Ink

I got stabbed, joined an MC far from home, and nearly got shot to death protecting another man’s woman. All to get as far away from Julie, the woman I will always love, as I could to try and forget her. The choice they gave me was leave, or watch her get hurt. It was a simple choice, but far from an easy one. I can’t forget her, and I can’t live without her. The year since I last saw her has taught me that. Convincing her to take me back might not be easy, but if she gives me a second chance, I’ll never leave her again, no matter what.

We’ve been a couple of star-crossed lovers from the start, and the things keeping us apart have only gotten more dangerous and deadly, since I made the mistake of leaving her the first time. What do I do now? Do I leave everything behind to keep on running with Julie at my back, and nothing but the open road before us? That’s always been our biggest dream, but to make it come true, I’d have to leave Devil’s Nightmare MC.

I might not survive leaving the Devils. But I know I won’t survive without Julie.

So, I know my choice. When all is said and done, it‘s an easy one.

Ink was the eighth book in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series by Lena Bourne.

Ink was a fairly new patched in member of the MC but was vital in his loyalty for helping to save MC brothers and their old ladies. He was also the poet of the group. After his last brush with near death he decided it was time to go back to his home town and claim the girl he left behind.

Julie was Ink’s girl that he left behind. She was stuck in her small hometown and decided a year was long enough to wait for Ink and now she was moving on.

Bourne took us through Ink and Julie’s past and quickly revealed the backstory. While it was unraveling, she then meshed their story into the carryover MC plot that had been building from the last books. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot as well as the twists that were revealed throughout. It wasn’t predictable and what I was expecting. It was action packed, suspenseful and enjoyable. With that said, it was also hard to follow at times - primarily with the multiple MC’s from Ink’s hometown. It also left some pretty big holes - again related to Ink’s hometown MC’s. But even so, I enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down.

Lastly, Ink’s story was a bridge to Ace’s story, which is next. The MC conflict that was front and center was not even close to concluding and will be a carryover into Ace. It has promise and hopefully we’ll get more clarity on some of the holes from Ink’s story as well.

Out of this whole series I think this one has my most favorite cover but I like this one the least. I mean the story was pretty good but the H, Ink, was a bit of a wuss.

He screwed up and listened to his family and walked out on his fiance. At least it wasn't by text message...lol but instead of fighting for her he just left. Broke her heart. Now after almost dieing he goes after her and doesn't care who gets hurt. He again breaks her heart but not all his fault. He just sounds too much like a young female when thinking about her. They are back and forth enough to give you whiplash. The good thing is it makes you appreciate the alpha males a little more 😉...
It's not a terrible book but I prefer more alpha than wishy washy.

3 1/2 stars. I just could not get into this story. It just seemed to drag and drag, once it picked up it then just fell flat. It built up like there was going to be this big confrontation and it fizzled out into no big deal. It started so well.

Received a copy from the author for an honest review.

I really enjoyed the amount of emotionalism in this book. This MC romance offers up a storyline with plenty of angst, drama, action, danger, tenion, emotional turmoil and steam. This book grabbed and kept my attention well as the story unfolded. I thought the characters were likable and I liked the hot chemistry and powerful connection they shared. I am posting an independant, impartial review.

Parts of this book were good, others not so. I found a lot of Julie's inner monologues a bit repetitive and Ink was a good side character in other books but could have been stronger in this. One of the things I have found with this series is that the sex scenes are not hot, there are way too many and they take up half a chapter! Don't get me wrong I love me some hot scenes in a book but I found myself skipping them.
A good enough read but nothing special.

After Ink left Julie a year ago, the reasons are in a long back story which is included in the book. Still very much in love with each other and doing the best they can to pick up where they left off; his MC families, her Dad and several others are trying to keep them apart. There is a snitch in the club & it’s pointing to Ink. A roulette of obstacles to keep them apart, but in the end it’s an hea. Looking forward to Ace.

It's been so long since I've read a book from this lady that I was anxious and nervous... Anxious because she had written one of my favorite series and nervous because I had an idea of what was about to come.
Lena Bourne knows what she's doing. She writes MC like no-one and will hook you up in a sec. You'll see.
Ink is her latest release and it's the eight-book from the Devil's Nightmare MC series.
This new book explores the lives of Ink and Julie.
Ink is one of the brothers. He lives for them and would die for them too. A year ago he saw the love of his life slip away from him but it was something that he needed to do. To save her he needed to leave her behind. Now, one year later...
Julie saw her heartbroken a year ago by the one that promised her a forever love. She put her life on hold waiting for him to come back but he didn't. Now, 1 year later she decided to follow her dreams...
Dayum... Just Dayum... It was perfect.
Sublime plot, very well written, super engaging, intense and surrounded by a cloud of darkness... It was perfect.
I've been following this series for a while now and it was amazing to have news from the other characters.
This book presented us with love, loyalty, desire, friendship, true love as well as greed, betrayal, crime, madness, and punishment.
One minute I was thinking that everything was a bed of roses and the next I was hit with the thorns... Jesus...
And just like this author and done previously... She gave us hints of who was the next character she would write about next.
Now I'm even more anxious... I need it...please Lena... I want more. When a woman...I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The Devils are back and this is Ink's story, I must admit Lena had me worried a little bit over Ink, I'm not saying why, I'll let you figure that one out for yourself.

Here's the gist of it, after being shot and is healing, he thinks back to his life before the Devil's and the girl he had to leave behind a year ago,and thinks it's time to go back and get the girl, if she'll have him, he hurt her badly for leaving thing is Crow has just given the order that no one is to leave Sanctuary, but he decides to go with his feelings and against Crow's orders, though the ramifications of his decision could prove fatal.

