SPOILERS INCLUDED BELOW

The threesome in the 1st book with hero Benji, Caden (hero from 1st book and Benji’s best friend) and Riley (the heroine from 1st book and Caden’s wife) really hurt my enjoyment of that story. It ruined the image of Caden’s supposed possessiveness and jealousy, what I loved about him. Despite being told otherwise in both books, no way in Hades would a jealous and possessive hero find it in any way acceptable for OM to smex his forever heroine especially since that OM continued to be intimately involved in their lives and the OM felt that he had the right to continue to touch said woman.

However for the sake of my enjoyment of this book I was willing to ignore that it occurred, putting it out of my mind. Sadly it was made impossible for that to happen. Why? Because of the never ending thoughts and references to it. Caden talked about it, threatening Benji that it would never happen again. Sorry dude that ship sailed. No use closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Riley, who I disliked in this book because she refused not to be the center of Benji’s attention even though she was with Caden, at one point flirted with Benji and started to unbuckle Benji’s pants indicating she wanted a repeat performance when Caden made her jealous. Of course Benji didn’t push her away. She decided to stop. Also the poor heroine Ava, who never was really treated the way she deserved by Benji, was worried about it and then concerned every time she saw Benji being close to Riley. At one point Ava thought that she should agree to have a three way with him and Riley to make Benji happy. How pathetic.

It was a huge turn off to be that it was Benji who would not stop thinking about it and talking about it. It was clear that he wanted a repeat performance that included Riley and someone else, preferably Ava. How sweet that he wanted to include Ava. Lucky girl.

For example, sometime after Benji had already slept with Ava the first time, he woke up in bed with both Riley and Ava, one on each side of him. The reason that they were all in bed together was innocent but Benji got hard and wanted to have sex with both women at the same time. Riley initially seemed to be willing to do it or at least had fun letting Benji think she would but then changed her mind. That was the time that Ava thought she should do it for a Benji, to make him happy despite the fact that she was jealous of his and Riley’s relationship. Benji would occasionally think that he didn’t want Riley in that way but then would think about their threesome. His self denials were so not believable.

His thoughts about it were never ending. They continued throughout the story. In fact the second to last page, that was part of the epilogue, Benji thought, “Now that Ava knows that I don’t want Riley in that way, not again, they’ve become pretty close. Not close enough for us to sleep together as the thought of Caden putting his hands on Ava kinda made me want to vomit, even if it kinda turned me on, well because I’m me- but close in a family way.” Such a sick pup. Sorry dude but you have zero credibility when it comes to you not wanting Riley anymore. If Caden and Ava gave their consent to a 3 or 4 way then Benji boy would be all over her...I mean that.

I never believed that he ever loved Ava. It felt like he settled for someone who helped him deal with his drug addiction. For the longest time Ava came last, at least behind other women in his life who he interacted with. For example for awhile, even after meeting Ava he thought about a former lover daily. When he saw said former lover, even after sleeping with Ava, he let her grope and kiss him while mentally caught up in the past.

Another example is that Benji had every intention of having a ONS with a waitress. He thought that while the OW was not Ava that she would do. The only reason that he didn’t was because Ava confronted him as he was leaving with OW. Let’s not forget Riley. He was guarding her all all the time to keep her safe. He felt that entitled him to hold her hand and putting his arms around her shoulder including while walking around campus. Also he felt it was acceptable for him to see her only in a towel and think about their 3 way.

Enough already. Just stop. Ava could have done much better than him. She could have been with a man who put her first from the beginning and who was not still wanting to have a 3 way. It was sad to see her end up with Benji.

“And you’re, what? A hero?” I straighten my seat and turn to gaze at her. “No, Ava,” I answer her with a smile. “Not even close.”

4.5 Deliciously Benji Stars

From the moment I finished "Let Me", I NEEDED more of Benji. Everything about him pulled me in. So when I saw Break Me was out, I knew it was skipping the long TBR list to be read next. Of course I was scared, that my instalove for this seemingly unlovable character would be destroyed when I got an in-depth view of him.....yeah, that fear was completely unwarranted. He not only lived up to the dark & delicious fantasy BUT surpassed it. I am shocked others haven't discovered this series & fallen for it too. This is the kind of series that is a true dark bully fan dreams of.

“You want to be the bad guy. You want to be the darkness. Well guess what, Benji?” I brush my mouth over his soft lips. “I know you’re more than that, even if you don’t want to admit it to yourself. Even if you never do. I know you’re more.”

