child in a car accident and he was in the car. It’s just him and his sister who are left, and his sister lives with their uncle at the estate. He likes Beth but she scares him, because she drives crazy, and since he was scarred from the accident that took his parents, he’s deathly afraid. As long as she does not drive, he likes her. Read about James & Beth and see if she might be his one and only!!! Lots of emotion and some toe curling does occur.
Book 3 is called Hero, all about Ella Fitzroy who is eighteen and is in boarding s hood & Gordian McRae who is twenty-four a pilot in the Royal AirForce in Scotland and also is on Search & Rescue team in the Highlands. Gordian is Callums little brother and the twins older brother. He’s met Ella a number of times she’s the little sister of his BFF James. She is fighting with her uncle to get away from him, he has been stealing her family’s money for years + he’s her guardian until she turns thirty or gets married. She’s gotten close with Gordian and asks him to marry her, he says no. She goes back to her estate, before entering college. Read about Ella & Gordian and see if they can compromise to beat her uncle. Lots of emotion and plenty of toe curling does occur. This entire box set is a Definite Read!!!

THE RIVAL
This was hard to get into. I couldn’t really feel the characters or the story. Luckily it was short. It was nice to see the origin story of Lachlan and Marianne but it just lacked any fizzle.
Also felt too similar to ‘Storm the Castle’

STORM THE CASTLE
“This is what I’m good at—making my clan strong. Let me.”
Callum McRae (age 26) is laird and master to the McRae ancestral estate. He’s raising his twin brothers after his father has passed and holding his family together.
Mathilda Storm (age 25) is trying to get custody of her sister and figure out her career.
One look and they were both smitten. I really loved how much Callum stepped up for her and his family. The mixed family theme and unconditional love was beautiful and made for great side characters. Would have loved more spicy scenes but the ones we got were good. And an HEA that has you smiling.

LOVE MOST, SAY LEAST
“Our poor, orphaned souls had found each other.”
James Sebastian Moncrief Durant, the tenth Earl Fitzroy (age 21) is heir of Belvedere, one of the grandest homes and estates in England. He is the mentee/adopted McRae brother. A car wreck scarred his body and stole his parents at a young age.
Beth Grace (age 22) is Mathilda’s best friend. She grew up in foster care and works 2 jobs to get by and help her foster Mom.
This story is cuteness overload alert! James is such a sweet character as we watch him grow in confidence as he claims his love and stands up to his Uncle. Beth has the kindest heart and I love how she’s willing to do anything to love and protect James. So many scenes to make you smile. Especially as James is the virgin and quickly learns to be intimate.
“Who are wise in love, love most, say least.”
Loved having more of the McRae family and the way they support each other.
Running straight to G and Ella’s book now!

HERO
Gordain McRae (age 21) is Cal’s brother. He is James’s closest friend and a pilot in the Royal Air Force. He faced a formal disciplinary hearing after a situation he doesn’t quite understand.
Ella Fitzroy (age 18) is James’s younger sister. She was sent to a boarding school but now has found her way back to her family.
Gordain and Ella are perfect for each other but too afraid to voice it. She always dreamed of a hero and then she got one! Loved seeing them be there and open up to each other. A bit slow burn so wish there were more spicy scenes.
It was great having the McRae and Fitzroy cameos as this crazy group keeps getting larger!
Looking forward to Wasp and Taylor next.

Three “love at first sight” stories. Of course there have to be complications to overcome. The characters in these stories are all friends or related somehow so there’s continuity. Several of them are filthy rich which helps ease any financial burdens and somehow everything miraculously falls into place. These people are pretty likable even though totally unbelievable so I’m on to Volume II.

Marry in Haste, Repent at Leisure - I do feel that both James and Ella will perhaps experience fallout later when the novelty of a new romance wears off. Brother and sister were orphaned at a young age and their lives were overseen by an uncaring uncle. Neither of them had much friendship experience and no romances whatsoever so were ripe to embrace the first attraction they felt to the opposite sex. IRL at some point they’re going to wonder what they missed by not sowing their wild oats, so to speak, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them act out down the line. But that’s a story for another time.

Amazing Read x

I started the Scot’s series at Hard Nox through to Obsessed not realising I had missed some, but it was good to go back and read about the generation before having some insight into the part they play on the future. It allowed me to see why some of the characters has developed into the people they were as older adults and why they made the decisions they did in the future.

Every time I think I have a favourite character or couple, the next book throws me off and I like them too. The interlinked storylines helped build the plot and the characters personalities. It highlighted the bonds the brothers had despite their harsh up bringing abs how their wives and how their wives and weans strengthened them.

Your books instil family values and loyalty and reminded me that no matter what family come first. I enjoyed reading this series and can’t wait for more xx

A Fantastic Treasury of Scottish Romance!

Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice 🌶🌶🌶

Favorite Quote: "In the past, when I’d dreamed about this, I hadn’t guessed at the wave of heat, the heightening of every sense, the surge of my blood. I fucking trembled under his kiss."