There is a bit of back story as to why he left Julie, but that would be giving away too much that I'm sure you will want to find out for yourself, as for Julie, I felt like telling her to get a grip and I'm sure you know that Crow doesn't let Ink off that easy for going against his express orders, again, grab a copy, this is a fast paced, action packed, thrilling read, that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

It was so good to revisit the Devil's Nightmare MC world with Ink. These guys are all tough as nails, not exactly what you would call model citizens but you cannot help but fall in love with them especially when you see how easy it is for the right woman to bring these Alpha men to their knees.

Ink fell in love with the wrong girl and it brings a whole heap of trouble. He knows that in order to protect the rest of his family and her he has to leave. A year later he decides enough time has passed and disobeying a direct order from the president of his MC he sets off to win Julie back but going against the orders of Cross isn't the wisest choice on his part and it definitely won't even be worth the trouble if he cannot convince Julie of why he left in the first place. These two do not have an easy time of things, Julie is stuck in a family that doesn't give her any freedom and Ink has obligations to his MC. Can they be together or with the forces pulling them apart prove to be too strong?

Regret, determination and redemption are all Ink can think of since leaving Julie behind a year ago. This is a thrilling quest of one man fighting to right his wrongs. I love the devotion that Ink exhibits as he struggles uphill to get his second chance with Julie. The odds are not necessarily in his favor but Ink does not give up even when Julie thinks that he does. Her family is against him and the Devil's Nightmare MC is looking for answers they think Ink has and that's not a good thing either.
I really like these characters but, I'm little disappointed with Julie. She says that Ink is her true love but she doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt when it's important before finding out the facts - facts that Julie doesn't realize how much they have impacted her life as well as Ink's. However, their connection and chemistry is through the roof and that makes it imperative for them to get their happy ending.

Ink left his uncle's MC when his father died believing it was the best thing for everyone. But he had to leave his fiance and live of his life, Julie. He leaves without telling her the truth or about her father.
Julie has waited for Ink to return, but he hasn't and she can no longer live with her father or brother and the things they want her to do.
Ink survives being shit three times, as a member if a new MC Devil's Nightmare and he realizes he must go back to Julie and plead for her forgiveness. But to do this he must go against his Pres.
What happensxwhen Julie and Ink reunite? This a second, third and fourth chance novel. Ink trues to do whats right but Jukie keeps being collateral damage. Can she forgive him? Can his club just let him disobey orders?
Good 8th book. There is no need to read the other books but once you read this you'll want to go back and meet the rest of the group.

Deception, corruption, and betrayals from the get go. Ink was a scapegoat and sacrificial lamb for his family. I wanted to kick Julie in the teeth! She knew and had proof of why he had to leave, and she still questions his loyalties and love? Smh to a concussion. Why Julie? Is Julie really as blind and stupid as she's acting? I'm at my whits end with her! This was the most we've seen of Cross since his book, and it's good see him back in action again. He's missed and should be a presence in all stories please?! I liked the improved communication between Jullie and Ink at the end. It made me dislike Julie a bit less. I floved Ink at the end b/c he reminded me of a little boy- so sweet!

Love this series! We met Ink in a previous book and as with all the guys in this series, his story is fabulous! Ink and Julie have been in love forever, but when problems crop up with their families Ink leaves. He leaves to protect Julie, but she's not aware of this so both of them are miserable until he finally decides he's had enough and wants to get her back and that is when this book gets really interesting. Ms. Bourne's books are sexy, exciting, rollercoaster rides and this one is no exception. Ink and Julie are fierce and loving and the fringe characters are amazing as always. Great book and equally great series, can't wait to see what Ms. Bourne comes up with next!

I had a hard time getting into this book. Ink and Julie were engaged and broke up. Ink went back to get Julie back, and she easily takes him back. It was too easy for her to forgive him. Especially since she had such a hard time dealing with him leaving without a word. His reason for leaving, she doesn't really believe either BUT she still takes him back. With the way the book was written, it was a surprise! Then Julie says that Ink is her true love, but she doesn't have faith in him. This book just didn't flow as well for me as the other books in this series.

**My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

This is a well written MC romance with strong , well developed characters and an intriguing story line. The author does a fantastic job developing the story and brings it to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. She brings twists, turns, suspense and tons of action and fills it with so much emotion you can feel it coming through the pages. I was captured and held from start to finish reading Ink and Julie's story and would highly recommend this book.

This is a great book about an MC member who suddenly leaves the woman he loves without explaining why. There are a lot of reasons involving their families, murder and threatened danger, and some VERY complicated MC politics making it nearly impossible for the two lovers to be together. The author really develops the plot in a way that just might make it possible for them to have an HEA. I highly recommend this book!

Always good to read a book from the Devils Nightmare series as, its like checking up on old friends and finding out how there are faring.

Ink’s story has a Romeo and Julia twist but the MC way, with loads of intense feelings, action scenes, suspension, betrayal and all that make an MC read a page turner.

Ink Devils Nightmare by Lena Bourne is another thoroughly captivating story in this series. A MC story that isn’t all about the club. The MC is a part of the story in a great way but the H and h are the main focus😊

I couldn't quite get into Ink's story.
I don't really know the reason why. The writing was of the usual good quality but the story itself fell flat this time. It felt like nothing of significance had really happened.
There was this tension like something big and bad could happen any time but somehow it never did.
It seems like this story just wasn't for me.