Book Facts: Told in dual POV, Break Me is the 2nd installment in the Vengeful series. It could be read as a standalone, however it is definitely best to be read after "Let Me" for the full experience. Benji is violent, dangerous, dominant, a felon, & 100% unattainable.....he also just happens to be absolutely gorgeous with a ridiculously filthy mouth. In N.C. to help his best friend Caden protect Riley, he doesn't expect to run into the girl that has the ability to break him. Ava is the mayor's daughter, stuck up, too good, and definitely not for him.... she also happens to be the one girl that is incredibly irresistible & the one that has him questioning everything. He can't have her, he can't let her in. If she knew who he really was, she wohld never be able to handle it. But that doesn't mean Benji doesn't want to give in & try. Will Ava be the one to finally break through his impenetrable walls? Does end with a HEA.

"I don’t fight for girls, Princess. Not anymore." “I’m not a girl,” she yells, running around to my side of the car. “I’m a fucking lady!”

Timeline of Thoughts:
Starting: I loved Benji & his darkness in Book 1 so I am EXCITED for his story!
9%: I am picking up on a pattern (or similarity) with this heroine in comparison to Riley.... although I don't remember Riley being so full of herself.
19%: I didn't forget how incredibly hot Benji is but geez this reminder is welcome.
34%: Gawh Damn, I'm not sure if anyone has ever written a dude like he was specifically written from my wish list.
46%: My heart absolutely breaks for her. Poor poor Ava.
61%: Fucking Bianca....well that answers that question.
81%: Holy shit.... I DID NOT expect that from her!
86%: Come on Benji, let yourself be happy!
98%: Gawh that was as sweet as I think Benji will EVER get, BUT it definitely didn't lose its hotness!
Finished: I NEED more of them! Maybe a Felix & Tess thing? Shit I don't care as long as I get more of these two!

"The Five":
Loves from Book: Benji & Riley's "friendship", the first "booty call", Ava's moments with her mom, "Princess", "You broke me".
Hates from Book: Dumont, Rolland, Bianca, Benji's refusal to be "happy", "You aren't for me".
Quotes:
“You just want my dick?” I taunt her, moving my fingers back down her wet slit. “You just want me to fuck you, is that it, Princess?” “That’s okay, baby,” I tell her, standing up and yanking her around, then turning her so she’s facing the couch. I push her down on it, so she’s on all fours. My fingers twine in her hair, yanking her head up. “I just wanna fuck you too.”
-Benji

“You’re the girl that’s fucked my life up,” he hisses at me, his breath caressing my mouth. “You, Ava. You’ve got me thinking maybe I’m not so bad. Maybe I don’t really need to do this shit I do. Maybe, one day, I could be something else. Someone’s father, like I never had. I could be someone’s husband, I could love someone gently. I could be the person to someone that I always wanted for myself but never got.”
-Benji

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I huff a laugh at that. “So many things, Ava.” I shake my head as I pull into a parking garage. “So many things.”
-Ava & Benji

“If that’s what you want,” he says roughly, “then I’ll go.” Silence between us. And then, “But Princess,” he sighs, “I don’t think you even fucking know yourself.”
-Benji

I can’t stop the soft moan that escapes my lips, into his hand. He smiles against my skin. “That’s my girl,” he whispers.
-Benji

Honorable Mention:
“Take off your shirt.” She doesn’t move for a second. She looks confused, and I smirk at her. “If I take it off, I’m going to rip it in two.” I lick my lips. “And I think you probably spent too much on it for that, huh?”
-Benji

Final Thoughts:
1. Fav Scene/Thing from Book: Hands down Benji's dominance & deliciously filthy mouth.
2. Least Fav Scene/Thing from Book: Would have to be what happens in the hall at the Toronto restaurant.
3. Ava: First impression is she is completely stuck up and absolutely full of herself in every way. Mayor's daughter & sleeping with her much older professor. I love that she doesn't try to play hard to get just to do it.... she knows what she wants & goes for it.  Your heart is going to break for her, trust me on that one.
4. Benji: Deliciously dark & violent, but with an eerie calm to him that makes him even scarier. He takes what he wants & does/says what he wants with zero fucks given. He also has anxiety that he seems to use certain "things" to cope with. He is haunted by a past love that makes him cold & 100% against any attachments or feelings towards females, which makes you root for Ava to bust down his walls even more.
5. Writing: It is so good that you don't even realize how far you've made it into the story until you force yourself to look. She does a phenomenal job with Benji, portraying a truly believable dominant & demanding "modern" man-- not at all cheesy or cringey. She is able to mix all these emotions into one story, making you strongly feel every single one. I loved that breaking through Benji's walls was such a slow & infuriating process, but it made it feel authentic.