REVIEW:

Three delicious novels and one novelette following four strapping Scotsmen. First up is Callum and Mattie in 'Storm the Castle". Here Jolie Vines sets the stage for her world of heroes and heroines. There story is a bit of a slow burn, with a great payoff. Next up is James Fitzroy and Beth Grace in "Love Most, Say Least." Their story features a bit more drama and begins to set up Vines' third installment. James and Beth have a sweet romance that has them both overcoming trauma and demons of their past.

Third, we have Ella Fitzroy and Gordain McRae in "Hero". This installment continues to build on the world Vines is creating in the Scottish Highlands, while also giving us a bit more of Beth and James' story. I was on the edge of my seat for this portion of the bundle!!!

Of the three full length nove!s in the bundle " Hero" was my favorite. Gordain is a helicopter pilot, rightful heir to the McRae clan, and selfless hero. Ella, while young, has been dealt her fair share of family drama, but she is smart, determined and definitely not a shrinking violet.

The novelette brings us back in time to Lachlan and Merrianne's beginning while also explaining some of Callum and Gordain's parentage and origin.

All in, I believe the series helps to set the stage for the world Jolie Vines has carefully curated over the years in her novels. Absolutely worth a read if you enjoy romance set in a castle, morally sound gentlemen, and strong women who can give as good as they get!!

Loved them all

I started reading the first book, about Callum and Matilda, and almost freaked out. I could hardly bear the thought that she would make the wrong decision because of her love for her sister.
I enjoy book service about family and friends. James and Beth were big parts of the first book, their story was as compelling in a different way .
Then Gordain and Ella, what a lovely surprise. Such a great book and story. Loved reading all the books, enjoyed an author that’s new to me.

Here's the thing about this series. Have you ever had a book and been like ahh, if they would just talk to each other all their problems would be solved. This is the exact opposite. These characters are so good at communicating that their problems seem to go away instantly and I almost missed the drama. These are all also Insta love, immediate love at first sight and I usually don't love that in a book, BUT the characters are so well written and I was so invested in their stories that I just kept picking up the next book. And I'm still invested so I'm off to find wasp and ally's books. 😂

Ok book

This book was pretty good. I really liked Callum and how much he was into Mathilda. He’s such a good guy and a stud. I didn’t really like her and her indecisions on Callum and whether she should marry in name only to get her dad to allow her sister to live with her. I also didn’t like it when the hero struggles with money. But that’s just my own hang-up. I really like the brotherly between Callum and his brothers. Callum and Mathilda has great chemistry and care a lot for each other.

Loved Callum and Gordain

The first story was a quick read... enough to where your appetite for more of these Highlanders and an Earl.
I truly thought the best story was Gordain and Ella's. It seemed to flow better than the other stories.
My biggest issue was the inconsistency between ye/you...if you're writing a story about a Scottish Highlander with an accent you should be consistent in their vernacular and dialogue all the way through the book.

Sooo good😍

I can't say enough about these books. I love everything about Ms . Vines" writers voice". It makes me think that I'm really hearing the characters tell me how they met, and fell in love. I can hear them laughing, and crying, in every other emotional scene that's critical to the story. She is a amazing story teller. I can't recommend her books enough. I'll be getting volume 2 next. It makes you want to go find a big brawny Scot for yourself.

I was a little leery going into this series since I read the next set of books first. Something about reading romances of the parents of books I've already read is just...weird.
Ha. Silly me doubting Ms. Vines.
I loved each of these books. SO good! I love the Scotlant setting. I love the Scottish heroes. I love the strong, caring and relatable heroines. The banter is fun. The chemistry is hot.
What more could you want in a romance? A+

First time reader

This was the first time reading this author, and I am glad I took the opportunity. This book kept my attention and I had several other books that I really wanted to get to. I just couldn't stop reading about Mathilda and Callum. I can not wait to read the next in the series.

Well written and I loved the characters

I love the characters and stories for each one. This is one of the first book series that I could actually visualize as I read. There are happy highs and emotional lows. I love the intensity from Callum. The love from James. And Gordain’s story was crazy intense and emotional. The novella was great. I adore a backstory. All in all, 10/10!

Love it!

Absolutely love the storyline and characters!! Getting to know each set of couples and their continued stories in each couples story. It doesn't have a ton of spice, but a good amount at the perfect times! Definitely worth a read and I can't wait to start the twins stories next!!

I loved these stories! The character development and growth is fantastic. The spice is perfect! And I was kicking, giggling, and doing happy dances so much I'm sure if anyone had seen me they would have thought I was crazy. Intense moments and heartbreak.
I've already started Vol. 2 and I am so happy I picked these books up!

Excellent series!

I loved each and every one of these books. All have strong, respectable, and supportive males and even stronger women. They fall fast and hard and the writing is superb. Can’t wait to read the next volume!
