I know this book stresses that it's for teens but I know lots of adults who could benefit from this guide as well. There are 60 guided exercises that will help teens look outward and develop mindfulness skills. Many of the guided exercises and strategies seem straightforward but it really makes the reader think long and hard about their actions and thoughts. This book promises to help teens become their best selves, connect with peers, chill out, sleep better, and even improve on their homework! The exercises only last 5 to 10 minutes and this whole book can be completed in 2 months if teens are really committed to working on one strategy a day (although there is no rush!). A great book to give to the teen in your life that needs a little boost and needs to not look inward so much.

Exercises for teens but generally for anyone. Its divided into morning, day and night. But you can do any of them at any point in time. The exercises may repeat due to similar examples of breathing techniques or similar things to be worried about. The exercises are divided into categories like calm , reconnect, respond, focus.

I knew several mindful exercises beforehand but for beginners, this would be a good book to keep on hand.

I admit, I was skeptical about a mindfulness book for teens. Would today's hyper-connected teenagers take time to read something like this? But author Jennie Marie Battistin nailed it! The secret is in both the brevity and the variety of the activities. Each suggestion gives an estimated time both to read it and practice it, and it's always within that 10 minute range. The exercises, split into 4 categories, including "focus" and "calm", are accessible and can be done anywhere. And it's not just for teens. Anyone looking to add a quick dose of mindfulness to their day will find this book a win.

If I had been given this as a teen, I would have ruled my eyes. I was not ready and open to these ideas. As an adult, these exercises helped me through the most challenging time of my life.

This is an absolutely awesome self-help book. The first thing is goes over is "What is mindfulness?" in terms that are easy to understand for the intended audience. Then it has 3 parts divided into the sections Mindful Mornings, Midday Mindfulness and lastly Mindfulness at Midnight. Each section has Mindfulness activities that are short and easy to do. I have a favorite from each section. From Mindful Mornings when I know I am going to have a stressful day I enjoy doing the Butterfly Hug. It is calming and the positive affirmation it gives is not only comforting but also helps my day get off to a better start. The Midday Mindfulness activity SAFE is my number one from this whole book as it encourages me to "cultivate a positive mood of kindness and compassion."

Often I am so critical and self depreciating and this self-help book helps me to rewire my thinking process because I struggle daily. Using this book is helping me to manage my depression a bit more than I was before and has helped me to maintain a more positive attitude towards myself and those around me. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

My 14 year old daughter and I tried to read this together, but (being a teenager) she wasn’t interested in the exercises and wouldn’t take it seriously. I think this book contains good exercises if you will take them seriously, but I’m not sure the target audience of teens will be receptive.

I got this book for my kids and I thumbed through the book myself. I actually found the exercises helpful for myself. I especially liked Procrastination Pit. I encourage everyone to use these exercises not just teens.