“You with your sick mom and your fucking bleeding heart and your beautiful eyes and your lost fucking soul and how you feel when I’m inside you.”

Overall, I have to say that I don't think I could ever be fully satisfied when it comes to Benji & Ava....they are one of those rare couples that refuses to let me go. I'm not sure if there are plans for more in this series, but I know I desperately need to see these two in someone else's story in the future.

“I knew I wouldn’t break you. But you… well, Princess, you were the one to break me.”

This was ok. The threesome from the last book dragged on as a “thing” of discussion and thought too much for me in this novel. There were parts of the H I LOVED and then some not so much. I don’t think I care for the h, I feel like the “mom dying of cancer” was thrown in to give the h a storyline. The first was better. But I preferred this H.

Benji is one of those characters that I find absolutely irresistible. Now, even though Felix was barely mentioned, I kinda want to read his story...

Benji Silva

that's all you need to know. Benji is baby.

Ok but for real, I really enjoyed this book. Ava and Benji were both really amazing strong characters who were going through some tough shit and while they tried to fight it, they found a home within each other.
This was a great conclusion to the duet and I highly recommend reading Benji's book because hes just delicious. enough said.

Okay... all I can say is I FREAKING LOVE BENJI ahhhh this was such a good read!! Benji is so irresistible. Benji freaking Silva. GOD..... He is everything!!!!

Benji is in North Carolina with Riley, doing his role as her protector when Caden has to go back for work. Both of the guys are on high alert with Rolland still running around since he disappeared. Then while Benji is dropping off Riley at college, he runs into Ava.. and GOD their first meeting was like the PERFECT meeting.. like the perfect story to tell your kids one day how him and their mother met. It was instant love, from that moment on it was impossible for each of them not to think about the other.

Ava is losing her mother to breast cancer and her life is a huge mess up until she runs into Benji and made her late to class and Benji is consumed with his darkness and his past haunting him up until Ava. Both of them were both dealing with some pretty hard stuff, but through each other they found solace, a home, within each other.. even though they really tried to fight it. In this book, we find out more about Benji and his other business as well as what landed him in jail a few years ago. The story is so heartbreaking.. what his ex did was truly messed up. He shouldn't have had to go to jail, and his ex definitely didn't deserve him, especially considering they weren't fully committed to each other and because well Ava his soulmate duh. Anyways, what happened really toughened him up and he also loves to see people die really.. but at the same time he is sweet, caring, protective and loyal. He thinks he doesn't deserve someone like Ava, and that he is a monster... but Ava makes him see who he truly is and how she loves him despite everything he thinks is a flaw.

I loved these two so much, I hope we can get more books on Benji and Ava and Caden and Riley. I would love to see how things go from here, especially now that Benji is his dark business. :)

K.V. Rose is my favorite author of all times, forever and always for all of eternity and I will say this in all my reviews of her because each and every one of you need to start reading her books NOW!

This book picks up where ‘Let Me’ leaves off but you honestly can read this as a stand-alone.
Benji is in North Carolina working “protective duty” over Riley. Riley has a little stalker named Rolland just itching to ruin her life. While Benji is dropping Riley off at college he runs into our lovely Ava. It’s definitely a meet cute. The moment they meet it’s instant chemistry and I knew it was going to be good. Both of them are witty, sarcastic, smart and flirtatious.

We find out more about Benji and what landed him in jail a few years ago, what he does for a living and what truly plagues him. His story about his ex was so heart wrenching. There’s times where you think you shouldn’t like Benji because he’s a man who honestly loves to see people die, but he’s also this insanely loyal and protective man.

As things with Ava progress more, the dynamic between Caden, Riley and Benji starts to switch back to normal. You can see more how toxic Caden and Riley are and how Benji was just drawn to that because he’s a little fucked up. But as Ava starts to make him realize who he really is, it fixes that whole situation.

I definitely enjoyed this one. I always know my 5 star books right away when I’m already at 80% and I feel like I just picked it up. When you can get lost in a story and feel involved, without realizing how much you’ve read - that’s when you know it’s good. That’s definitely this book.

Break Me (Vengeful #2) 5✨

Ava is lost, she’s losing her mother, her life is a big mess till she runs into the asshole who made her late to class a boy that’s bound to ruin her life more than it already is.
Benji is hiding from himself from his darkness and his past all he cares about is protecting Riley his bestfriend from the person after her but what happens when he runs into a girl that has him questioning all that he is?

This book was beautiful it genuinely was.
Benji’s darkness brings light to my soul and his chemistry with Ava was off the charts i felt for him and everything he went through and his battle with his demons and i fell for him and his protective personality.
I loved Ava i related to her a lot and everything she struggles with and her strong headed personality.

This book concludes me reading all K.V Rose’s work and i must say everything she writes is good and beautiful i havent read one book that i haven’t fell in love with yet.

Favorite Quotes

“I knew I wouldn’t break you. But you…well, Princess, you were the one to break me.”

“Underneath all the darkness, he’s light.”

“She can never fucking leave me. And I’ve definitely got to die first. Or maybe we’ll go together.”

Very poor editing!

I have read both books, Let Me and Break Me. The books are an "easy read" which is a huge compliment as far as I am concerned. I even find the characters likeable. I, also, understand when in the throes of creating it is easy to fumble and make grammatical errors. The person I find most at fault for these errors making their way to the printed page is the person/s editing!! Two horrendous errors within pages of one another...pages 255 and 256 consecutively..."Benji hasn't went to Toronto yet" and "we have already ate at Cadence and Riley's place." Unbelievable! Please find a new editor!!

I liked this book, some reviews say it's dark but I didn't think it was. They also say Ava was stuck up but I didn't get that vibe at all she was just a college girl who owns up to what she does and also has sh*t going on in her home life that honestly I don't know how I would act if you had to slowly watch your mom who is also someone she looks up die slowly from a horrible disease....FU@K cancer
Benji is awesomeness, he also owns who he is and that he has been to prison, it did take him a while to tell Ava but who just says ....oh by the way I was in prison for two years for beating a guy. So I understand him holding off on tell her.

Good Ending to the Series

I like the familiar and new characters and the continuation of the story from the first book. The editing is better and reads as an adult actually wrote it and I didn't have to figure out what K.V Rose was writing. Such a pleasure . My only problem with this series is it isn't dark enough and the sex scenes are the same. It that guy who has only one move in his bag and he does it every time but this is Benji who is dark, bad and has f**** lots of women. He needed to be darker, more bad for this to be a real dark romance.
But it is great for beginners.

More from the brilliant, deviant, beautiful mind that is K.V. Rose. If you have a dark side, love horror, can read a book ALMOST without tying up your life entirely with those of them characters, you will love her. Her books are dark, demented, gritty, and could be extremely triggering for some. But if you're like me or just an every day total weirdo, then you should read all her books. This was #5 for me and I don't see getting bored with them any time soon! Plus, she's a total fucking badass.

I was intrigued by Benji in the previous book so I couldn't wait to get my eyes on this one!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Ava because I loved Riley and even though she has Caden I kinda hoped Benji would stick with her too 🙈 but I loved Ava, she was perfect for him! And I love that we saw so much of Caden and Riley and that they're all friends 😍

KV's books.. I just can't explain them.. you NEED to read them - if you haven't, I promise you're missing out on SUCH a good thing 🖤

Please read "Let me" prior to this one.

Benji (MMC) is a really interesting character that lives in the dark areas, but its actually morally grey.
Loved to see his story and development.
Ava (FMC) is struggling with her family life and doesn't know how to cope with the ultimate loss of her mom. She is a relatable character.
Spicy scenes were good and intense.
We also get to see familiar faces (the MCs of "Let me")

I breezed through this book! I enjoyed the writing style! I especially loved Benji and Ava!

The reason for the 4 stars.. I didn't like how Benji was obsessing over Riley the entire book. He tried to play it off like they had sibling love but come on! What they did doesn't happen between siblings. It just wasn't believable.

All and all I really liked this series! K.V. Rose is a great author and I can't wait to read more by them!

Interesting

Overall the story is good. Not as dark as I would like but it's good. Benji is an interesting character. He's super messed up but I thought I would get to know more about his backstory with Bianca. I feel like there were missing pieces.

I like how we continue to hear about Caden and Riley's relationship.

OMG another great read!!

I was so intrigued by Benji in book one and I have to say I am not disappointed: HE is PHENOMENAL and I really do want more of him! I like Ava and how she is so similar to Benji, again this author manages to give us real, human characters. Loved it!!

Benji made for an interesting read, I loved him. Ava irritated me at times, however I believe that shows intelligent writing by making a character real. Continuing in part where Let Me finished, the plot gathers pace as our Hs wait for Rolland to appear. Enjoyable read, 4 solid stars.
